Windows 8 Pro upgrade possible for Satellite Pro C650?
Read in forums, but can't see a particular mention of my model of laptop. Short part PSC13A.
Just bought Windows 8 Pro with the intention of upgrading to Windows 7.
Anyone with this model manages to do with success?
Should I first download an update to the driver? Or install Win8 first and then update driver?
Have run the upgrade wizard and seems mostly ok apart from "your PC firmware does not support secure boot if you won't be able to use it in Windows 8.".
That's what worry?
Thanks for any help that you can give a geek MOM. =-)
Secure boot is a new feature of UEFI firmware. UEFI replace BIOS on laptop computers that are provided with Windows 8...
Windows 8 will work on PCs that have a BIOS, you do not need UEFI / Secure Boot.

X220T Windows 8 Professional upgrade possible?
Hello
My x220T (Tablet) is currently running on Windows 7 Professional. I was wondering if this device all drivers should I upgrade to Windows 8 Professional? Thanks for the help in advance.
Jay
Welcome to the forum!
X220T does not meet the requirements of MS to W8.
That said, the operating system is running on it, but you may experience various problems and the overall user experience is likely to be less satisfying than W7 in my opinion.

Upgrade SSD for Satellite Pro A120
Hello
I have a satellite pro A120, which feels a little tired. I did research SSD upgrades to replace the HARD drive, but I don't know if I can update or not. I would really appreciate any advice or information you can give me.Thank you
Hello
You can upgrade the laptop with an SSD. You need a disc SSD SATA 2.5 as the A120 supports the SATA controller.
Not quite sure about the SSD size but I guess a 250 GB should be recognized correctly. -

Upgrade memory for Satellite Pro L20
I use a satellite L20 pro - PSL25E. That this PSL25E means in terms of satellite pro L20 - 102 until xxx. On the support site to keep just the numbers but not this alphanumeric expression. I need this in order to select the upgrade module suitable.
If this can be answered, could someone tell me which module to upgrade should I choose in addition to the existing 512 MB?
Thanks in advanceKlator
It of nice that you have found the laptop model after your own investigation.
However, in my opinion the portable Satellite Pro L20 all support the same kind of memory, if it s L20-259 Pro or Pro L20-174The units are supported on these modules:
DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51) -
How to upgrade RAM for Satellite Pro 4300 Series
Hello
I own toshiba satellite pro 4300. He now has 128 MB of RAM.
As it becomes very slow, I want to improve it with additional 128 MB.
The problem is, I'm not an expert in this stuff and don't know how to do it. I have a friend gave me the extra RAM, but as I have lost the user manual, I don't know exactly how to do the upgrade.
I will be grateful if someone can help me. Please consider me as a "dummy" in the explanation. :-(
ThanxOgnian
Hello
As Lucky said already support memory Expansion can be found in the lower corner of your laptop and it is fixed with two screws. I hope you have the module that is compatible with this unit.
I found the info that Ram module with the PA3005U part number is good.

How to upgrade drivers for Satellite Pro A200?
I installed Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite A200 (psfa1a-003002). And want to update all the drivers for it as well, but I can t seem to find new drivers for it online. Is there a place I can go to find them, or was it a disc that came with the computer that had the Toshiba Utilities who handled the updates that I can download.
I am not the first owner of the computer so no disk came with it.
I can see is the Australian model laptop so if you need drivers you can download on http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/download
I hope that this old A200 is supported for Win7 there is no old or new drivers. It is supported and you can find the drivers, tools and utilities, or you will not find them.In any case, this old piece of equipment works fine with the drivers included in Win7 and after that Win7 updates installation (optional updates).

Upgrade memory for Satellite Pro L20 problem
I buy a 1 GB, 200-pin SODIMM crucial (marked on the module as 1 GB 2Rx16 PC2-4200 s-444-12-A0) and added to the existing module 256 MB (marked as 1Rx16 256 MB PC2 4200 s-444-12-C3)
I can't get the 1 GB module memory I bought the work with the existing 256 MB module. The PC will recognize the 256 MB module in each slot and it will also recognize 1 GB memory module in the other location. However, when both modules are installed the PC doesn't recognize any order they are installed in the module 1 GB. The essential tool memory online seems to think that a slot is empty when it scans the laptop, even if both slots are filled. The BIOS also reports that only 1 GB is present when both modules are mounted.
No idea how I can get the two recognized modules?
John
Hello John
I assume that there is a compatibility issue. If possible, try to get the 1 GB of Kingston RAM module or module recommended by Toshiba.
If you have time take a look here
By the way: 1 GB of RAM is sufficient for your laptop L20. In my opinion with 1 GB of RAM, you can work on this model of laptop.

Windows Recovery CD lost 8 for Satellite C855
Hello
Thus, on December 18, 2012, I bought a Toshiba Satellite C855
(Intel Core i5 - 3210 M 2.5/3.1 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Windows 8, USB 3.0, Bluetooth)After a while, I put windows 7 on the laptop.
Now I want to reformat and put windows 8 and put to upgrade to windows 8.1.
The problem is that I can't find my restore CD.There is no windows key on a sticker on the laptop or the box.
There isn't just a windows sticker 8 under the laptop, but no key.
I read that I can ask for a replacement CD key, but I have no idea how to do that.Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Liam

Opportunities to upgrade HDD for Satellite L30-113
I hope someone can help me on this one. I was wondering what are the possibilities for the upgrade of the disk on a Satellite L30-113. As the largest size of support etc. Or even if it's possible (I don't know much when it comes to upgrading laptops).
If it is possible to upgrade to a larger size HARD drive what should be and what would be the process to upgrade as well as if there is a limit on the maximum size, etc.?
Thanks in advance.
Hello
Each laptop BIOS supports a HARD drive size limitation and therefore, you can only use a HARD drive formats supported.
I used the L30 for a long time and to my knowledge, you could use the 40 GB, 60 GB and 80 GB hard drives for sure. Perhaps that the 100 GB HARD drive might work but I m not 100% sure and can not recommend this size of HARD drive.
However, these hard drives must be compatible:
Toshiba 40 GB - MK4032GSX
60 GB - MK6034GSX
80GB - MK8032GSX -
Upgrade memory for Satellite A10 S811 PSA10E
I want to upgrade the memory on my old laptop, I found the manual and read a bit into it.
It apparently uses DDR PC2100 (266 Mhz) features of two memory slots and only allows that up to 512 mb modules.
Is it possible to use modules bigger or faster.
I hope that the low speed and size has something to do with the time that it was produced before more large modules have been as prevalent as they are today.
Also how many pins is there on the modules, I guess that DDR modules for laptops are different from those of desktop computers. My laptop:
Toshiba Satellite A10SA10-S811
Model No.: PSA10E-0ZJ57-DK
Any help is appreciated.
Hello!
Of course, you can use larger modules.
Chipset supports up to 1 GB of RAM.Fastest modules (PC2700 or PC3200) should not be a problem, but I think that they will not work with the speed of the PC2100.
The part number for 2 x 512 MB RAM is PA3164U - 1 M 51Good bye
