Hey, my laptop came with a CD of windows 7. And I want to us windows 8 on it

I tried to install windows 8 on the laptop. It worked and it was so quick and easy, I loved. But the problem is that I can't open the drive windowsmedia, the camera, and I could not connect it to a projector to do my presentations in class. So I again installed windows 7. I want to have windows 8 on my laptop. :( Any advice?

    Hello

I understand how frustrating. Generally, the software does not affect any material of the computer/laptop. If can still run your laptop on in any case, we recommend that you press f8 at start up and run it in safe mode. If you were able to run in safe mode, we recommend to uninstall Windows Live Family Safety to isolate the cause of this problem. You can see the link below for how to do it:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program

If you were unable to complete the steps above, then we recommend that you contact your laptop manufacturer for more help. It is possible that there is a problem with the hardware itself (hard disk, memory, battery, etc.).

    Thank you!

    Buna,

If my memory serves me correctly the free manufacturers update to Windows 7 offer was finalized in January 2010 and it only applies to Vista purchased between July 2009 and then.

  • Wireless is slow on Windows 7 on laptop brand new (Lenovo T510)

I have a new laptop (Lenovo T510) with Windows 7 Professional.

The wireless is slow at home and at work. (I use www.speakeasy.net/speedtest for my speed tests.) At home, the wireless speed is about 1 Mbps. My older laptop (Dell Latitude D630) XP gets 14 Mbps or higher on the same network. If I connect directly to my router, I get speeds over 20 Mbps on my new computer laptop.

I have (even worse) similar results using the connection Wireless at work. I get speeds of 0.4 MB/s wireless, while my laptop Dell (XP) gets 14 Mbps. (Fortunately, I have a wired connection I use at work). At home, however, it is not really practical to use a wire.

I read through the forums as much as I can find, and I've tried several things... which none have helped. Here is what I tried:

    -Updated all drivers network card.

-Management settings power change to "maximize performance.

-Uninstalled software built-in wireless to Lenovo (logins).

-Played clean boots with all disabled non-Microsoft services.

-Disabled my software installed antivirus (Kaspersky 6.0)

The only thing that provided a benefit is disable anti-virus... software but this is only useful at work. At work, if I turn off the antivirus and restart it, I can achieve speeds up to 5 Mbps (remember that my Dell XP laptop always gets 14 Mbps or greater). But, at home, disable the antivirus software does not make a difference.

    Any ideas?

I finally got it to work. I now get wireless speeds in the range of 7 to 12 Mbps. That's what I did yesterday:

-Installed all Lenovo ThinkVantage tools - including updates to * all * optional updates.
-Manually update my network card drivers wireless (Intel Centrino Ultimate - N 6300 AGN) in version 13.1.1.1. (It's at 13.0.0.7 and when I click on update driver, he couldn't find any new tool.) But, I found 13.1.1.1 on an Intel website and installed it.)
-Uninstalled ThinkVantage Access Connections wireless management software.
-Disabled 802.11n Mode (it's been activated) under the Advanced tab of my Intel Centrino Ultimate - N 6300 AGN properties. (This amount has contributed to the work. I received fast performance with this active or disabled on my home wireless network after other changes.)

  • Version OEM Dell off of Windows 7 on a Lenovo laptop

A month ago, I bought a copy of Windows Home Premium from a Web site selling Dell OEM DVD because it was cheap. They don't advertise that the software was software OEM; I found out about it after that it was delivered. My laptop is a Lenovo SL500 but I thought that I could install the OEM Dell version anyway and then install the Lenovo drivers and finally, make a RAM upgrade. Everything worked fine with laptop Windows 7 newly connected after upgrading RAM. The system now says that my version of Windows is not genuine. When I go to the Microsoft support website and run the ActiveX control to locate the product id, it says my product id are not supported in my country of origin.

What I don't know is if its due to the RAM upgrade or because installing a Dell OEM of Windows version on a Lenovo laptop is not allowed. Also, I would like to know if there is any recourse? Please notify. Thank you!

  • I have a laptop Lenovo bought in the spring of 2008 running on Vista Home Premium. After years of basically no problem, I got warnings my memory was almost full.

I have a laptop Lenovo bought in the spring of 2008 running on Vista Home Premium.  After years of basically no problem, I got warnings my memory was almost full.  I'm no computer guy, I'm a retired OTR trucker who now lives for people with disabilities.  I checked my system and found Lenovo had two partitions on the hard drive.  The main logic were my programs were only 30gig on a disk hard 150 gigabytes.

After talking to some friends who know more then me and research, I copied all my personal files on a stick to 4gig and erased the hard drive.  Spent New Years day adaptation of files, wipe the HD, install Vista again and then 6 and hours of updates.

Monday, I installed my old files, installed new software and reinstall some of my previous, as well as several updates of Windows.

Tuesday a finer adjustment and more windows updates.

Today, Wednesday, right off the bat I installed another Windows update.  Update has been installed, computer shut down, restarted, then the computer stopped at step 1 of 3 @ 97%.  I went for half an hour to come back to an error screen telling me I had a corrupted file and to reinstall Vista and using my factor disc repair system.  I wasn't allowed this option.

I subsequently through trying different restarts that File:\Windows\system32\winload.exe has been corrupted or damaged or missing Windows update attempt.  Given that I had my Windows disk that I was never worried before making a boot disk.  I/we (family of 6) do not have the financial means to purchase recovery discs, go to a tech help.  We are ourselves.  Can someone help me out here?  Are all my personal details on my laptop, a lot of money and time tied up in programs, I can't access.

I don't know how this forum works.  My email is * address email is removed from the privacy *.

    P. S.

With all this, if I have to reinstall windows I better upgrade to a 32-bit on a 64-bit?  This will cause problems with existing programs? I see a noticeable improvement in speed?  I checked and I can't change to 64-bit.

    Hello

Since you have a Lenovo, you can try to get to WinRE among advanced startup options (f8) and performa than a system restore or if you must organize a drive to install Windows Vista full version and try to perform a system restore in Windows recovery environment and check if that helps.
For more information, you can consult the following articles:

Rescue and Recovery Tools will allow me to restore the hard drive to factory settings, but I prefer to back up important data first. Rescue and recovery apparently allow backup and pays the appropriate folder / structure of files, but the "Start" option is grayed out.

Then I tried to boot from Windows XP CD but it signals that it has no hard drive, although Rescue and Recovery can apparently go to folder/file structure.

How can I make my laptop Lenovo with Windows 7 require more pressure (or deliberation?) for the keyboard and mouse so I don't have inadvertenly making unexpected orders?

    Hello

Follow these steps and check if that helps:

    (a) click on 'Start' (or the Windows logo key) and select 'control panel '. Select 'Classic view' in Vista, if it is not already displayed. Double-click "mouse".

    (b) access the "mouse properties" in Vista and Windows 7 by clicking on the Windows logo and typing 'Mouse' in the search box. Press enter, and then click 'Mouse', once the search is complete.

    (c) click on the tab "Hardware" select the touchpad and click 'properties '. If the parameters are not displayed, click on "change settings". In Windows 7, click "Device settings" and select the touchpad. Click on "settings".

    (d) change a setting on the touchpad of your Lenovo laptop by pressing the sign '+' next to the option you want to change. Click "OK" when finished to save and apply the changes.

  • I started having problems with the wireless mouse and the carpet of my laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad T420 mouse.

Original title: right click on the mouse itself activating

I borrowed a USB to a person at work and I started having problems with the wireless mouse and the carpet of my laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad T420 mouse. The left click of two devices works normally, however, sometimes she does not respond to clicks and it takes a few seconds to work. The left button was constantly starts to turn on, as if he was stuck. After that I hit Alt + Tab and modify windows it stops for a few moments and starts at a later date. I havo not found a specific condition or a combination of keys that may trigger the fault.

I read a few posts on discussion forums, but all say that it could be a hardware problem, which I think is not, because both devices have the same problem and I'm sure it all started with the insertion of the borrowed memory stick. I scanned the readers to help Symantec's EndPoint Protection and installed Microsoft Security Essentials and performed a full scan, but found nothing. I even restored the system, but the problem remains.
