  • laptop is not put into hibernation after "standby mode"

    Reference Dell dear community,

    I have an Insipron 17R core i5 zm2410, NVIDIA Geforce 525 m, win8 64bits and I am facing a problem with hibernation mode / sleep.

About 2 weeks ago my laptop went mode hibernation after beeing in mode 'sleep' for 2 hours on battery (for total draining of the battery to advoid).

Now, it is not do it anymore but remains on "sleep" during all the time and drains the battery.

I usually remove the power cable from the laptop during the night because of the noise of the adapter and the laptop always put into hibernation after beeing in mode 'sleep'. I went over the configuration in options plans and power supply and even reset and configured them again, without success.

The only changes made to the system are important updates of windows

I'm grateful for any suggestions or solutions.

Have you checked to see if Hibernation is still active? Open an administrator mode command prompt and type: powercfg/h on.

  • HP EliteBook 8440p: Best boot option after installing the new hard drive and put to memory.

I just installed the new hard drive for my laptop and will get the cards of two memory installed tomorrow. I would like advice on what would be the best option to start when the laptop for the first time I'm on fire.

I have the original Windows HP recovery disk came with the computer.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image on disks created with Macrium Reflect two days ago.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image is created on an external hard drive Seagate two days ago. (I've read mixed reviews on these is currently working as a media of rescue with Win7 Pro).

I guess if I use the HP recovery disc I would be then just use any system image I prefer, without the recovery disk. Anyone know if it makes a difference at all which method to use?

    bozzle73

My recommendation would be to restore using the image of MR (Macrium Reflect) you did.

But then, I used Mr. on all my PCs for years and am a big fan - having had it Miss ever in the years and years of use.

You will need boot from the boot of MR media (you did that right) and, if you photographed all the required partitions for the operating system, restore it on the new drive should take a few minutes, and when this is done, you reboot and everything should be OK.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Problems after installing the second SATA drive in Windows 7

I just install a second SATA hard drive in Windows 7. Currently, I use only a processor AMD Athlon X 2 4800 with 3 GB of RAM, Windows 7 64 - bit, installed on a 400 GB Samsung SATA drive and have two (a pioneer and a Liteon) DVD burners.

System worked fine until I put in the new drive. Previously, I had hung as such discs: SATA1 was the existing 400Go drive, SATA2 and 3 were two DVD burners (don't ask me why, I have 2, will remove one of them, if that's the problem).

Installed the new HARD in the SATA4 drive. Booted up, saw the new drive in the BIOS, but Windows does not see it until I went to disk management, a drive letter assigned and formatted etc. Also, I swapped the drive letters so I had all of the HARD drive (I have my 400 GB split into two readers via the partition) and C: D: E: F: and G:, DVD players.

Started, began to transfer data from D: to the new E:, and Windows crashes. No message error, everything freezes. Need to reset, and then allow Windows to check for errors etc. Return to Windows, same case again. I swapped the SATA cables so that SATA1 and 2 are the HARD drives and SATA3 and 4 are DVD players. Reboot, same case.

What I am doing wrong? Or what should I do? I don't even have to start the transfer of data I just let WIndows running for 2 minutes and it automatically hangs again.

If someone could help me as soon as POSSIBLE please, it would be fantastic. Thank you!

I've been in contact with the provider, and Yes, that will take it back for Exchange. They gave me some ideas to try first, I'm going to do tonight; They asked me to check if the HARD disk is running on series complete ATA (SATA) mode and to enable the DMA if he asks me to. Otherwise, they said, try the fail-safe mode. Don't know if any of them are currently enabled etc but will find tonight.

All else fails, I take that back! Simply means a 3 hours trip to Melbourne to make...

Thanks again guys for your help.

    Michael.

  • Satellite L50-A01Q - WLAN not detected after installing the Atheros WLAN driver

I have a C50-A01Q. I recently replace the hard drive for an SSD. I installed Win8.1 via a DVD downloaded from Microsoft. I also installed the Download Driver Atheros Wireless LAN from Toshiba. However, the system does not recognize the WLAN. Someone reinstall windows 8.1? How did you get the driver?

Maybe your laptop has a Realtek or Intel WLAN card inside. Specification of your laptop does not for me so I can't say with certainty what WLAN card is inside.
Try to install other drivers and check in Device Manager.

  • Put into hibernation and sleep does not

I'm running Windows 7 on HP ProDesk 400 G1 Mt.  Computer won't rest not in mode "sleep".  Followed all the other suggestions forum: passed through Device Manager to uncheck all ' authorize computer startup device; "disconnected all devices, including the router/modem; Cleaning to start the program; has run several programs to identify unwanted programs.   But the computer always wakes up from his sleep periodically, if I put it to sleep or let that stop you with auto power saving function.

I don't get the Hibernate to the start/stop option.  A suggestion of the forum was to go to configsys and activate the hibernation, but I don't have the answer to configsys that would allow me to activate the Hibernate.  Configsys gave me a cbreaks and when I typed hibernation in various forms, I got message that command was not recognized.

  • My new Yoga 2 13 "has not put into hibernation!

    Hi all

I recently bought a Yoga 2 Windows 8.1, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD and I am almost happy with it. However, there are some irritating flaws that I can't fix. One of them is the absence of mode of hibernation, which I use on a daily basis, to avoid launch my favorite applications.

When I click on the 'shutdown' icon, I volunteered with: Shutdown / sleep / Reboot, but no hibernation mode.

How can I report this mode?

Thanks in advance for any help!

As with all PC of Windows 8, go here:

  • DV7-6199us is not put into hibernation when battery low - just died

Some time in the last month or two, my laptop properly leave off when the battery is low.  It's supposed to the hibernation when the battery reaches 10%:

It used to work properly, but now he dies suddenly (off, lose all my work) when the battery is at a level critical.  I don't know what level because he always catches me by surprise.

I tried to change the critical levels to see if I could do to begin to pay attention, but that did not help.

How can I get to Hibernate properly?

    Gary

    Hi garyfritz,

At this point, we have done everything, but replace the battery. Noted that energy seems good but it is two years and the laptop will usually survive battery. Maybe it's time to get a new battery or leave it at the levels you set now.

  • my pc will not come not put into hibernation. It did once but the habit now. ____

I have the monitor turns off in 1 minute.  hard drives off in 3 minutes.  keep in 3 minutes.  Hibernate in 5 minutes. BUT nothing happens

Hard disks turn off, and should I enter stand-by in 3 minutes?

If this is not the case, why not just have the monitor off when you want, and then the Hibernate in any time you want. See if it works.
