Windows 8 people's Republic of CHINA (unilingual OEM version in simplified Chinese) can be upgraded to Windows 8 Pro * full * English?

I bought a Dell XPS One 2710 in China that came pre-installed with Windows 8 RPC. It seems that it is a unique language locked in simplified Chinese version.

The standard procedure to add another language changes only partially certain interfaces of applications in English, but the operating system is always in Chinese.

I think so

1 - is the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro with Windows 8 Pro Pack as described here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/feature-packs

2 - or buy a Windows 8 Pro System Builder and just reinstall

Solution 1 is my favorite option, I want to keep the existing configuration and the Dell applications.

Does anyone have experience making 1 or 2?

Thank you.

You should upgrade to Windows 8 Pro in Chinese, then you can download the English Language Pack for free:

To the top of Windows 8 for Windows 8 Pro:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/feature-packs

Language packs are available for Windows 8 and for Windows RT

Thank you Andre, everything is now in English!

For all the foreigners living in China who want to have Windows 8 English I highly recommend to do as described below. It will add the cost of a license of Windows 8 Pro Pack, but will save you hours of waiting, of discussions, resettlement and uncertainty.

Windows 8 CPP that comes pre-installed on all computers OEM in China is locked with simplified Chinese only to the language of the OS.

You can buy Windows 8 Pro Pack, which upgrades the CPP of 8 Windows preinstalled on your new computer to a full-blown Windows 8 Pro with Media Center

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/feature-packs

Pack Windows 8 Pro can be purchased online from China, and you can pay with Paypal

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/terms-conditions-feature-packs

Windows 8 Pro has all the features to download and add language packs.

Start the upgrade using the following screenshots

http://winsupersite.com/Windows-8/Windows-8-release-preview-add-features-Windows-8

You will need an address in China and turn off your VPN before you start the upgrade.

There is only one choice of product to buy the Windows 8 Pro Pack.

The update took a few hours of downloading so start at night and sleep at home.

After the upgrade you have Windows 8 Pro with Media Center always configured with Chinese as their main language.

You need then download and install the English language according to these screenshots pack

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5850-language-pack-install-uninstall-Windows-8-a.html

The US English language pack is 154 MB and may take a few hours to download as well.

Restart, then return to the screen of language making English as your primary language, as described in these screenshots

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5853-display-language-change-Windows-8-a.html

Reboot again, and voila!

PS: after upgrading your Windows 8 Pro is activated automatically with the new product ID, but you haven't lost all common applications of OEM and warranty (Dell in my case).

You always connect to the app store Windows of China and are able to install apps * except * those made specifically by the OEM. In my case, there are only a few and I can't install Renren for Dell for example, but there is also another version not OEM in the app store.

This limitation is explicitly mentioned in the notes here, and I confirm.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/feature-packs

OEM applications that I have installed upgrading are still there and working, then you might want to install everything before the upgrade.

  • Windows 7 Pro non-authentique after downgrade from Windows 10 Pro full.

So I've upgraded to Windows Pro 10 for a full version of Windows 7 Pro. I've stuck with 10 windows for a few days and decided to downgrade. After he was done, Windows came with a message saying that I could be a victim of "Windows 7 Pro not being authentic" or something like that. He says I have 'Build' 7601. The computer I bought came with a key, but it's a full version when I got although it came with a recovery disk. Is there a way to fix this?

  • How can you tell the difference between Microsoft Windows 8 Pro Full version and upgrade?

For previous versions of Windows, for example, Windows 7, it was very easy.  Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade has 'Upgrade' printed on the outside the box in the upper right, as well as on the discs themselves, while the full version does not work.

See here for example of the box: http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2010/193/e/0/Windows_7_Ultimate_upgrade_by_LucasVN.jpg

With Windows 8 Pro, I can't find any distinctive feature.  I bought the full version and upgrade of Windows 8 Pro, but after their installation on several dozen calculates, I lost track of which boxes and discs are which.  And there seems to be no way to understand who is who...

There is never any full retail versions of Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro box. Only Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro OEM System Builder licenses were full versions. It's the best way to confirm.

Since the release of Windows 8.1, in retail box copies are full versions.

  • Windows 7 Pro Full Retail Edition - building a new 64-bit machine.

I installed and registered Win 7 Pro on a 32-bit computer. I have the full retail version, which includes a 32 and 64-bit installation cd

Now, I want to build a machine separate 64 bit of all new components. I would like to install the 64 bit, Win 7 Pro just to the point where I can check that the construction of material and install Win 7 Pro worked.  I should be able to do it from the 64-bit installation CD.

When a system of work is done, I can remove my 32-bit computer, install the software on my 64-bit computer and switch the recording of my 32-bit to my new install Win 7 64-bit.

When I did my 32-bit installation on my current machine, I think I got a 30-day grace period to register for my 32-bit installation of Windows 7.

This strategy works? Is there a grace period of 30 days? Who should I contact at Microsoft to move to the record?

    Ed Perry

It would be helpful to know what version of W7's retail, you have (?)

For example, I have W7 Pro retail.

The COA license key is good for installation on my computer or any other 'one' computer.

With retail W7 pro, I can use it to upgrade to a new computer, if my old one died or I just want a new computer (the old OS is more usable however).

If the HARD disk drive dies I can replace the HARD drive and reinstall without worries.

I can install 32-bit and in a year I can change to 64-bit (and vice versa if I want). There is no time limit on this for 30 days.

There is a period of 30 days at the entrance of the key to the COA on the 32 bit or 64 bit OS, and not on the ability to switch.  32-bit is certainly 'old technology' now and also really limits your choice of 3 GB usable RAM Max!

If your building a new computer, see my article "pinned" Tech PC first about 'breadboarding' a new build :)

New generation of computer? Test the material first.

  • How to add color to the model of the popular Republic of CHINA purely composed of polygons driveshafts

I created a purely composed of polygons triangulated model of people's Republic of CHINA. Each polygon in my model is for a party.

Now I want to add color to the model of the people's Republic of CHINA, a plain color RBG for each polygon.

I'm confused about where I put the color data?

I just want to create the color in the simplest. Not necessarily to use texture or material.

Can I add the RGB color value to the top of each side of the triangle?

Or to use the material attached to each polygon or part?

Or use the texture? (But I have no any file, like the JPG file, which represents any texture. Want just a solid color)

    Thank you

    MD

    > I'm confused on where I put the color data?

Popular specification of Format of Republic of CHINA: SerializeContentTessFace

    > Can I add the RGB color value to the top of each side of the triangle?

Yes, you can (see above), but per-vertex color surfaced opaque and immune to lighting.

    > Or to use the material attached to each polygon or part?

It is also possible, but can degrade performance.

    > Or must use texture? (But I have no any file, like the JPG file, which represents any texture. Want just a solid color)

If the Setup is possible create a custom texture to receive color data is the usual way to go.

BTW, what tools do you use to create the PRC file?

is there a solution for this problem?

    concerning

You can not upgrade to Vista without charge - you would have to pay for the upgrade of Vista (and you can encounter the same problem depending on what version you get).  Here are the valid upgrade paths:http://windows-performance.com/2009/08/13/windows-7-upgrade-path/.  So if you take this path, make sure that you get the right version of Vista, so you don't end up with the same problem again.  It is has also upgraded Vista to Vista paths as well, so make sure you that you consider those as well you're actually able to upgrade Vista to another version of Vista that can be upgraded to the version of Windows7 you (and all keep because if you need to do a complete re-installation you will need all those discs and product keys.

I would try to return the software to exchange it for a different version where you can upgrade (or a full version where you can do a custom installation without the option of upgrade).  It is about the only other possibility that buy a version appropriate - there is no other solution.  You can't do a custom using a version upgrade of the software - installation it may seem to work, but you will not be able to activate and then you will be unable to use the system.

Sorry, we can not be more help, but these are the options.  I hope that the store will work with you.

  • Update Windows 7 Ultimate K to Windows 10 Pro (English)

I'll be able to receive an English version of the free update of Windows 10 if I currently have the Korean version of Windows 7 Ultimate?

Can I choose another language during the upgrade?

Cross language upgrades are not taken in charge, the free update will be installed in your local language. In fact, you must uninstall the language packs before the upgrade.

For example, if the default language of your copy of Windows 7 Ultimate was installed in French and added the English; you need install a language pack for English once installation is complete if you are upgraded to Windows Pro 10. If its 10 Windows Home, you need to install the Windows 10 Pro Pack ($99) to help add features (Windows key + X > Control Panel) and then download the English Language Pack.

You can also download the. ISO for the language you want, create a bootable copy and perform a custom installation. (Please note this means programs will have to be resettled, and your personal files must be saved.)

How to: perform a customized Windows installation

What Windows 10 languages will be available in?

Arabic (Saudi Arabia), Bulgarian (Bulgaria), Chinese (simplified, China), Chinese (Hong Kong), Chinese (traditional, Taiwan), Croatian (Croatia), Czech (Czech Republic), Danish (Denmark), Dutch (Netherlands), English (United Kingdom), English (United States), Estonian (Estonia), Finnish (Finland), French (France), French (Canada), German (Germany), Greek (Greece), Hebrew (Israel), Hungarian (Hungary), Italian (Italy), Japanese (Japan), Korean (Korea), Latvian (Latvia), Lithuanian (Lithuania), Norwegian Bokmål (Norway), Polish (Poland), Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal) , Romanian (Romania), Russian (Russia), Serbian (Latin, Serbia), Slovak (Slovakia), Slovenian (Slovenia), Spanish (Spain, International), Spanish (Mexico), Swedish (Sweden), thai (Thailand), Turkish (Turkey), Ukraine (Ukraine)

Please help me by explaining what I do to facilitate access to the version full? In the past, a copy of the operating system came on a disk with the delivery of the computer?

Thank you for your help, Bob

Microsoft was transferred to a delivery of download-only for Windows 10. Your choice is either by calling Lenovo help for support of physical recovery as mebsterbball suggested, or you can download Win 10 media directly from Microsoft and use the integrated in your BIOS license key to install.

If you want to follow the way of download, you get this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Edited to add: Microsoft Download you will get the full version without recovery tools, drivers or software provided with the recovery of Lenovo. Looks like you're simply wanting to do a clean install. In this case, you want to go on the road to download.

After failing on several occasions, I've used a Windows DVD Pro 8 for another HP laptop and Windows 8 coming!

If you want to go this route, you need to disable secure boot and enable legacy in order to change the boot order.
