Windows 7 upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit, 64 does not start on its own
I am trying to upgade win 7 32-bit to 64-bit. I bought a new copy of Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit. It does not start on its own, is there some
type of bootloader on the net. who's going to help or what!
To learn how to change your BIOS options to boot from the DVD drive, the following tutorial:
http://notebooks.com/2011/05/05/How-to-load-BIOS-and-change-boot-configuration/
-----------------------------------------------
You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.
Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.
Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

Windows 7 Upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit (valid key)
I have an old computer upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 32 bit, using a Windows 7 upgrade CD long ago. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit using a clean install from a Windows 7 OEM disc I used on another computer, I built. Can I activate the new installation of Windows 7 on the old computer from the OEM disk using the key from the old drive to upgrade to Windows 7 or y at - it another way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit in this case? Thanks for the help.
You will need to do a custom Setup during the migration from 32 to 64 - bit versions of Windows:
How to: perform a customized Windows installation
Be careful, this other computer recovery disk may be only for use with the computer, with which he came. In addition, the edition must match the product key you plan to install, if they don't, it won't work.
If its a version of upgrade / full license or OEM System Builder detail disk then you can use it.
Keep in mind, the editions must match.

The upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2.1 does not load images (EPG)
Hi all
I have had a problem upgrading to APEX of 4.1 to 4.2.1 using the full installation with all languages.
I managed to fix it myself, but still I don't know why she failed the first time. This is why I post this message. In addition, to help others which falls on this problem.
-I am trying to install the 4.2.1 on Oracle 11 g XE APEX.
-J' use the gateway (epg) integrated plsql
(1) I unzipped the file to C:\Oracle\apex_4.2.1\apex
(2) to this directory, I started sqlplus:
C:\Oracle\apex_4.2.1\apex > sqlplus sys as sysdba
SQL:
SQL > exec dbms_xdb.sethttpport (0);
SQL > @apexins.sql USERS USERS TEMP is
SQL > exec dbms_xdb.sethttpport (8080);
Then I restarted the listener.
I went to localhost: 8080 / apex, it transmits to localhost: 8080/apex/f? p = 4550:1: < sessionID > using Chrome. But a white screen appeared. It's something that happens to a lot of people (I read a lot of these problems on the forum)
After some research, I noticed that the script did not create the new directory of images. I still had the images of 4.1 directory! So I backupped the old images directory and downloaded the directory images manually using fileZilla (open a session with the SYSTEM)
Then when I tried to go to localhost: 8080/apex/f? p = 4550:1: < sessionID > I had this popup: "the local server to XDB host requires a user name and password.
This happens in all the major browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome)
Searching on the forum I found messages indicating there is a problem with IE 7, do I have to run this statement: "change user xdb unlock account;" But I tried with nothing doesn't. I continued to get the command prompt. When I clicked on cancel I couldn't see anything. When I used sqlplus xdb/xdb@xe it worked fine.
Next thing I've tried manually removed the images directory. So I ran @apxldimg.sql (parameterless) and the images directory has been recreated, but it contained the old 4.1 files magically! When I went in the hot folder on the installation disk I could clearly see a folder images/apex_ui but it does not simply exist in the database after the execution of apxldimg.sql.
Then I found something in the code of apxldimg.sql. Apparently, it creates a directory on the database to aid & images/apex/1... If the substitution variable '& 1' must have been the location of the files the and it must contain the full path!
SQL > @apxldimg.sql C:\Oracle\apex_4.2.1
After you run this files have been created successfully and I could finally connect.
...
One question remains: Why can't find anything in the log on the loading of the images? And why it did not work via apexins.sql? He completely skipped this step, because no trace of it has been found anywhere in the Setup log. This could be a bug?
Thank you
Dennis.Dennis,
The apexins.sql script does not take care to install/load the images. Install images has always been a separate step that is often neglected (it is a different process according to the HTTP server, we chose to use). http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E37097_01/doc/install.42/e35123/otn_install.htm#BHAJIGDA
The majority of the 'white page' problems on the new facility holds the images not being loaded correctly.-Jeff

I installed the addon and now FF won't start and seems to be a loop. Is it possible to uninstall the addon or configure FF so that it starts with disabled addons? Don't forget that FF does not at all so I don't have access to one of the internal functions.
Release the FF is 17.0.1, on Windiows XP/SP3
In addition, as soon as I did this, I would have the addon added to the red list.
Open Firefox in Safe Mode diagnosis by holding down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox. Firefox will start with Extensions and some other things off. When done with the Safe Mode, the release of Firefox, wait a few seconds and click the Firefox desktop icon to start Firefox in normal mode.
More info on who and by removing manually extensions, if any, included in the following articles:
- https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/cannot uninstall an add-on
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_extensions
Additional follow-up questions:
- Name of the add-on?
- Link to which you downloaded the add-on?
- Was this a separate application? If Yes, have you looked in Control Panel > add or remove programs (or programs and features) to see if it is listed and remove from there?

Convert virtual disk from IDE to SCSI now Server 2008 does not start
Hi all
I hope that one of you guys can solve my problem.
I'm new to vmware and have managed to convert my 2008 physical server to a virtual server, but when this virtual disk has been set to IDE, I read that I need to use SCSI for better performance then I attributed a new virtual disk to my server and clone the IDE hard drive on the SCSI disk using EASEUS disk copy software.
After I cloned the drive I removed the IDE hard disk but my server continues to display the BSOD 0x0000007b error (inaccessible boot volume). I can't start normally or through safe mode. If I try to use the recovery mode no drives appear.
I use the LSI Logic SAS controller type and have tried the parallel LSI Logic Controller without result.
Is it possible to fix my guest operating system, without having to reinstall?
Thank you very much

On Windows 7 upgrade from vista 64 bit stops after that it says the settings and files of collection
I am tring to install Windows 7 upgrade from vista 64-bit. I'm to the point where it says collect files and settings, and it stops running, and then in the details it shows 3 files located in the c: users\my name\appdata\local\temp\WER followed by numbers.tmp, then version, appcompat or mdmp. (example: wer5090.tmp.version.txt) He said that these files are the reason. Any ideas how to solve this problem?
1 disable any security software before attempting to upgrade
2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)
3. disconnect all external devices before installing.
4. check your hard disk for errors:
Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.
1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
User account control permission
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
5. click on OK.
6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.
Also run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-7/Upgrade-Advisor.aspx
If the upgrade continues to fail, you might want to consider doing a custom installation:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.
You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

How to migrate my upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 8
Hello to everyone
I bought the Windows 8 upgrade online to update my Windows XP installation to 8.
However, I only had the 32-bit version, which I didn't discover until Windows 8 32-bit was already installed. It's a disappointment because my support 64-bit Windows 8 and for this reason it is accurate that I wanted to move to Windows 8.
I followed the instructions on the Microsoft support site now who tell me to buy separate installation media. It means that I have an official DVD with Windows 8 upgrade to 64 - bit.
My question is how should I proceed from here? Can I just install Windows 8 64-bit directly above the windows 8 32 bits already installed on my hard drive and do this by booting from the DVD?
I tried to do last night, but the only result was that Windows 8 32-bit re-installed itself hard disk and deleted applications and data on the hard drive.
The only solution I see would be to have to re-install my old Windows XP and start the 64-bit DVD to install it directly on the. And frankly, this seems like an unnecessary pain.
Any help with going from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 8 using my version of upgrade would be greatly appreciated. Honestly, I do not understand why Microsoft has made this process so difficult.
Cheers, BillyBob
Hello Andrew
Thank you for your quick and comprehensive response. I see from your answer that it is possible to 'upgrade' to Windows 8 64 bits from an installed version of 32-bit simply start from the 64-bit DVD and by taking the necessary precautions to copy data and files in advance.
Thanks especially for the guide step by step designed to make a "custom installation". It is the exact procedure, I was looking to have confirmed. I couldn't do this job yesterday, but it may have been because, inadvertently, I activated the "system reset" function of the 32-bit Windows 8 on the hard disk when you are looking for the option to open a "custom installation".
I will try that tonight and get back to you (and any other Googling their way here) a confirmation if it works or not as I found it difficult to find detailed information on this procedure elsewhere.
Just to be clear 100%: it is possible to use the DVD from an upgrade VUP to do a clean install 64-bit on a 32-bit Windows 8 installed version, right?
Best regards, BillyBob
Please note, an upgrade is not possible by either from installing from a Windows version, or by booting from the disc for 32 to 64-bit scenarios.
Yes, you can use the disk to upgrade to migrate from 32 to 64-bit.

The upgrade from 32-bit Windows 7 to 64 - bit Windows 8
Original title: Windows 8 Pro Upgrade installed a 32-bit system
Yesterday, I downloaded Windows 8 Pro. After installation, I found that he had set up a 32-bit system instead of 64-bit. My system Windows 7 was on 32 bits, but my processor is capable of 64-bit. Research on one of the forums of tecjh many people have had the problem that the downloaded version of Windows 8 is only 32-bit installation, even if the Windows 7 system is 64-bit. Does anyone know how to get Windows 8 to install 64-bit instead of 32?
Use a pc that has x 64 os installed and re download win8 using the link in your email, now since the base is x 64 u will get a x 64 win8, burn the iso to a dvd and install it on your x 64 system support.
Have not tried this, but some say it works... Since u already bought, it's worth a try. -

Hello cdrudd, welcome.
We start back up your data first, if you have a Windows Vista recovery or install CD/DVD, try this:
1. connect an external drive or flash drive
2. place the CD of Windows Vista in the status bar, and close
3 boot the disk and choose "repair my computer".
4 choose "Command Prompt"
5. type the following command:CD c:
| Come in
users of CD
| Come in
dir
| Come in
From here, take note of what your user name folder name. Then type...
copy c:\users\yourusername e:\users
| Come in
* ' e' will be the letter of your external device. It could be F, G, H or so now (according to which drive letter was already used)
Once the copy is complete, you can pretty much use the following commands to keep the rest of the data:
copy c:\program files e:\program files -copy everything in the folder program files
You can use the dir command to view the contents of a directory. Then, you can use the cd command to navigate to a directory.
Let us know if you have a copy of your user data backup job. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you!

Windows 7 32 bit does not start after the installation of the need for assistance
I have an iMac 21.5 inches (mid-2011) with 8 GB Ram, 2 TB SSHD, new HL-DT-ST DVD - RW GA32N and tried to install windows 7 (32 bit) on using Boot Camp Assistant.
I already downloaded and copied software 4.0.4033.zip Boot Camp here-> https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630?locale=en_US for my 16 GB Pen Drive MS-DOS (FAT32)
The installation was successful, and windows 7 loads just fine 1st time, I created UserID and password, settings etc... using the apple keyboard then installed the drivers from apple on this issue of my 16 GB USB key. Seems my Magic Mouse works but my keyboard is not detected
Then I tried to restart so the changes would come into force, and since then my Windows will not start or run Windows 7
Now if I start my iMac hold down the Option key, I get Macintosh HDD, windows, recovery 10.11.4 and DVD. If I select Windows or Windows DVD it starts Booting then black screen followed by this Message on the screen «Press a key to boot from the CD or DVD...» »
If I press any button it starts booting from DVD and gives me the option to install Windows and if I do not press a button some then nothing happens
Windows does not start a BootCamp HDD and I'm left with no option but to press on the button / stop to stop iMac.
Fortunately my El Capitan works well, but my Windows will not start. I tried 2 times install windows 7 32 Bit on my BootCamp HDD.
So any help, I do not understand what am I'm doing wrong, I would be really grateful if someone who knew bootcamp can guide me so that I can run Windows OSX on my iMac.
Thanks in advance.
Remove the DVD, boot in OSX and after the release of the following Terminal commands?
diskutil list
Cs diskutil list
sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0
sudo fdisk/dev/disk0
The "sudo" commands will prompt to enter your password, and there do not appear to come back. You can also see caution against improper use 'sudo' and the potential loss of data due to an "abuse" of the order.

Hi all, I'm new here!
I am (excuse me: has) with a stream 7
A few days ago, I tried to install Windows 10 TP renovation 8.1 with Bing. After a while of waiting, he managed, but unfortunately I have forgiven to in SSD Tablet hp drivers, thinking that they were not necessary. If the touchscreen, WiFi and all the other stuff has failed. After I've got collegated by OTG, a keyboard and a mouse, that I managed to use Windows 10.
Try to install the drivers, my fault, I opened a .exe from Realtek (perhaps for audio), Tablet asked to reboot and after that I can't access Windows anymore.
I tried to start Windows 8.1 from a USB key, but it does not start, the same even if I disable secure boot.
With disabled bitlocker Windows gives this error
In the start option, I set these settings
I put the USB in this way:
The stream does not consider the USB absolutely XD
If I turn on again the secure boot Windows gives this error (which 99% is caused by the .exe I installed):
Restart the flow some time with secure boot it goes in a menu (where touch screen works) where there are a lot of options to reset Windows, but none of them doesn't work. If I try to format in this menu it asks password for my account, but it does not accept the mine :/
If I try to open the collection (from volume button when it starts less) it gives this message:
Waiting for relief,
Thank you for your patience!
@fotogruia in my case, the indicated operating system was windows 10 and as I wrote it has worked well. Good luck!

Windows XP does not start. Can I boot Windows from a disk so that I can recover the data? This should be a CD because it doesn't have a floppy disk on my laptop drive. It is maybe that my hard drive has begun to fail and therefore cannot locate XP startup files. I can not start using one of the other methods of starting for example. Safe mode. If I can recover the data, I can then reload Windows and check the surface of the disc etc etc. Thank you all for your comments. Steve
Lately, I'm leaning toward the Hiren's BootCD you can download here:
On the left, click on download, scroll down, choose the most recent version
The download link is a little hard to see. It is at the bottom of the page, above the drop for older versions and looks like this (click this component to download the ZIP file):
Direct HTTP mirror + Torrent, Torrent Magnet
Click the "Live HTTP Mirror" link to start the download and save the ZIP file on your desktop of somewhere that you can remember.
The ZIP file is large, so the download will take probably some time to complete. Then unzip the download to extract theHirens.BootCD.ISO file that will be used to create your new bootable CD.
Create a bootable CD. ISO file is not the same as simply copying the. File ISO onto a blank CD. You must use software that includes how to burn a. ISO to a CD to create a bootable CD.
File ZIP the Hiren is the file BurnToCD.cmd that you can double-click to launch it. The BurnToCD.cmd will use the file BurnCDCC.exe to burn the. ISO file onto a blank CD using your existing CD burner. You can also use your own burning software as long as your software is able to create a bootable CD. ISO file. More modern burning programs can create a bootable CD. ISO image. Create a CD from an ISO image bootable is not the same as just the file on a CD burning.
If you need a simple and CD burning, this is a free software popular software:
Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:
http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61
It would be a good idea to test your new bootable CD on a computer running.
You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.
These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load. If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again. When starting on the Hiren's CD, you will see a menu of options. Choose Mini XP.
It will appear while Windows is loading and you will be presented with a desktop computer that has the look and feel of the interface of Windows Explorer, you are already accustomed to using. You will feel at home.
Using the Mini XP, you can access the Internet, maneuver around your system, copy files, replace the files, run the scans for malware, etc. There are dozens of free and useful tools included in the CD that can be used to repair your system, or copy files to another device such as a USB device or an external drive if drop in trying to repair your system.
If you want to see if you can fix your system, describe what is happening when you try to start and to answer these questions:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
