Windows 8 slow navigation questions?

I installed windows 8 pro on my HP Pavilion dv7 notebook (product A6X02UA #ABA number).  Since I installed the new windows, none of my browsers are working correctly. Chrome does not at all. Firefox and IE take extremely long time to load pages or they don't load at all. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Really easy solution.

I had the same problem.

Launch IE or another web browser "as Administrator", then load web pages as fast as they should.

You can set IE to always "run as Administrator"

Run as admin is available in point 8.1 of Windows using IE 11

IE right click-> properties-> shortcut-> properties-Advanced-> check the box run as administrator...

If you have several IE shortcuts do the same thing on all the shortcuts to run everything as admin...

  • Windows 8 slow down browsing, explore everything slow, slow - Solution involves (defective)? Microsoft Windows backup process?

I have a new PC of Windows 8 with all the OS updates carried out.  It was not long before the loading of the page on Internet Explorer took a minute (with messages frequent that the page was not answer and I wanted to get the Web page).  The same was true for the launch of Windows Explorer to browse the folders on the computer.  A quick look at the Device Manager revealed that the internal memory use was about 37% always, who initially does not sound an alarm for me (but it must be, I guess!).  Meanwhile, there was nothing wrong with my broadband access - Ookla was speedtesting to almost 20 Mbps.  I searched the web for answers - using search terms such as "fast and slow navigation broadband ' and permutations on this subject.  There were a lot of hits - a lot of people have had this problem, but there is that none of the solutions proposed who worked for one of these people who ask the question (and solutions did not work for me - a commune was ' stop using IE - use Chrome instead! ")  This has no effect).  Norton Internet Security, Spybot, and MalwareBytes found no problem.

Finally, I took another look at Device Manager and reinforced with all the running processes.  I noticed a strange thing - a process called "Microsoft Windows Backup" was running - and it was in the list of processes about 8 times.  Some iterations were using up to 20% of available memory - others used none.  I went through and started to kill these processes.  At first, I just couldn't do enough quickly - they would reopen not almost as soon as I closed the.  Finally, with lots of quick click, I killed all and none reopened.  I went back to Internet Explorer - and found blazing fast page loading.  My Windows Explorer was also back to normal - I was browsing directories at a good pace.

So the question is...  WHY 'Microsoft Windows Backup' ran several times in Device Manager?  Is it really 'Microsoft Windows Backup' or some malware masquerading as such?  And if there is a problem with a backup context process, how can I make sure it is disabled and remains disabled?

    Thank you!

    1 way of working!

Historical files was already off, I had several instances of "Microsoft Windows backup" processes running and one of them would be 30 or 40 percent (he jumped of a process to another).

What is the process and why did start? (or was it always ongoing enforcement & suddenly become a CPU hog?)

    Hello

I have a HP 14-r015tx running Windows OEM (preinstalled) 8.1 update and update Windows via Windows Update today (08/11/2015).

I have this problem where whenever I start my PC after Windows loading-black-screen with the HP logo (this approach indirect loading animation), get this screen "Please wait...". "so long as about 4 to 8 minutes until I get my account picture and the name with the 'Welcome' screen and my office appeared. I tried a lot of things:

-Defragment all my hard drive partitions,

-Optimize all my partitions of hard disk with the Windows defragmentation tool,

-Used TuneUp and clean all the junks, defragment the registry clean registry and redefragment my hard drive partitions.

-Uninstalling most of my games and unused applications (have 36.4 GB of free space on C,)

-Use cleanmgr and cleaned all the possible junks from there.

-Updated Windows 8 on a regular basis, and I just updated on 8 August 2015.

-Looking upward on my hard drive deep and my records and clear on the unused entries.

-Turn off much, services.msc and start apps services

-From msconfig, I put a few services, and

-Updated my BIOS HP PC software.

I do not understand on this subject. I tried many things and I can't fix this crappy Windows 8.

    In conclusion, my questions are:

    1. How do I fix this shit?

    2. can I I defragment RECOVERY (D [2 GB] partition?) (I think it's the Windows Recovery Partition)

    Thanks in advance.

  • Windows XP Pro SP3 slow navigation and performance of the Internet network

I am running a Windows SBS 2008 domain with 70 clients - many of which are Windows 7 Pro (and not affected by performance problems) and other clients are Windows XP Pro.  Recently, apply 2 updates to all Windows XP clients to a problem of double authentication with RDP Server 2008 platform - two updates are http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969084 (install the RDC 7.0 client upgrade) and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951608 (adds the registry entry in Windows XP to enable CredSSP).  Now, the patches of handsets allow RDP clients to Server 2008 platform and enter the credentials of the user only once.

However, given that these updates have been applied, about 7 of 20 Windows XP clients are extremely slow performance when searching for network resources (sharing drives, Outlook / MS Exchange and Internet browsing synchronization).  Not sure if the 2 patches are coincedental or related.  I tried rewriting changes from two patches, drivers NETWORK card and even tried to replace the NETWORK adapter with new ones.  No change in performance.

However, can I uninstall / reboot / reinstall the Client of Microsoft Networks and clients perform as expected.  Over time (sometimes), the problem reappears.  I have been through the event logs and don't see any errors that indicate a failure to communicate on the network.  All clients receive assignments IP from the DHCP server and updates are managed via WSUS.

Ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

  • Windows 7 slow login / delay authentication question user wireless via ACS 5.8

Just set up a new ACS 5.8 farm (only 2 servers) here and which I hope someone here can shed light on the difficulties.

The new ACS server is set up to correctly authenticate administration network device and I am currently working on the definition of profiles for our wireless users authentication and business laptops.

Being new to this version of ACS (we will migrate manually ACS 4) I followed an excellent example of this task described in a video on this site: http://www.labminutes.com/sec0044_ise_1_1_wireless_dot1x_machine_auth_peap

I managed to have a Windows XP sp3 client authenticate properly, first with the authentication of the computer, then the authentication of users... and the domain logon process takes place in a short period of time< 1min="" and="" the="" user="" gets="" all="" their="" networked="" drives="" via="" the="" domain="" login="">

However, I'm fighting to get our Windows 7 clients to authenticate properly.  It seems that the machine authentication does not work as expected (I can ping the laptop test from another machine on the network while the test machine is sitting at the login screen; and I see Authentication host recorded in the papers of authentication Radius ACS).  But, when a domain user logs in with his credentials, the connection process takes 4-5 minutes before an event to authenticate the user is entered in the register authentication Radius ACS, after which the login process completes, except that the domain logon script does not work and the user does not receive the drive mappings.

Can someone point me in the right direction here?  I would be grateful any entry on this.

    Thanks in advance,

    John

I had a similar problem with Wireless 802.1 x Win 7 clients unable to connect unless they had cached credentials of the AD.  Authenticate in the machine, but the user would take a lot of time if the Windows credentials have been cached.

I could solve the problem by expanding the ACL of the air space used during the user authentication to include all DC in the environment.

  • HP Envy, Windows 8 slow, late and does work does not correctly

    Hello

First off let me give a run down of my installation:

-HP Envy Dv7, (about one and a half years)

    -Windows 8.1 (I upgraded windows form 8)

    -HDD 750 GB (Stock)

-Everything else is stock based on the computer

So, my trouble started about 3 months after what appeared to be a routine stop after a day use.  The next time I started my computer took a lot more time to start, I got an error that talked about my control center catalyst having an error and does not and that nothing would be open to all.  After the merger with different ideas on how to solve the problem, I dropped and it factory reset.  This fix has worked for the whole two days were once again, I got the same problems, I did another reset and when it does not work I gave up for a while.  About two weeks ago, I again have to reset it and then updated for windows 8.1through microsoft dreamspark.  This seemed to fix my kind of problem, the same questions (not counting control catalyst who never returned after the update) would be upward if I have it plugged anything in the USB drivers.  Now for some unknown reason which was not the case for my wireless mouse which worked just fine.  If at this point, I have a mouse plugged wireless and no problem whatsoever.  One day I shut down my computer with the mouse is always plugged (I never do usually) after I do all my troubles to come back but enlarged.  I tried to do just a refresh of windows but it says that my hard drive is locked and let be honest I really want to keep refreshing and resetting my laptop and lost al my stuff.

So now, here's a list of my exact problems in most occuences recentof, now:

-Slow start and typing in my password take like five minutes to register that I typed in fact anything

-l' unlock screen is for like five minutes

-My Office take a good ten mintues to load all my icons and others

-J' have a popup that says IEWebsitelogon, not having that take a long time to close

-EACH window is delay, that is difficult to change their size, move about minimize, close, etc...

-Every thing take > then five minutes for open including Manager, start menu task

-Much more delay and related issues

What is one thing to hard drive? They are not too expensive to replace, so I can get another copy of the win8 form my school so if that is the question that is very well.

I really need help, my computer is basically usless, I am a student I need my computer please help me.

    Hello

As you probably know, the error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  It is also entirely consistent with the problems of performance, as you describe in your initial post.

If there is no help, the player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

750 GB hard drive for laptop.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 56 of your & Maintenance Guide.

original title: XP slow or nothing answer

    Hello

Many things contribute to this slowdown to a computer, it could be hardware or software related.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:
Computers get slower for various reasons: files become disorganized, unnecessary software consumes resources, readers of network unused slow start or too many programs run automatically at startup. Larger, serious questions can dramatically too slow down your computer's performance. You may have a virus or have need troubleshoot clean start.

Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state.

    a. refer to the article below for the procedure safe mode in Windows XP
A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Step 2:
    b. you need to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing and then disable or remove.

  • Windows boot slow.and installation of the drivers.

Original title: Watch Windows reinstall the motherboard drivers?

I just got my computer fixed and reinstalled windows vista home basic 64-bit. A week later a windows popup (windows new hardware detected) driver installation said that windows was reinstall some system drivers. This does not block it. From time to time once (not all start-ups but most) windows has a very slow start and when I connect the popup apears. The drivers are all motherboard related so I contacted the manufacturer and they just said to reinstall the drivers and if it does not reinstall windows. The system has a very slow start up. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes to get to the login screen. A final problem, time continues to reset. I do not want to reinstall windows, and I don't want to take it to the computer repair shop and wait another week. What should I look at?

  • Photoshop CS3 for Windows very slow

I use Photoshop CS3 on a Windows Vista Help. He got a quick bicoeur processor. In the last couple months Photoshop started to run so slowly that it is virtually unusable. I have reset the preferences again. I brought up the RAM in the PC from 2 GB to 4, and offered no relief. I allocated more RAM to Photoshop. Nothing did.

I reached a breaking point today and spent a whole day of troubleshooting. I have concluded that it is a problem with the installation of Photoshop, asking way too much space to work. For example, when I open a 2.5meg file on this computer, it requires 3.6 GB of disk space to work. When I opened the same exact file on another machine, you must only 95 megs of disk space to work. I more than 4 GB of available disk space for the use of disk work on the affected machine, but the fact that it is done all this reading and writing to a disk hard kill the performance of the application.

Of course, there is a problem with the installation of the software. I tried to reinstall, and it does not help.

I called Adobe tech support line, and they don't touch this questions. They wanted me $39 to even hear what the problem was and said that they were not sure they could solve any problem - load especially one like that - after accepting the payment. (So, why would I give them a credit card number?) They suggested I post here instead. (Uh, great support strategy, huh?) I'm a little frustrated, if you can't tell...)

OK, so off the complainant now. Ideas for what I can do - short clamping this PC and buy a new one to reinstall on?

    OliverSSSSS wrote:

Yet one thing I might add that could lead a thought for someone. When I launch Photoshop, the boot process hangs for about 2 minutes on the stage where the application is 'reading preferences.'

I assume that already reset you your preferences as described in the FAQ.  http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/375776?TSTART=0

You must physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if you use the Alt, Ctrl, and shift, don't forget you get a confirmation dialog box.

This resets all settings in Photoshop default.

Another source of slowness can be no local printers or on the "recent" list files that are on the network drives.

  • iMac (retina) - Fusion 8 - 10 Windows - very slow

    Hi guys,.

I need help troubleshooting a Windows 10 virtual machine that runs at snail's pace. Installation program:

    -iMac (retina 5 k, 27 inches, end of 2015)

-Processor: 3.2 Ghz Intel core i5

    -Memory: 8 GB

-Storage: 1 TB drive of Fusion

-Graphics card: AMD Radeon R9 M390

    -OS X 10.11.6 (El Capitan)

    -VMware Fusion 8

-10 Windows Home / 64 Bit, completely updated according to the settings / Windows Update.

I installed Fusion 8, installed 10 Windows using the ISO from Microsoft site and added VM Ware Tools. The installation went without any problems.

VMware for this Windows 10 VM parameters:

    -CPU: 1 heart of processor

-RAM: 1 GB (shown as recommended in the control panel)

    -Hard drive: 60 GB

I adapted only screen size settings in order to have Fusion / 10 Windows using the full resolution on the Retina display (Scaled high resolution) for unity and full screen. "Accelerate 3D graphics" it's on.

I'm now trying to use this virtual machine and it is extremely slow - both in full screen mode and one-stop shops. For example, after you click the icon on the start menu, it takes about 10 seconds until the start menu appear effectively. Chrome opening = 90 seconds. What switching applications or dragging of windows, you can sometimes watch the screen redraw. Sluggish _really_.

OS X monitor shows only moderate, activity should the CPU activity.

In the Windows 10 VM, the Task Manager / processes tab shows moderate (30%) Support CPU but memory, its use is constantly between 90 and 100% - even when no apps are open. However, no task stands out as a resource hog.

I went on "Pre-allocate disk space" in the control panel merge and change RAM of 2 GB to give VM more. Performance feels a whole little bit better, but the load high memory remains even when the system is idle.

This feels like a cheap $ 250, low-power PC. Is this normal?

    I'd appreciate any help here.

1 GB of RAM for Windows 10 is far from weak. It will be 'run', but not well. Even 2 is pushing it. 1 processor is pushing it too.

It behaves like a PC $250 because that's essentially what you have given to resources.

  • new updates of windows, firefox slow to open

My computer installed two new windows updates... KB3021917 and KB3006137. Since then, Mozilla Firefox is slow to open. It takes at least 5 minutes. However, once the internet is in place, it works fine. It's just the process of the opening of the internet. Help, please.

    Hello

I did some research and found out that it should be good if you ignore these two updates.

  • When I open too many windows, Firefox slows down

I use Firefox for ever and I am currently using Windows 7 64 bit. As far as I know, that nothing has changed on my end, but Firefox started running slowly after opening the windows of. How I usually use the program and have done for years, is to open pages in a lot of different windows and close them as needed. This does usually cause no problems and I can leave the program running for days at a time, works perfectly well.

Last week however, something changed. Now when Firefox starts up first, it works very well, as expected, but then after a period of time, usually in a day, sometimes within a few hours, it starts sensational "gunked upward." At this point, when I try to load a page in a new window, instead of load instantly, there a second or two, during which I can not move to any other Firefox window, but all other running programs work very well. This State continues and grows slower and slower to load new pages, until I closed and reopened Firefox, then the cycle repeats.

Again, this is a new situation, my normal behavior would not normally cause this kind of slowdown even after a week or more of continuous service. I ran a control of viruses and malware, without success control on either and other programs are not affected. I tried to restart as well, but the problem came back shortly after. I also turned off most of my modules, including those that have worked well for months or years, and still no change, it slogs always down after some time. My Firefox is also currently up-to-date, of course (27.0.1).

    What is going on?

OK, I put some time in troubleshooting and think that I thought about it. After going in and out of safe mode several times, I reduced to a problem with Adblock Plus. With him in the distance, I could open a ton of windows, with it on this subject would begin to slow. A quick workaround solution was that if I went in the menu of the Addon whenever he began to slow down and disabled Adblock and transformed then turn it back on, it would reset the downturn, but I went to their own support site and came across people with the same problem solved by picking up a beta version of the addon. Since the installation, I got no problems.
