Lol when you upgrade you send upwards with a license, not two. The license of Vista is subsumed in Windows 7 one and can no longer be used. This is the reason for which an upgrade is cheaper than licensed full.

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

That you have installed Windows 7, I don't think not that it would be always available.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

    See you soon.

  • I'll be able to install Windows 10 from scratch and use my Vista license to activate Windows 10?

Original title: 10 free for Vista Windows?

    Hello

I know that Windows 10 will be a free Windows 7 upgrade or 8/8.1 for the first year.  I run Vista Ultimate, and I would like to upgrade to Windows 10 as well.  I'm not interested in upgrading my Vista installation - it's almost 10 years and it's time to start over.  I'll be able to install Windows 10 from scratch and use my Vista license to activate Windows 10?  I totally understand don't want not to support an upgrade of a system of directly to 10 Microsoft Windows Vista, but Vista licenses will be able to 'upgrade' to Windows 10 licenses?  I have not found information on it online.  Everything speaks to us (ameioration) for Windows 7/8/8.1 for Windows 10.  It would be a shame for Microsoft to extend an olive branch to some legitimate users of Windows and others do not.

    Thank you

  • How to install a dual boot on my laptop system. There the Vista license on it, I'll buy a disc of windows 7 retail of the school?

How to install a dual boot on my laptop system. There the Vista license on it, I'll buy a disc of windows 7 retail school, also I want to use vmware or virtual box to have windows 7 Windows 7 for experimentation (because in to school for computers). So, how can I configure my computer to ask what os I want to run from the black screen and I have 7 on a virtual machine to play with and what having a vdi with my os to travel around with on a USB?

Please see the following article with useful information about dual-boot:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/can-I-have-more-than-one-operating-system-on-my-computer-multiboot

You will not be able to virtualize Windows 7 because the license would be already physically license on the host on a partition.

Another question, you must make sure that the copy of that school license is not an upgrade. You cannot install an upgrade on a partition or a virtual machine.

  • Can I use the Vista key code to activate this Windows 7?

Original title: Windows 7 and key code

I have a Dell laptop that I replaced the drive on. Originally Vista and Windows 7. I reloaded Vista but if I load this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

Can I use the Vista key code to activate this Windows 7?

No, you need the product key for Windows 7, Windows 7 uses its own unique product key. What you can do is to reload the old hard drive, and then try to recover the product key:

Here are four utilities, which can display your product keys if they are still there:

  • Can I install 2 copies of Windows 7 on the same PC in a dual-boot configuration (using the same license key)?

I just bought Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack, with 3 upgrade licenses.

I update my 3 PCs at the House Windows XP to Windows 7.

I double on 2 of these PCs, boot Windows XP (for me, one for my wife) on different partitions. the two Windows installs fine activated using the same license (probably because they are on the same physical computer with the same hardware, and only 1 instance of Windows XP can be used at a time).

I like to create 2 different partitions, and install Windows on each and choose the one that start when I boot. It worked well in Windows XP. Can I do this with my new Windows 7 Family Pack?

My final configuration would have 1 PC with 1 partition and a new update to Win 7; and 2 PCs each dual-boot using the other 2 licenses.

Please calm down, the question is not so complicated (if you read the operating instructions / first license agreements).

    (1) If you want to cancel an upgrade and return to your old system under license (XP), you can do it. You can not use XP anymore, If you upgrade. But if you come back that the State of origin, you will have the same license as before.

    (2) with your Family Pack, you can spend 3 PC to Windows 7. 3 upgrade licenses = 3 licenses to upgrade. It's an interesting idea to use it to "5 installed on different partitions 5" because two of them are "on the same physical PC." However, you should know the rule "1 license is 1 pc." You use not here too artificial.

  • Is it possible to upgrade Enterpsie from Windows Vista to Windows 7 using the upgrade HP program?

    Hi all

I want to upgrade to Windows 7 Windows Vista Enterprise. I read on the ability to upgrade to Windows 7 at low administrative cost by HP upgrade program. However, the site mentions that I can only upgrade from Vista Home Premium, business or ultimate edition. My laptop HP (the EliteBook 8530w) had Windows Vista Enterprise is installed. So I want to know if it is possible for me to upgrade to Windows 7 using the upgrade HP program.

I bought this laptop from my University. They had a program, so we could buy our laptop with many applications that we need for our study pre-installed. It could be that they have replaced the Vista HP installed with Windows Vista Business version. If this is the case, is it possible for me to somehow re - install the previous version of Vista, so I can still take part in the upgrade program?

I bought my laptop at my University. They have installed all the software and it is possible that they also installed Windows Vista business. When I looked at the description of the Elitebook 8530w, he mentioned Windiows Vista Ultimate as the operating system. So I am clueless why my University is using Windows Vista Enterprise.I have decided that I will contact HP support on this issue, to see if I can install Vista Ultimate and then upgrade to Windows 7.

UPDATE: I contacted just HP support by phone. The Elitebook 8530w comes with Vista Bussiness installed and they send me an installation disc within 14 days. They have also described here it might be possible to do a clean install with upgrade cd, although they did not know for some. I think I'll try the clean install first, and if that doesn't work, I'll install Windows Vista Bussiness and then perform the upgrade.

In any case, I want to thank everyone for the help they provided.

  • It is possible to reinstall Windows 7 using the Windows 10 software, in which I would buy and use?

Original title: problem of Installation of Windows 7.

    Hello

Recently, my computer has not been doing any internet access and I thought to reinstall Windows 7.

But I can't do that because I lost the disc and key product :( (shock)

So I thought I would buy a new one, but with Windows 10.

It is possible to reinstall Windows 7 using the Windows 10 software, in which I would buy and use?

If I decide to buy online, some say it's downloadable, how can I reinstall it without using a CD?

No, Windows 7 and Windows 10 require unique product keys and their respective installation files.

If I decide to buy online, some say it's downloadable, how can I reinstall it without using a CD?

Windows 10 is available as a digital download:

    Buy Windows 10 family/professional edition

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Replace with Win 7 32 bit XP Mode using the oem license key?

We have some old software that requires a 32 bit OS.  There is no way around that it will never support 64 bit, but must use it occasionally.

Currently, we run with XP Mode installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  As Microsoft ends support XP on April 8, 2014, we want to move a virtual machine to Windows 7 32 bit.

Is it acceptable to use the same license key OEM on the bottom of the laptop to install Windows 7 32 - bit in Virtual PC instead of the XP Mode or do we need to buy more licenses of Windows 7?

Windows Virtual PC can be used independently of Windows XP Mode, but as noted, if you use another version of Windows such as Windows 7 32 bit, you will need to purchase an additional license. The license at the bottom of your laptop is already linked to the host machine on which it is installed.
