Windows 8 balanced food not reflecting options is not in the advanced power settings.

When you set options diet in Windows 8 and he say not to go to sleep, etc. it will refresh all the power settings. Windows Mobile, 8 of my wife and now a Windows 8 office customer have both had the same problem where they'll be sleeping anyway. The resolution is to go to advanced power settings and expand your options until you find the settings are incorrect. So I wanted to just report that there is a bug with the Options of food not properly updated settings as they did in Windows 7.

Hi JonGeorg,

What happens when you create a new power plan? You can try to create a new power plan and check the results.

This problem occurs because the settings that appear on the system settings page are from the registry for the preferred power plan settings.

Changes that you make to the active power management do not affect the global on the system settings page settings, unless you are currently using the preferred power plan. Changes that you make on the system settings page apply to all power plans. These plans to be able to understand the active mode and custom plans that you created.

Note By default, the preferred power plan is the plan balanced in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Refer to this article for more information.

When you configure power options for the active power plan in Windows Vista or in Windows 7, the changes do not appear in the Power Options item in Control Panel

To determine which files can be repaired by the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
    Step 1:

NOTE: When SFC is running, it records its actions in the C:\WINDOWS\LOGS\CBS\CBS. NEWSPAPER. You can find specific entries of SFC searching [SR] tags in the newspaper.

    * Open an elevated command prompt.

    * In the elevated command prompt, type findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > %userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt and press ENTER.

    * Close the elevated command prompt.

  • Parse error SFC "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation".

Original title: my computer is messed up, and I'm unable to fix

    (1) double click on files will open in a new window
    (2) not possible to delete several records
I tried to find and implement several solutions found on these forums for the 1st problem listed above. I tried to go into folder options and disable double click open files option and I tried to replace with original system files according to the http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/folders-open-in-new-window-despite-folder-option/5fba3897-7655-4068-8992-2d8b20063b3f and nothing has worked. I tried to run the command prompt in administrator mode to scan files using the command "sfc/scannow" and even that did not work, as when checking for 59%, it says "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation"
I tried to create new administrator user accounts and the problem persists.
I am also unable to delete some files. Internet Explorer would be my best and later example. I ran microsoft update, it installed IE10, and I was unable to start IE. I have not found in the list of uninstaller, so I tried to delete the files manually but Icould do not, that I needed approval from "TrustedInstaller". I played a bit with permissions and gave myself all permissions, with the exception of special permissions (which was grey), and then he said I needed the permission of 'Administrators' when I tried to delete the folder. Well, I'm on my administrator account, what the devil?
I ran some virus scans of Malwarebytes Anti-malware, Virus of Sophos, Microsoft Security Essentials, and 2013 Bitdefender removal tool and removed something taken before implementing ALL the solutions mentioned above attempts. Try a system restore after that these scans completed, I discovered that I had no restore point before the installation of the Microsoft fix - it (i.e. when I was first trying to tackle these questions)
Is there something I can do?

You could make a backup of the image to a DVD or disk.

update of sql server 2005 service pack 3 error code 6D9E Windows update security does not accept the update

    Hey lasdj,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

If you receive Windows Update error 6d9e while installing SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 by using Windows Update, it means that the installation folders and directories are compressed or encrypted.

To fix this problem, make sure the folder locations where you are installing the service pack to aren't compressed or encrypted, or specify a different folder and then run Windows Update again.

Therefore, remove the compression of the DATA directory and run together to the top again.

Remove compression from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder and see if you are able to install the updates without any problem.

Microsoft windows media player does not retain the previous size. is irrtating so me gift of reorganize its size every time when I open it.plz help I want stable wmp version 11, version 12 is sucks.

    Hello, Simone

I'll assume you're on Windows 7. Windows Media Player 12 is not supported on Windows Vista or XP and as such, you will need to go back to Windows Media Player 11.

You can check the permissions in the registry to ensure that it is able to record information.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

Open the registry editor by clicking on start, type regedit.exe in the search box and press on enter, you may be prompted to continue.

In the registry editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, MediaPlayer, then Preferences.

It should be an element named LastLocation_26, right-click on it and select Rename, and rename it to old LastLocation_26.

Leave the open registry editor and open Media Player, then move it to your favorite place and close Media Player.

In the registry editor, press F5 on your keyboard and check if LastLocation_26 has been recreated.

If this is not the case, there is probably a permissions problem.

If so, the location must be registered.

I'm trying to upgrade to windows 7 Vista but not like the 40 GB c: partition has only 3 GB free. Removed all unnecessary programs, etc. If you only really have Vista on C: drive but still showing 37GB used. Any ideas how I can release another 6 GB of free space.
    Tahnks a lot

I hate to say it, but it would be a great time for a bigger hard drive.  While 40 GB meets at least for installation you really need more for in-place-upgrading a system using 37 GB.  Setup needs space for temporary files, its own temporary relocation, etc.

  • Windows Media Player does not support the codec used to compress the file.

I can't do some of my videos to play it goes on to say that Windows media player does not support the codec used to compress the file. How can I fix?

    Hello

What is the file format of the video files you are trying to play in Windows Media Player?

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file.

You may encounter this error message for the following reasons:

    (a) the file type is supported by the drive, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the player.

    (b) the file might have been encoded with a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. If this is the case, Windows Media Player cannot play the file.

Windows media player will play only the files and videos only if it supports this type of file.

Please see the bottom of the article that gives you information on the types of media files that supports Windows Media Player.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992

If the files are not supported by Windows media player, then you will need to use a few players from third party that supports this file format.
