Windows 8 will not check for Updates, and will not install Chrome
Hello
I have worked with Windows 8 since May and I've always had minor problems. On the one hand, my wifi turns off on its own unpredictable way. Also, whenever I want to check the updates, I get a screen like below:
Just empty under the update section. In addition, anything, I can not install chrome. All these problems happened after that I am connected to a WiFi signal and it turned off my Wifi. I had to re - activate the wifi in the settings. Please help if you can thank you very much!

Windows 7 crashes when checking for updates
So, I installed a new Windows 7 on my PC and it went well. Downloaded a few updates, including SP1. But after that, it will not download updates, it is just there 'check updates'.
I tried almost all the solutions I found, restart services, rename folders, running orders as "sfc/scannow", execution of the diagnostic tool (which fails with the 080070002 error) and even remove and reinstall my network card drivers.
So I'm here, do another post about this. And I'll gladly try everything WHAT you can suggest to try to solve this problem, even if we do all this stuff. Just to get this with.
Thank you in advance for your help!

I tried to copy the url of origin of the first window for can jump the debates when I was clear to do, but unfortunately it isn't copy-able.
The update:
- Click (in Firefox) help > about Firefox > check updates
- It downloads / installs the incremental update, so that you do not need to download the installation program complete, largest in the link below and is fully automatic
- Download, SAVE to the desktop, close Firefox, and then click the file downloaded to install/update:

I'm trying to set up a wireless connection to a desktop computer with a wireless card. It is however that requires an update for Windows XP SP1 hot KB822603 of difficulty. I looked on the microsoft Web site and that you find it. So, I tried simply update service pack 1 by putting it on a disk and download on the desktop. However, it still requires access to the internet, which I did not (hence the reason for the wireless card). Any suggestions?
A friend to download the file here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=733dd867-56a0-4956-b7fe-e85b688b7f86
Burn it to a CD and use the CD to install on your computer.

What is happening with Windows Update from 18/01/2016 When I find out Windows Update in Control Panel, he said, with a big yellow sign warning, "install new Windows Update software to check updates. You must first install an update from Windows Update. Your automatic update settings will not change. To install the updated Windows Update will automatically close and reopen. »
Only Microsoft would think of this UPDATE TO SEE THE UPDATE.
When you click on install, it starts running AND running and checking for updates and there is no display. It must be download them?
When I go to shut down the computer, there is a big yellow exclamation on the Start button that says that Windows Update will install updates before its stop point. So it takes a while to stop.
I also noticed that in Windows Task Manager > process I have an iexplore.exe process * 32 running 120, 600 KB.
It stopped when I changed the Windows Update option stop the download and installation.
The computer is running very slow and erratic.
I just reinstalled Windows 7, so I have to do all the updates.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Thank you

Hello drjoe_anzaldua,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.
Usually the "Windows is unable to Check For Updates" error message produced always of the blocker window update connection attempt.
1. first of all, please check that there is no any third-party firewall preventing Windows Update to communicate with "update.microsoft.com.
2. check if Windows Firewall is blocking the update of Windows.
Please see the following article for connection errors:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/836941
836941. you may encounter temporary connection errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates
After following the steps of troubleshooting in the article, if you still get an error message, thanks for posting again so that we can help you.

Delete "Check for Updates" Microsoft Office 2010 - GPO
I'm working on the packaging of various components of Microsoft Office 2010, such as the shared components, the Office Software Protection Platform Service, Visio (all flavors) and project (Standard and Pro). I wanted to delete "Check for Updates" in the Help menu. I installed the Office administrative templates on my machine to capture, added models to gpedit.msc and open administration-> Microsoft Office 2010 templates-> disable UI elements-> "disable the commands on the file tab | Help» I ran a prescan, then I activated the strategy, checked the box to remove the "Check for Updates" and click OK.
I open Visio and checked that the 'Check for Updates' button is greyed out. I closed my Visio and performed a scan of post and saved the project. I looked in all the files in the registry text. I pulled the text below in the file HKEY_CURRENT_USER.txt, added to the lower part of the same file in my project of exisitng Visio, run build.bat, cleared out the old sandbox, launched Visio, and the button is grayed.
My question: this application will encounter problems with Group Policy objects, or the complete isolation on these entries mode settings will be sufficient to keep the setting?
Here is the text of registry I captured and added (also included in the attached text file):

I have a laptop that I use mainly for cloud computing and travel. I have much stored on the hard drive itself and I spent hours trying to solve the problem regarding
Windows can't check for updates, error code 800FFFF.I tried some of the recommendations varied on this site, but so far without success.
If I just wipe my computer, and then start reinstalling everything from below upwards, will that solve the problem? I know it sounds drastic, but I'm willing to do, and hopefully learn something in the process.
I'm not computer specific read and write... so it would take me hours, wading through all the different corrections before as I find one that works. That's why I'm considering a reformat.
I checked for malware and repeatedly tried to system update readiness tool.
Any thoughts?

1B. make disappear/close the pop-up window "automated troubleshooting! -then...
c. 1, without taking into account any warnings similar, or '' not recommended '' run difficulty he 50202 in DEFAULT mode (if on a race later you still have the same failure, then repeat the above & select aggressive mode).2. closing of the session and restart the cool system & then run manually check the updates in Windows Update, etc, etc...
When you get to Windows Update, a custom scan updates. Take (accept) those marked critical or Important.
If it has updates Silverlight or Net Framework, select not them and leave it for one pass later.
Those that are marked as "optional" decline.
Have infinite patience so that it scans and it's work.
When you are prompted to restart Windows, please do. Allow it to restart. If you still have a failure and you just did a Fix - IT in the default mode, date back to 1 a/1 c and now this time make the default mode AND aggressive mode (both) and retry Windows Update again
Note: Running aggressive mode difficulty he 50202 will result in a loss of the history of the update but will not affect the actual installed updates.
