  Windows calendar - like some other ' standard' Windows 8 applications - is pretty basic and was obviously designed to speed up tasks 'on the fly'. As soon as it comes to advanced settings for these applications, you will need to upgrade to the "long" version

  A good example is changing the 1st day of week / time of starting the day... To do this, you must go to http://Outlook.com (what I called the "expanded version" of Windows 8 Mail, calendar, people... APSS). So, from your browser preferred:

  • Open http://Outlook.com and enter your address email + password if necessary
    ==> By default, it displays your emails
  • Click the arrow to the bottom of the Panel that is located next to Outlook - upper left corner of the page
    ==> This shows 4 tiles: Mail, people, calendar and SkyDrive
  • Click on the calendar tile
    ==> That displays your calendar
  • Click the Options - just before a blue ? - link in the upper right of the screen

  Don't forget to save your changes when you have finished...

  If you sync your calendar with your Microsoft Account, so now when you log in to this new PC with the same Microsoft Account and sync your calendar with the same Microsoft Account you will see the calendar as it was in the old PC.

  I use Photos to make a schedule, and when I import two calendars of Mac, I can't play well together.  By example, if I add the national holiday calendar to a personal calendar already selected for the import, national holidays replacement a date personal when the two entries in conflict.  Users are allowed to several elements to show on a given date (I can add an article manually; and if I have two elements in a personal calendar, they both matter very well).  Does not seem serious if I import successively or simultaneously, the holidays always seem to prevail on personal items.  I am proud of my country, but want to avoid adding those who back in manually (and avoid having to check everything so closely).

  There is no way to have both separate schedules added and share a date.  Tell Apple what missing features you want restored or new features added in Photos via https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html.

  You could create a new calendar with personal anniversaries and holidays.  I think that would be the case with the exception of those holidays that might change the date to when if fell, which is Memorial Day for one.

  The colors of the Windows Live Calendar are really terrible for anyone with a problem that requires more contrast. Surely, there must be a way to increase the contrast on the page using darker more vivid colors. Or all the nerds to Ms not to know that there are a lot of people who really need the contrast gap? I saw that on the last version of Live Mail, it is supposed to be a brush-shaped button, which when pressed would the colors change. Mine has not, however, that or I can't seem to download an update from Ms.

  Looks like 8 win mail application is a total bust. I found the "Windows Live Mail" app where I can add all my accounts and customize the default fonts. The behavior is similar to outlook. hope that helps people.

  If I try to open any picture or video with the Photos App, I get the message:

  This behavior has emerged in the last days and the problem is that Kaspersky has marked these apps as "not reliable."

  Solution:

  (1) open the 'Applications updates' section of Kaspersky Security Intrernet. A new window will open.

  (2) in the dropdown in the top left corner, select 'all '.

  (3) in the search box of the appearance of the upper right corner (the one with the magnifying glass) to Skydrive, calendar, Chat, or any other application does not.

  (4) 'files' (with extension *.html and a few others) will appear. These files will be marked with a red circle and the text 'Not reliable' (or something similar) or with a yellow circle and the text 'Minimum restricted' (or something similar)

  (5) select with the mouse each of these files (one by one) that appeared in your search and press the secondary button. A new menu will appear with the option "move group".   I have a laptop Windows 8 and an Android phone and seeks to find a way to sync calendars between them. I am not too restless on the use of any particular calendar system, but just want to have the same info on the two and be able to change both.

  I spent hours searching for a solution online and not had much luck. I just need to be able to synchronize the calendar on Windows 8 with google calendar app (if anyone has found a solution that works really...), a Windows Calendar app that can sync with a google account or an Android app that can sync with one account Windows (hotmail) or a third-party calendar that can synchronize with both...

  Any ideas much appreciated!

  (Of course I realize, I could just use google calendar online in the browser, but I would prefer something installed on your computer in order to notifications etc...)

  No problem, the field to Hotmail can be left empty.  The address of the server is m.hotmail.com.

• Office 365 calendar items change to the meeting requests

  I used my iPhone for years and synchronization with a local Exchange 2010 Server (on-site).  Last week, I've upgraded to Office 365 online Exchange 2013.  I always use the default Mail and calendar app on my iPhone.  However, I have a problem where my calendar appointments are "converted" into "meeting requests" whenever I have change the appointment on my iPhone.  It is very annoying.

  Here are the exact steps to reproduce this problem:

  1. create a date from the calendar in Outlook.  (I tried this on 2010 and 2016 with the same result).

  2. wait for appointment sync to your iPhone.

  3 open the appointment on the iPhone and change the START TIME.  Just move it before 1 hour.

  4. wait until it syncs again.

  5. now, open the appointment on the calendar in Outlook, and you will see that it is now defined as a "meeting request".

  6. the only way I found to fix it is to click on 'Cancel the Invitation' inside Outlook and then save again, the appointment.

  It is at the origin of the real headache!

  I tested INTENSIVELY and the steps above the problem to happen every time.

  I also tried the same scenario with an Android phone (using the calendar app) and it works fine.  It does not cause the weird happen meeting invitation.

  I also tried to use Outlook to iOS, and it works very well with this application.

  So this seems certainly to be affected ONLY by the default iOS calendar app.

  Are you talking about the email daily from 05:00 on your agenda of the calendar?

  If so, this is a setting in your Google Calendar.

  Sign in to your Google calendar to change this:

  1. Tap the gear icon in the upper right (OPTIONS)
  2. Select the calendar settings
  3. immediately under the CALENDAR SETTINGS is 4 tabs (General, calendars, mobile plant, laboratories)
  4. Select calendars
  5. goto the specific timetable which sends the daily email of the order of the day
  6. Select notifications
  7. deselect a agenda by email
  8. Press SAVE
