Windows 8 on Inspiron 530

Hi all!

I am interested in upgrading my Inspiron 530 for Inspiron 530 64-bit of Windows Vista 32-bit. Is this possible?

I can't find a definitive answer on the subject after a decent amount of research on the internet.

Inspiron 530

Intel Q6600 Quad

Motherboard: 0F586

RAM: 4 GB DDR2

Graphics card: Radeon HD 5670

BIOS: 1.0.13 (20/03/2008)

Thank you very much for any information, I appreciate it really :)

I wanted just to update everyone. I upgraded successfully from 32-bit vista to 64-bit windows 8! : D

I had to initiate the installation disk and do a clean install. He did not at first because I kept the installation disc in the tray after installing and restarted. You have to wait to tell her he restarts and then take it out very fast.

Also, I got my dual monitor hung while trying to install and which was originally there hang on the installation screen (to prepare). Once I unplugged the monitor secondary and made sure to take out the drive after that he did install worked!

On a side note, I did love this OS. each of my programs main work so far and even the games that I have on steam downloaded and saved my progress: o I also had 2 2gig ram sticks doing nothing (which is exactly what I had installed) and place them on the 2 remaining slots free and have now 8 GB don't total no problem at all. Very happy.

Overall, good work time and great price!

Thank you for you time and effort on it!

  • Does support windows windows vista after a factory reset on a Dell Inspiron 530

I'll perform a factory reset and reset on my Dell Inspiron 530 which has windows Vista Home Premium installed. My question is will download all the drivers and software factory or update the system if windows does not support Vista? It's my first time doing this, and any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Microsoft dropped support for all versions of IE prior to 11 and only allowed up to version 9 under Vista. Also, Google dropped Chrome support for this operating system. Office 2013/2016/Windows Live Essentials all do not support Windows Vista.

Review the operating system at the end of life.

Theres no official free upgrade path to TH2 10 Windows, however, you can use the unofficial 10130 upgrade path. The Inspiron 530 works on Windows 10 wells 64bits TH2.

  • RAM Dell Inspiron 530 (initially 3 GB of RAM with Vista 32-bit), can be upgraded to more than 4 GB, Windows 7 64-bit?

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with 3 GB of RAM, bought 4 years ago, with Windows Vista 32-bit.

Since then, I've updated for Windows 7 64 bit PC and want to upgrade the RAM to 4 or 6 GB.

Site Web of Dell indicates that memory on the Inspiron 530 is limited to 4 GB.  Is this true with Windows 64-bit?

I thought that with 64-bit Windows, you could spend as long as could be installed in the 4 memory locations, well more than 4 GB of RAM.

    Can someone clarify the situation?

  • Issue on Inspiron 530 MOBO replacement

First I want to apologize because I bet that a lot of people before me came before ask exactly the same question, but I need to hear it straight from the mouth of the horse to clear doubts I may, besides I did search for similar topics on the dell forum and cela and nothing conclusive why after pondering for months I should do yet another topic related to dell inspiron 530 or not , but I have finally decided to bite the bullet and we are here. As the title suggests I have questions about the replacement of my dell inspiron 530 mobo broke, it's the G33m02 who, what little research, I can only take up to 4gbs of ram, or 8 gb according to the interviewee (and where is my star doubts) and cannot stand other processors core 2 duo like the one he had, however I have read somewhere in the dell forum that case made for dell computers may have other mobos dell for the same model computer, for example a 530's (which apparently have been sold only in China) motherboard can be replaced by a 530 ordinary because of the PIN and connectors and a few other tech mumbo jumbo that goes completely over my head and I was wondering if I could replace my dell inspiron for a G33M03 or DG33M03 so G33m02 I can also upgrade the processor now that I have access to the core 2 quad processors and 8gbs of ram for some, again, I am sorry I have to do yet another of them because what I saw thousands of people had doubts about this but none appeared to be conclusive enough for me
Edit: Also, I forgot to ask, can I just buy a. G33M03 or DG33M03 MOBOs or not be a manufactured by Dell, also, these two are my only two choice in addition to become another G33M02? Again, I am really sorry and thank you for taking the time to read this

    SETH VALENTINET

The G33m02 is a [cheaper] depopulated version of the motherboard that has only a voltage regulator IC 6, rather than regulators 11 voltage on the motherboard G33m03, that supports the processors Core 2 Duo and Quad Core.

The card mother G33m02 can be replaced by the motherboard G33m03, but food must also be replaced by a unit 350w +, instead of the default 300w unit installed with the card mother G33m02.

Inspiron motherboards are built by Foxconn for exclusive specifications of Dell.

With regard to the installation of a non Dell motherboard, probably best to use a motherboard specs Dell, as the BIOS accept software OEM Dell, for example operating systems, more it will match the cabling of the Panel Connectors front chassis Dell.

    Bev.

PS, I still have an old Inspiron 530 MT of 9 years, with a G33m02 motherboard was updated with hybrid hard drives, Windows 10 and an e8600 LGA 775 processor

  • Dell Inspiron 530 close

    Mr President

I have a dell Inspiron 530, I bought in 2007.  It worked fine until last night.  He comes to close, I have it will re-start stop you it again, finally I connected with dell, run a diagnosis with the material, and all this past.  He asked me if I wanted to restore to an earlier point, and before he was finished restoration, the computer closed again, after all the software operating system seem to disappear, I can not connect to the computer at all, the screen is all black, the logo of microsoft doesn't even show up.  What can I do?

    Bob Brown

    Hi, Bob Brown,.

Follow the steps below to locate the problem:

    Unplug all external devices:

    • A piece of equipment can interfere with the normal Windows startup process. Try to unplug all the devices in your computer, including:
    • Printers
    • Scanners
    • Media card readers
    • Small cradles of media (iPod, PDA, MP3 player, etc.)
    • Digital cameras and video recorders
    • USB storage devices
    • CD or DVD of all optical drives

The only devices you should leave on your computer are your monitor, mouse and keyboard, if the computer is a desktop computer.

Check if you have run diagnostic computer equipment:

To run PSA Diagnostics, turn on the computer and press the several times at the Dell logo screen. This will start the unique Boot Menu. Select Diagnostics to start hardware diagnostic assessment.

This test takes about 5 minutes.

Reset the BIOS to default values:

If your computer is set to the first attempt to start on another device, this can cause problems with the successful start-up of Windows. To reset the BIOS of your computer to the default settings, follow these steps:

    Restart the computer

At the Dell logo on reboot, press of repeatedly until you see entering setup in the upper right corner of the screen.

According to the BIOS, you may have to press a button on the bottom to load the default settings. For example, on the Inspiron N5110.

Press ESC to exit the BIOS and be sure to select Save and exit to save your changes.

Check if the computer starts in Mode safe:

    • Start the computer.
    • Type on the keyboard immediately after the Dell logo screen disappears until you see the Windows Advanced on-screen Menu of Options.
    • (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
    • Select safe mode and press .
    • Log on as an administrator or as a user with administrative access.

  • Recommendations for a second hard drive for my Inspiron 530 please

    Hello

I have an Inspiron 530 standard.

My main 320 HARD disk drive is approaching full and I want to add a second internal HDD.

My intention was to use the new drive as a secondary drive just to store and edit photos.

Can anyone recommend a compatible drive about 500 GB in size I can use.

Can you tell me if there a SATA drive that I need, recommended speed (RPM) and I'll need to get all the connectors etc.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice

    David

    providan

Assuming you have the Inspiron 530 mini tour and not Slimline 530 s version.

You can install any SATA 3.5 "internal hard drive 7200 RPM up to 2 TB without problem.

Discover the brands Seagate and Western Digital, also check the length of the manufacturer's warranty, unfortunately hard drives prices are extremely high, due to the flooding of the Thailand, readers, I bought last September for $40 with a promo, now costs $108.

Instructions for the installation of a second hard drive physically in a 530 are here.

You will need a SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

After you have installed the drive, enter the system setup and make sure the hard drive is "on" [We] and recognized.  The system configuration.

For windows to recognize the second hard drive, it must be partitioned and formatted. Go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management, storage, disk management, right click on the new drive, select format, then you can assign a drive letter.
