Windows 8 crashing, freezing, impossible to pass to 8.1 stop

I have a HP Pavilion Media Center m8200n.  I ran Windows 8 long and began to love him.  Then I downloaded the 8.1 Overview and who liked much better.  Now, I'm trying to upgrade to 8.1 Windows and nothing I did worked.  In order to upgrade to 8.1, I reinstalled my original version 8.0, updated and downloaded 8.1.  I'm in the whole process until the first "reboot", and then I got the message that Windows should return to Windows 8.0.  Since then, the computer will freeze, crash or stop.  I never got after installing 8.0 Windows again.  Yesterday, I reinstalled 8.0 (for the umpteenth time) and downloaded all updates 70 +.  After installation of the 8.0 Windows Update, I received the message: "Failure of configuration of the Windows restore changes updates do not turn off your computer" very discouraging.

We are in orbit! It is probably the furthest I've never been with Windows 8.1. Thank you for sticking with me all day. Let's call it a day!

  • Why my Windows 7 crash/freeze during playback of ANY video

lets see someone can get their head around it because it's driving me around the bend.

Then... I have a media Center PC connected to my TV high definition VGA cable. I ran the XP PC for a long time, but last December, I've upgraded to Windows 7 with my laptop.

Mark 5 months of use of seamless media and integration of network - it worked like a dream and I played HD and SD content with ease.

About two weeks ago, I was watching a HD ".mkv" file in Windows Media Center and Gardner ten minutes in the video, the video just file - both video and audio. I had to turn off and restart the machine and started again the video file. Five minutes after the restart the video file, it hung again (not in the same place in the video). Then, I went and watched the video on my laptop , where it worked fine.

A few days after that (first time I had used it again since he hung up), I started to look at a folder ".avi" of sustainable development. About 1 minute in the video the screen lost its signal (come the little built in the chart 'no signal') and after 15 seconds following the audio cut out as well.

This latter behavior that happens now whenever I try to watch any kind of video SD or HD of any file extension. This problem is also independent of what player I use (windows media Center) and windows media player classic after a minute or if the display turns off and audio quickly follows.

Suffice it to say, I was a little annoyed but knowing a little about good the computers that I decided to try to solve the problem by taking the following measures.

    (1) I uninstalled all my codecs and reinstalled the latest version of the K-Lite Codec pack. The latest version has support for windows 7 so I doubt that it is a problem of compatibility here. After doing this the problem persist, exactly the same as before.

    (2) I checked the date of drivers for my card (nVidia MSI 6200) and saw that they were dated from September 2009. I went to the site of nVidia and found the latest drivers win7 dated April 2010 - I have installed these but the problem is still there.

    (3) I thought, maybe it's a problem with the hardware of videocard real itself. When I built my machine, the parts supplier accidentally sent me two of the same video card so I swapped the existing for a version brand new brand of the same card. The problem is always EXACTLY the same.

So yes - I am quite annoyed and frustrated right now because I have absolutely no idea what is wrong with the machine and how she went from work not work almost from one day to the next.

I would add also that the screen is perfect when you are doing something else on the computer - I can surf, play youtube videos, listening to music etc, and it's absolutely no problem.

Put on a video, and it cancels to display, as I explained.

    WHY?

    halp.

    Hello

    Method 1.
    Change hardware acceleration
You can also try to change the acceperation of material in the middle and check (you can try different)
    1. right click on an empty space on the desktop.
    2. go in the resolution of the screen.
    3. click on advanced settings, then click on the tab "troubleshooting."

    4. set the hardware acceleration in the middle. (here you'll get the only option your video card sound support).
    Method 2.
Uninstall video card drivers and restart the computer and let windows install the generic drivers and then check if the HD videos play fine.

    3. search for multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of the Windows Media Player.

Thank you! I tried what you mentioned, nothing has worked... I plugged a usb keyboard and it works, so I'm starting to believe it could be a motherboard problem. I finally got windows xp pro installed, no conflicts in Device Manager, all the drivers are installed and now running smooth. I removed the keyboard, and re-set, all connections look good, but still not good. the synaptics keyboard works fine and both rt & lft click the buttons. I pulled the ram to inspect it, it's the right speed, ddr2700, and after running for an hour, it was cold to the touch! I'll try to get a new keyboard and replace it, their pretty good work, if still not good it becomes pieces on ebay... lol tx again... Marty

  • Windows Update crashes at startup

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Ideas: Windows 7, install Windows updates KB2467023 and KB2393802 and freezes on the login screen, where he goes on to say: "before the computer, do not turn off your computer.

    • Windows Update
    • Freezes at "prepare your windows, do not turn off your computer."
    • I installed the beta version of Internet Explorer. There was an update for Internet Explorer 9, but thought that was the problem, so I removed the beta version. I am now in Internet Explorer 8, but Windows Update still crashes.
    • I already tried to start windows in Diagnostic Startup Mode and have even disabled all startup items, but that did not help as well. When Windows hangs at logon screen, I cold boot my system and restart mode without failure. Here, windows prompts me to this update of Windows has failed and does not change. It restarts after that and my computer works well but then again, in normal mode, Windows installs the updates again and invites me to restart. I'm back to the problem again.
    • Something to note is that I recently installed ObjectDock from Stardock. This is my first update after installation. But since I already booted in Diagnostic Mode and still Windows could not update, I have my doubts that ObjectDock is the issue here.

  • Laptop Windows XP crashes without apparent motive or reason

My laptop that is running Windows XP crashes and freezes without apparent motive or reason. The only thing it will erase is turned off and back on line

Do not power down. That will make things worse. Use end of task in the after having accessed using Ctrl + Al + DELETE Task Manager.

What is the processor and RAM how much your computer have? Make a right-click on the icon my computer on your desktop and select properties for this information.

Try Ctrl + Alt + Delete, select Task Manager, and then click the performance tab. Under Commit Charge, which is the Total, limit, and the pic?

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.

If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.

cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

We use 5 PC via all current server running the same version of operating system that use the spreadsheet and in most is used only by 3 PCs anywhere, anytime, even if EXCEL is not on the server, it is running locally on the PC.

My guy TI tell me the spreadsheet while working on too big to 2 k! They keep asking us to reduce the size and to separate the workbook to solve the problem. Personally I don't believe a Word, we do not use formulas etc just cells with digital text and the alphabet.

Now last year on the advice of our computer SCIENCE company, we have been advised to upgrade our server and our PC because terminals that they were getting their limit of operation which I accepted. These have been updates middle of last year.

  • Windows Explorer crashes constantly on the new Asus

I bought a new X53SV-SX288V Asus with windows 7 64 bit on it and after installing some programs Windows Explorer crashes constantly for some reason any...

I have restored the pc to factory a couple of times now, hoping it might fix the problem, but it is persistent...

Windows Explorer crashes often and sometimes it seems that the problem has disappeared, but then it happens randomly. When I restart the Explorer usually just, it freezes again and gives me the same error permanently after each restart of Explorer... it just crashes, restarts, block immediately, restart and so on...

I don't know what to do. I'm not much of a geek...

The thing is, the problem occurs only after you have installed programs. Not directly after the time I restore settings, is probably not a hardware problem (I think).

Still, I installed an antivirus before anything else.
First of all, I tried Comodo several times. Then Avira. And now I'm with AVG. Thus, all the programs I download should be good.

Side note: programs Evernote who install are all widely used programs like CCleaner, Skype, iTunes, Chrome,... All of their own websites, so I do not understand how they are the problem.

Is it possible that this is a problem material, even when the problem occurs only after you have installed (well known) programs?

    How to fix this problem?

  • Windows 7 keeps freezing during and after the connection

So for the last two weeks, my computer (a Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 laptop) has been having this problem.

Whenever I try to start Windows, the computer freezes. Most of the time, I'll be able to connect in the first place and the desktop and the taskbar appears normal, but I won't be able to open all programs. The mouse will have a circle "loading" beside him who won't go away, will not come to the top of the start menu and the taskbar will be completely insensitive. When I move the cursor to the taskbar, the arrow usually turns into a circle of "loading". By pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete in the meantime does nothing. The only thing I can do is turn off the computer by pressing the power button.

Sometimes I won't be able to connect at all. The desktop appears as a blank screen, either dark blue or black color. Sometimes the mouse cursor is sometimes visible and sensitive enough to be moved to the screen, sometimes that is not there or completely unresponsive. Whatever it is, there is absolutely nothing I can do when the computer is in this State.  Sometimes the Office does not at all, and I'll be stuck watching the blue 'Welcome' screen until I turn off the computer. Sometimes I can't even that, as the computer crashes as soon as I click on my user icon.

These problems occur when I connect the guest too account. Sometimes they occur when I try to start the computer in Mode safe, but sometimes (usually after many frustrating attempts), I will be able to log in Mode safe mode normally. (Right now I'm in Mode safe mode with networking.) When I try to log on to the guest mode safe account, it always freezes before connect you or displays a message saying that there is "a mistake with the sense of service" or something like that.

While in Safe Mode, I tried entering the system setup and turning off some startup programs. Who gets usually the computer working again for a little while, but after a few days problems reactivating. I also tried to do a restore of the system three times, but every time the restore has failed to occur due to errors (do not remember exactly what). The computer began working again after the attempt, but once more, the problems would be just begin again in a few days.

What causes this problem, and what can I do to solve it for good?

    Hello

It could be a particularly strong virus or malware. Safe mode, I would run my antivirus software on a deep, boot level scan. If you don't have an antivirus, I use and recommend Avast Free Edition: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html (only use the Direct download link).

Other than your antivirus and also run it from Safe Mode, the following malware scanners:

    Malwarebytes': http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html ;  and,

    SuperAntiSpyware: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html .

Again, use the Direct download link only. Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Windows hangs or freezes.

Original title: windows 7 freezes, but still run.

    Please excuse my bad English

    Hello.

I have a very complex problem that is hard to explain and that seems to be very rare:

It's the fourth day in a row that my windows laptop crashes randomly for a few seconds. When the problem starts, first my taskbar freezes so I can't click on anything. Then the entire screen seems to freeze with her, but the applications are still running. When it's cold, my mouse works, but I can't click on anything. When I try to open the by typing CTRL + ALT + DELETE Task Manager, the options are frozen. Then, when I go to my desktop and click on a random point on the screen, left click becomes a right click.

Another thing of fanny, is that my Touchpad mouse does not seem to understand my hand movements. I can move only the mouse itself, but any clicks with her. It is also included the two bottom below him, with does not work as well.

I tried to reboot the system ranging from a week in time, but the problem continues. I then tried to make the C drive error checking, but no change.

I know that I do not have a virus, because I scanned my computer several times after that the problem began.

It said at the same time.

    Help, please.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

You are facing this problem could be that corrupt because the mouse driver. I suggest you uninstall nd reinstall the mouse driver, that might solve the problem.

Check by uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse driver.

    (c) Select Device Manager in system tools that are listed in the resulting display.

    (d) locate and expand mice and other pointing devices.

    (e) right click on the mouse.

    (f) click on uninstall

    (g) restart the computer.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 8 crashes when running 'find the hardware changes' in the Device Manager, requiring forced stop

I just installed Windows 8 Pro on a system that were running Windows 7 without problem.  After completing a clean Windows 8 Pro Setup program, I went from hollow driver installation, but found the package to install for my card its caused Windows 8 Pro drivers to lock up and become completely numb.  I had to force a shutdown by pressing the button for 4 seconds.

Trying to solve the problem, I found that manually install the drivers through the device manager didn't cause any problems.  In addition, installation of the drivers available through Windows Update also worked without problem. However, these two methods fail to install parts of the pilot training included him.  Then I have to uninstall the device from the package of drivers again.  I uninstalled the sound card via Device Manager and selected "Delete the driver for this device."  When I followed this with a "Scan for hardware changes" again the list my sound card, I have found that Windows 8 Hung again.

After trying other options with no resolution, I tried to reinstall fresh Windows 8.   To exclude a possible problem with Windows 8, I opened Device Manager, as soon as I could after installing Windows and ran "find the hardware changes.  New Windows 8 freezes.  I can't place blame on post installation any software or driver.  This seems to be a problem with Windows 8 itself.

A final note, sometimes "find the hardware changes" will actually work, but most often it forces the system to hang.

Does anyone else have this problem?  Can anyone provide assistance? (chart below for comparison)

    Processor: Core i7 3770 k

    Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD80

    RAM: 16 GB

    Video: GeForce GTX 680

    Audio: Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D

HARD drive: 1 x Corsair Force SSD 3

    RAID: 3 x 1 TB RAID 5

It seems that I am victim of dynamic ticks.  Research on my question, I have found several discussions around the ' net for crashes/freezes random in Windows 8, but none of them appeared to agree to my problem.  However, they all had the same solutions.

Run the following command in a command prompt to disable the dynamic ticks.

    bcdedit/set disabledynamictick Yes

I thought that I have that would give a shot, and it worked.  I wrote this answer, I also found that there is a recent update of the BIOS for my motherboard which indicates "Support Windows8 feature."  With the new BIOS applied, I was able to turn dynamic ticks and have been broadcast since w/o freezes.  I also managed to install all my drivers.  Anyone else having this problem maybe try updating the motherboard BIOS, otherwise try the above command.
