Windows 8.1 for Extensa 4420 display driver

I have an Extensa 4420 that I've upgraded to 8.1 Windows in a dual-boot with Windows 7 configuration.  In the process, I lost 25% of my pixels of the screen when running Win8.1.  When I run Win7, the system gives me a screen of 1280 x 800 pixels and detects the Radeon Xpress 1250 GPU.  When I run Win8.1, the system gives me a screen of 1024 x 768 pixels and insists on the implementation of "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter."  The screen is completely filled, but it is distorted and "clumsy" in the search.

So I guess the question is, is there a driver somewhere for the Radeon Xpress 1250 GPU that works for Windows 8.1, and, if so, how can I force Windows 8.1 use this driver?  FWIW, I tried to update the driver using Device Manager, but I find the latest driver is for Win7 (on acer.com), and Win8.1 don't like it.  AMD/ATI does not seem to have updated all drivers for this specific GPU.

I suspect that I should give up on Win8 to this laptop, but it might be a good place to 'adapt' to the Win8, if I could make the display look better.

DRM for the previews.

  • Drivers for Extensa 4420 - service not available?

    Hi people,

I've updated a laptop Acer Extensa 4420 of Vista to Windows 7.  I tried for over a week to download drivers Windows 7 x 64 for this PC, but whenever I select Windows 7 x 64 I get this message: "Service unavailable".

For most of my attempts, the page would default to display the Windows Vista x 86 drivers.  Today, he is unable to do it again.

I called Acer technical support and provided my SNID.  This PC is out of warranty, if Acer will not take my call.  Their automated system routed me to a third party.  When I explained the scenario, the agent told me the server is under maintenance and I should try again in a few hours.  When I said that I had tried for days, he suggested that I call Acer.  He gave me the same number I had called to him.

This seems to be a recurring problem with a lot of messages on the same subject.  User Laurent_14 wrote that the Australian site was working.  As of today, it is not.

I've seen users suggest clearing cache Java or temporary Internet files.  In fact, I tried to download the drivers on the newly installed Windows 7 x 64, before visiting other websites or install any other software.

How do I get the drivers for an older Acer?

    Thank you

    Hi all

  • Satellite L655 - update for the AMD display driver

Why he did there not update for ATI driver Satellite L655?

I want to use AMD app functionality which is supported by ati hd 5650, but programs that want to use this feature says I need to update the display driver. The AMD driver said he is not taken in charge and I need to download your manufacturing for laptop (Toshiba), witch is very old :(

Why Toshiba does not support the update of manufacturing original, even the cheapest laptop chipsets supports the update?

    Hi paradis_pal_1,

Latest AMD display driver for Windows 7 64 bit and Satellite L655 is from 14/01/11 so it s no old driver

Otherwise I agree with Akuma and if you are looking for a newer version check other portable Toshiba with AMD graphic. For example, Satellite L750D has a new driver from the 05/09/11, which is version 8.812.2.2. This driver should also work on your model, because the old graphics cards are also supported.

  • How to migrate Windows 8.1 for SSD the SATA drive of 1 TB on Alienware X 51 R2

    Hello

I installed a 240 GB SSD in my new Alienware X 51 R2 desktop PC.  It is formatted and accessible within the OS Windows 8.1 at the current address.  I want to migrate OS applications and factory to the new SSD.

    Any advice?

What I think I do below:

I have saved everything, created exotic images of system using premium respawn, etc..  I made a bootable CD of Alienware s/w.

I assumed that I only need to reboot from bootable CD or USB, choose the SSD as drive and choose restore from USB to recover the OS + Apps, correct?

I have to change the boot sequence in the BIOS or something...?

Request of forum before I go ahead and take the leap!

    THX,

    Chris.

    Hey Chris,

abfifg gives good advice (although his link is broken for me, not sure what he was pointing to).  Cloning is certainly the best way to go.  Personally I use Acronis True Image for years & it has been easier for me.  I cloned my Alienware 13 500 GB hard drive to a 240GB SSD, then back to a 480 GB SSD.  Intelligently, it can migrate & adjust partition of a disk of larger size and a smaller without problem.  It is not free, but it's worth it in my opinion.  There are other free options out there, but I never got none of them work well.

    I hope this helps!

I have a Tecra R850 with the ATI HD 6450 M and every now and again it crashes and BSOD appears.
I have observed that mainly happens when playing flash videos.
After reviewing the events system, I discovered that there is a problem with the display adapter driver.

The said event system is perhaps a solution [here: http://wer.microsoft.com/Responses/Response.aspx/21682/en/5.1.2600.0.00000000.9.9?SGD=13feb1cd-4c8b-4c3a-aeee-ca4ca2c99729]

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you
    Jose.

    Hi Jose

Are you using the original Toshiba pre-installed Windows or your own version?
Display driver original included in the original recovery image is tested, so you shouldn't have trouble with basic stuff like flash video playback.

Since when did you notice this problem? Can you give us an example when this happens?
    You have installed updates?
To be honest, I can't imagine that this issue is on the first day of use.

  • Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

Product: HP Pavilion dv7-6015tx Entertainment Notebook PC

    OS: Windows 7 32-bit

Status: Clean installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 - bit Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Hello

I had several cases where the computer seems 'lag '.

then, after a few flickers on my screen, Windows would give the error:

"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered."

There are still effects after this message.

When dragging windows, scrolling top-down graphics etc. continue to Flash.

This isn't all in hardcore, the GPU was not operating at high temperatures.

Interestingly, I don't have this problem when I'm in the middle of hardcore games.

The CPU was not under heavy load, the CPU was not working at high temperatures either.

I checked the temperature with thermal control (HWiNFO32).

I have a lot of resources, 1223MB of RAM to spare.

I also have lots of HARD disk space too.

I installed the latest version of the graphics driver for my product: AMD graphics driver high definition,.

    but the problem persists.

    Help, please!

    -John

I understand your frustration, I had the same problem, I really did, for centuries!

    Try this:

Do not go on the AMD website for a video driver. those who do not work properly for some reason any...

Download on the HP site specific to your HP product, for example, I have a dv7 6015tx with 32-bit windows.

Then I'd go to: dv7-6015tx drivers

If you still have the drivers on AMD ATI Web site, uninstall them, restart.

Go to the HP site where you can find specific drivers for your product HP, installation, restart.

It seems trivial, but it's IMPORTANT and most of the time to restart after uninstalling and installing.

It worked for me, hopefully it will erase your questions, good luck.

    Hello

    > Current display driver: Mobile Intel (r) Express ChipSet Family 945GM
And then you want to install a nVidia display driver?
    LOL :D

I think that you can not install a nVidia display driver because your laptop is equipped with an Intel chipset and graphics card.
You will never be able to install nVidia display driver and thus make the message that you do not have the correct material.

Intel and nVidia graphics cards graphics cards are different things, so don't mix do not!
Some P105 was equipped with nVidia cards and others with Intel card and it seems that you have an Intel card.

    Hello

Average was last modified time when this package has been uploaded to the database server. Therefore, there is another date.

By the way: the last pilot, you will find on the page of Intel.
I have a laptop with Intel GPU and I use the driver from the Intel page.

By the way: the resolution of the screen depends on the graphics chip and internal screen.
If the display does not support preferred resolution for you, then you will not be able to select this

    Hello

First, Download the following driver for Nvidia MCP67M (Please confirm if this is correct) listed for Vista from here:

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp37501-38000/sp37860.exe

To check that the video card is on your system, go Start type of search to tab dxdiag and press on Enter. A window will appear. Confirm with YES if any message and click on the display tab located at the top left near tab System . You should see the name of your video card and the manufacturer.

Second, go to Panel > programs and features and see in the list if the Nvidia driver is listed. Uninstall the Nvidia driver and restart the PC. If not, then go to Panel > system > Device Manager (left toward the top corner) > double click on adapters.

You should see the video card. Click with the right click on the Nvidia video card and select Uninstall. Click OK to uninstall.

If a message appears and asks if you want to remove the driver files, Select the check box , and then click OK. Restart the computer.

Third, run the driver downloaded earlier and follow the instructions. Is required to restart the system if the installation program does not work.

    Please post the results.

    Best regards
