    Hi shanethornton,

You can try to download Microsoft Security Essentials from the link below for a CD or a USB key and try to run it on the infected PC and check out them.

  • Virus on my computer. Windows Vista has been altered by the virus and my computer does not have a product key

My computer caught a SERIOUS virus that damaged my beta Windows Vista together. So I've upgraded to Windows 7, however, I have not the key product for Windows Vista or 7. Is it possible to set this up with Windows Vista or 7 because my product key for computers, which was at the back of it, has been erased or worn. There is no name on the back of my laptop sticker saying what product key to use. Thank you!

What virus? How did you know you had it? You run an anti-virus
the program? Which one? Is it updated? Why don't you use not to
    remove the virus?

So I had to upgrade to Windows 7,

Ugh! The upgrade to a different version of Windows does not remove a virus. In
did the upgrade when you have a problem is always a bad
thing to do and will be much more likely to make the problem worse than in
    solve it.

However, I have not the key product for Windows Vista or 7.

Where have you upgraded to Windows 7? Upgrade to a
legitimate version Windows7 is a bad thing, but if you went to one
a pirated version, it is likely to cause additional problems and you
are probably in trouble now and need to clean install a
copy legitimate of some versions of Windows.

Is there a way to set up in Windows Vista or 7 because
my product key for computers, which was at the back of it, has
has been deleted or worn. There is no name on the back of my
laptop computer sticker saying what product key to use. Thank you!

The product key on the back of your laptop is for what version of
Windows it came with and may not be used for all other versions. If you
don't have a product key for Vista or Windows 7, the laptop
no doubt supplied with XP. Is this correct?

If it came with XP, it is very old and it is almost certainly elsewhere
low power for Windows 7. In addition the drivers you need for Windows
7 there are almost certainly not, and you will not be able to run
    Windows 7 on it.

At this point, you are probably in trouble no matter what you do. You
must reinstall Windows XP itself, but you no longer have your
product key and you probably haven't a Windows XP CD no more. You
can try to ask the manufacturer of the laptop to a XP CD and product
key, but I doubt if you can get at this late date.

You can buy a copy of Windows 7, but once, you are likely in a way
low power for the drivers you need and it will be unavailable.

  • Windows 7 is not genuine, once the computer has been infected by the virus of Ransomware

Please can I have help from someone.

Some time ago I was surfing the net when I came across a website, my naiveté made me click on it only to be greeted by a virus. The round about three months my computer was inaccessible. So I left him alone. To unlock a sum of £100 to be paid. I have it has not paid and after the months I had access to my computer again. But all was not how I expected I would soon find a virus, which Windows Security Essentials found and eliminated, thus to discover my version of Windows was not legitimate. So a ball of activation popped up and told me that within thirty days in that my windows activation key should be included. But as I've already said, I had a good no hacked legitimate version of windows before the incident.

So now all I ask if this can be taken seriously until I spent the time to write this, hope that my problem could be solved.

Exactly what the title says. Recently, my computer has been infected by a virus. I ran a quick scan, and then a full scan of my computer and removed 18 Trojan horses. I open MSCONFIG and put it on Normal startup, I pressed F8 to get out of Safe Mode, but nothing works. I'm stuck in Mode safe and now I'm completely lost. Any suggestions?

    1. Close all running programs and open the windows if you are back on the desktop.
    2. Click on the Start () button.
    3. In the search box of the Start Menu () type msconfig and press enter on your keyboard - follow UAC prompt.
    4. The System Configuration utility opens

    6. then click on the STARTUP tab at the top
    7. Make sure that the startup is disabled
    8. Apply - OK - then follow restart guests

Depends entirely on this laptop you have. If it has a 64-bit processor
You can use 64-bit Windows. If a 32-bit CPU, you can't.

If you don't know you have, hold down the Windows key and press
Break | Break. It will tell you if you have a 32-bit
    processor or 64-bit processor.

  • Computer has been infected by the worm 32 blaster... Now I have no sound, can't install/uninstall things, need help!

My computer has been infected last night. I went into safe mode, ran malwarebytes and Microsoft security essentials and cleaned up my computer. But onceI restarted in normal mode, I noticed a ton of questions

-Its completely gone. I cannot listen to music, can not test speakers, cant watch netflix streaming, etc.

-Tried to run microsoft fixit, but I get an error message that the JIT debugger is not found.

Ive been looking online and through forums for all help, but its looks like nothing works!

    Any help is appreciated!

    -Bouazza

Ok. So, I did the clean boot with just the microsoft services to run. In doing so, I was finally able to run Microsoft FixIt. I ran some tests on this subject but it came up saying windows media player and my audio were very good. Yet, I still have no sound.

From then on, I decided to uninstall and reinstall my audio drivers. After I did, I didn't restarted, still no sound.

After having looked well and try a few troubleshooting steps more, it seems that most of he said it has something to do with windows media player. I followed these tips links on running a diagnostic tests (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3517/p/19351382/19768710.aspx#19768710), the only thing that didn't work was a 1 B 63:161 B microphone registration error. But the article said that if this disagnostic dell comes back fine then issues its is a pilot (that I reinstalled the and made sure they were up to date with windows update) or it's a matter of windows.

I still can not play music, watch videos online, heard no sounds test to sounds, hear no sound when the computer starts first, my video/webcam doesn't work, etc..

I could not go through the boot process to see what was causing Fixit to not work, but now Im processes more than audio. Do you think I did the clean boot with just the activate microsoft services, is one of those that is causing the problem?

I am not computer stuff that well outside the bases... Im trying here but I can't find a solution! I couldn't do the diskcheck you suggested that bc it was a bit confusing to me.

    Suggestions more?
