  • Windows Media Center does not record the calendar.

Planning to record a program, but sometimes lapsed time up to the point where it does not record. I am running Windows 7 Home. Yes, I checked preferences but which differs only up to 15 minutes max.  I have reinstalled twice already. Why please?

    Hello

    (1) did you make any changes before the show?

    (2) what is the brand and model of the computer?

Windows Media Center records the first home run HD programs or any which TV tuner installed. However, you may need to follow a few rules.

-If you turn off your computer, Windows Media Center does not have a regular program. The computer must be turned on or "standby mode" to record a television show. The computer will not automatically in standby mode if Windows Media Center is open.

-Make sure that you turn off the screen and lower or turn off the sound if you have one at the request of a record in the middle of the night and don't want to be disturbed.

-Your scheduled recording may not save in the following situation: schedule you a recording in Windows Media Center to start in less than ten minutes, close Windows Media Center and put your computer into standby or hibernation mode immediately. Use or one of the following options to save your record programmed:

    a. do not close Windows Media Center before you put your computer on standby or hibernation.
    b. after having programmed a recording, wait a minute before you put the computer in standby or hibernation.

  • Windows Media Center does not work when on a remote desktop session

I have just Setup Remote Desktop on my local server and connected my laptop... whew that was a task in itself!

Server - Windows 7 Ultimate w/Media Center installed

Laptop - Windows 8 Pro w/Media Center installed

I am able to run the Windows Media PLAYER on the remote desktop, and it seems to work fine after that I added the libraries to it.

    BUT

When I run Windows Media CENTER I get a message that "Windows Media Center has stopped working... Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. "The message goes away and that's it.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can get the WMC to operate on remote desktop?

Not very well why this would be considered as a matter of "ITPro.

It's probably debatable that MS really intended for MC to be used via RDP, I'm not sure they believed that the feature has been used very well at all judging by what they were doing in Windows 8

However, there are two possibilities on the cause of this. An update of the RDP client can be the culprit, but it is not always a good idea to block any update.

You can also the following reg key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\Rdp-Tcp

added needs of the user group have included in its read access permissions. You can also use the run as Administrator option when you start Media Center.

  • Windows Media Center does not display my photos. I tried to re-setup my album and it shows my files but no pictures in them. I can see my photos in all viewers

all my photos are in JPEG format, I download my photos on several websites and on my Windows live.com page, I also see with Windows Live Photo Gallery, I use Adobe Photoshop 7 to edit and save my pictures in .jpeg format, I can visualize in Picasa, PhotoStudio, ZoomBrowers EX etc.. I can spend my photos to one of my other computers and my pictures by e-mail, and they can be consulted. I open one of my photos in Photoshop and saved in a folder on my desktop in .jpeg and .bmp and it does not display. I sort my folder in date and make sure that hidden files is checked. I know I'm missing something, but still nothing.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

How long have you had this problem?

All files compatible photo in your library in Windows will appear in Media Center, including whatever it is stored in the folder my pictures or public photo. If you store images somewhere else, like an external hard drive, you can add them to the Media Center as well. To learn how, see Add files to media in Windows Media Center.

The following is a list of reasons why an image will not display in Media Center, as well as suggestions for correcting the problem.

    • The picture file type is not supported in Media Center. For example, some digital camera photos are saved in the RAW file format, which is not supported in Media Center. If you have a photo editing software, try to open the picture in that program, and then resaving in a file type that is supported (for example, JPEG). To see what types of files are supported in Media Center, see file types supported by Windows Media Center.

    • The file is corrupted. If this is the case, try to open the image in another photo editing program, and then save it back into a different file type. For more information on the damaged files, see the files corrupted: frequently asked questions.

    • The file is hidden. You can view a hidden file by changing its properties in Windows. For more information, see Show hidden files.

  • Windows 7 64 bit, Windows Media Center does not work

After you activate Windows Home Server media sharing, I went to my 64 bit Windows 7 machines and tried to launch Windows Media Center.  After you run through the configuration of the connector of WMC, reboot, and then clicking Windows Media Center, I get:

"Windows Media Center has stopped working".

He said that it is looking for a solution, but after a few seconds, he goes and does not return.

I never have a chance to fix anything, or even see if it connects or not.

    Any ideas?

1 open the control panel-> programs and features.
    2. click on Turn Windows features on or off in the left pane.
3 expand the multimedia functionality, turn off Windows Media Center. Click Yes to continue, and then click OK to exit. Then restart.
    4. open features Turn Windows turn on or off again. Functionality in Windows Media Center. Restart the computer.

    5. launch Windows Media Center, initialize the program.
