Windows 8 Pro would be runs Qosmio G40?

Does anyone know if the QOSMIO G40 running Win8 Pro?

System is 'only' 4-year-old and Win7 Ultimate without any problems.
However, some drivers for Win8 are found...

The only found drivers are following [this | family = 381 http://nl.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/windows8_drivers.jsp?service=NL&selCategory=2&selF & selSeries = 229 & selProduct = null & selShortMo d = null & language = 12 & selOS = 42 & selType = all & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = allMac hines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = 3 & page = 1] page

If you do not work in safe mode, then you can boot from a XP disc and go into the recovery console and do the same thing.

  • Windows xp Pro chkdsk keeps running over and over again at the start and...

Running the scan and says no errors found and windows has finished checking the disk and then rest on this screen. I'm unable to boot in a mode, including 3 Safe Mode options. Please help me to help my friend with this problem on his Dell PC.

Before this error occurring, we run a defragmentation and planned Windows to check the drive for errors.

Cannot start in safe mode as lists of lines of code system32, then freezes.

    Many Retarts have not helped.

We have not cahnged anything using F2 or F12 to change Boot & startup menus.

When XP restarts, it checks the "dirty bit" on each volume (hard disk) to see if a chkdsk needs to be run on the volumes.

The dirty bit can be defined on a volume if you had a power failure or may have used the power button, had an aborted restart or an abnormal termination.    The only way to clear the bit of impurity on a volume is successfully running chkdsk with error correction (chkdsk/r).

If you have a regular chkdsk in the meantime, he'll also want to run when you restart the system.

When you start in Safe Mode, if one of these conditions are met, XP run the chkdsk command, and during this time, your system will be appear to be stuck, frozen or appear to hang with the last thing on your screen being loading mup.sys - shortly after charges mup.sys is when the chkdsk will start running and the system seems to be stuck.

This suggests that their system is hung on mup.sys when he's really hung at all - chkdsk runs is because it takes or they old to many people is by planning the chkdsk at the next reboot.

I don't know what AVG load and will not install AVG to know.

If your system seems to stop mode without failure and the last thing you see on the screen is mup.sys (or in your case of the stuff AVG), look at the HARD drive access light.

If the HARD drive is flashing, chances are good that the chkdsk command runs either because it takes or it, you have planned.  In this case, you will need to wait outside and if you use the power button, you could make things worse.

You will need to wait outside and this could take some time depending on the size of the volume, the amount of data on the volume and what chkdsk finds to do.

I think that I start your system in the XP Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r from there, so that you can actually see race and what he has to say.  If that chkdsk /r works own (it might take more than one pass), which erases the volume dirty bit.  It will not relieve your a regular chkdsk system, but I would start there.

  • Windows 7 Pro remote printing

I have a HP Envy 4500 all-in-one printer.  I am running Windows 7 and my client I remote in running me Windows XP Pro.  The printer was working well remotely.  Recently, my client set to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro and now the printer will not work.  When I print a test page, it says it is printing, and then he said: this is the removal.  When I tried printing with an Epson 310 printer it worked fine.  We uninstalled and reinstalled print drivers and HP printer on both machines a couple of times.  I also tried to install the printer with it physically connected to the computer as a local printer clients.  All the ideas that Windows 7 Pro would print then delete the content?

    Hello Claudia,.

    1. You receive an error message/code when you try to print using the HP Envy 4500 all-in-one printer?
    2. Work on the domain environment?

I suggest that you run HP print and Scan doctor to find and fix common printer problems.

Try printing HP and Scan Doctor for Windows

The print spooler can be the cause of the problem, I would recommend that you print queue.

Here is the method of stop print queue to force Windows General.

    1. go into Start, control panel and administrative tools. Double click on icon Services.

    2. scroll down to the Print Spooler service and right-click on it and select stop. To do this, you must be logged in as an administrator.

    3. then you must go to the following directory: C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS. Delete all files in this folder. This will clear all print queues.

    4. now you can go back to the Services console and right click and select start the print spooler service.

You can also go to a command prompt and type net stop spooler or net start spooler to start and stop the service.

Hello everyone.  My computer is adjustable having the dual boot with Windows 7 Pro on disk 0 (320 GB SATA Seagate Barracuda 7200.11) and XP Pro disk 1 (40 GB SATA Samsung SP0411C). As the two systems are available at the start but most all the time Windows 7 Pro would use. The computer is Compaq 7100, WCL PP255US, 3.2 GHZ Intel Pentium 4, 3 GB of ram, Council ch h 0968, bios HP 78 1 v01.05 16/06/2004, chip Intel 915 G Express.  According to the website of Seagate Barracuda 320 GB with (quote), ' he not there no master/slave because every player relationship is considered to be a master in a relationship from point to point.» If two drives are connected to a Serial ATA host adapter, the host operating system considers that the two devices as if they were the two "masters" on two ports separated. Both drives behave as if they were device 0 (master) devices.  On the drive Samsung (SP0411C) I put a jumper for master, it is connected to the motherboard instead of disk 1. Used rider illustrated for Samsung SP0411N since I did not see the SP0411C listed. When selecting information for Samsung Seagate site sometimes showed data for their readers. This is perhaps due to the recent acquisition of Samsung or maybe my mistake.  Tried swapping around wiring of each drive but that didn't work of course. Looked at the settings in the BIOS but did not see a way to create the dual boot.  Please let me know if you need more information. If you know how this can be done or have some suggestions, please let me hear it. As always, thank you very much for your comments.

    Oscar

Hello oscarmint, I checked the specifications of your system and it does not show the system supports two types of hard drives.

The system supports only Serial ATA (Sata) synchronous Maximum 150 MB/s transfer rate

You would need to make the jumper on the Seagate 320 GB Sata Drive pin, set at 150 MB/s.

You are right that the Seagate would not Cable Select or slave settings and it would be the master and only on cable.

If the 40 GB hard drive is a type of ATA (IDE), you'd better put as selection of cables (CS).

  • I have a problem starting up a Windows XP Pro Machine virtual Windows 8 host system (which has VMware Workstation 10.1).

I am new to the virtual machines.  For several months I've been running a Windows XP Virtual Machine in an old machine of Windows 7 with VMware Workstation 7.0.  The hard drive is having some problems at times, so I thought that I could move the virtual machine on a new computer that has an OS 8.1 Windows and VMware Workstation 10.  For example, on the Windows 7 machine, I copied the directory with all the * .vm files and pasted into the machine to Windows 8. But when I tried to start VMware Workstation 10 in Windows 8 machine, I got the message "this virtual machine policies are too old to be run by this version of VMware."  I went to the knowledge base and used the solution described here: I've deleted the lines of three 'policy' of the .vmx file and added the suffix .ancien to the .vmpl file, which actually disabled.  Now, when I try to start the virtual machine, the black screen appears with the VMware logo in the Center and everything seems fine, but Windows XP starts.  And logo VMware guard churning away as in a continuous loop.  It is not easy to stop.  The only way to stop VMware is via the Task Manager or restart the machine.

What must I do to get the Windows XP Pro VM to run in the new machine?

VMWare technical support suggested that I have disable 3D acceleration (VM > settings > view and uncheck the box 3D graphics acceleration).  The virtual machine starts now with some minor problems, but it is usable.  But by closing accel 3D turns, in the words of the Technical Support Engineer, David, that there is "a problem with the graphics card not imitate or through its capacity to the virtual machine.  In other words do not support to the VM guest 3D acceleration. "My next step is to make sure that I have the updated driver for the Intel HD Graphics 4600 display adapter.

    Minor problems are:

    (1) the virtual machine works best in screen mode reduced.  There are a few problems speed mode full-screen.

    (2) the VM will still work after switching on of the host.  But after execution of the virtual machine, if power you the virtual machine and the release of VMware workstation, then later, start the workstation, the virtual machine will power not.

To turn it on again you must out of VMware Workstation, disconnect the host machine and then reopen it in one.

  • Qosmio G40 - Intel Turbo Memory issue on Windows 7

The Intel Turbo Memory does not work in my Qosmio G40 Windows 7. I tried different ways to install the drivers but only the work of the Intel Matrix Storage Console.

If I try to install the full Pakage Robson, the material remains marked as a problem in the Device Manager and the computer crashes every time he goes into mode 'sleep'.

Is there a way around this, or should I disable this feature (which was working under Vista before)? thanx

    Hello

This feature isn t so important because he doesn't make a strong performance gain, but in your case I would try to update the BIOS. Maybe it will work or let's say that the computer goes into mode 'sleep' correctly again. The latest version, you can download the Toshiba site.

What Intel driver, you have exactly? Have you tried the Toshiba site?

  • Qosmio G40 Windows XP - some drivers/utilities missing

    Dear all,

I would be grateful if anyone can tell where I can get drivers/utilities for Windows XP for the following:
    -Flash cards (to make the combinations of work: switch between monitors, brightness, ets);
-Shortcut keys on the keyboard {eleven buttons}.

All the other drivers/utilities have been found/installed/proved to work correctly. XP seems to work a lot smoother and faster on this beautiful piece of hardware.

    Thank you for your help,
    Kind regards

The utility of flash cards is only available for Vista.

I looked on the page of the Toshiba driver and, unfortunately, but I didn t see the XP drivers for the Qosmio G40 at this time.
I assume that you've found the XP drivers some currents such as graphics card or driver sound on 3 third-party pages. But to use the features of Toshiba as button of keyboard shortcuts, you will need a XP driver and tool designed especially for this laptop.

Looks like the drivers are not available at this time and we will have to wait until XP drivers will be sorry, but I really put t see another possibility.

  • Qosmio G40 - webcam and windows live messenger

Well I've had this problem before and was solved with the installation of Service Pack 1. Well now it comes back to haunt me again! Windows live messenger does not register the webcam. The cam works and I am registered in the control panel etc. It is only on live messenger it does not...

As described above, I have a Qosmio G40 with Windows Vista Ultimate and windows live messenger.

Live messenger is set to allow phone calls and Messenger live in general - but there is no exceptions for webcam in the Security Panel?

Looks quite simply that the cam is not lit - I have a black screen with static...

    Any ideas to fix this?

    * Download driver Chicony Webcam drivers from Toshiba Web site section was updated. If you can't find an updated driver, try a new driver of another model of Toshiba.
    * Install the Service Pack 1 of Vista, or Vista Hotfix KB934374: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374 (KB934374 is included in SP1)
    * Update your e-mail software (MSN/Yahoo Messenger, etc...)
    * If you have another program that can use the webcam (e.g. Skype), make sure that they are completely closed and not, sitting in the system tray.
    * Try to close the bar Assistant camera on the left side of the office.
    * To stop the Camera Assistant software from running at startup, run Regedit and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Camera Assistant Software".

  • Qosmio G40 - infrared chipset not detected by Windows 7

I upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista and found that my infrared chipset (SMSC SIO1049 SuperIO chip) does not appear in Device Manager.
According to this page, it should appear as an unknown driver (ACPI\SMCB0C0)
    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd567986.aspx

The IR remote control provided by Toshiba does not work (it used to work fine under Vista). All the world had the same problem B4? How to fix you (if you resolved at all)?

Does this mean that Ineed to wait for the next update of the BIOS (my BIOS version is 2.20)?

    My computer is a Qosmio G40 PQG40 02201NCE.

    Hello

If the device is not visible in the Device Manager, not even as an unknown device, then this means that the device does not exist or was not detected by the BIOS.

Usually, the infrared receiver must be visible in the Device Manager under:
Human interface devices - > infrared receiver SMSCIR

In system devices, you should see the device consumer infrared.

Don't forget that you have enabled devices hidden sow option perhaps of Device Manager, then you might see this

    Please also check the BIOS
I'm not very well if the infrared device option would be listed in the BIOS, but you should check it m

    Hello

You are right. The XP drivers are not available at this time on the Toshiba driver page. I didn't find it too. Looks like we have to wait...

    But listen;
There are some XP drivers for another Qosmio series; G30 for example.
You can try to install these unique pilots because many laptops are equipped with the same features and drivers may work too.
