"Windows anytime upgrade wasn't sucsessful.

Hello

I try to use windows anytime upgrade to update my Windows Home Premium 64-bit for Windows 7 Professional operating system. Everything works fine. The initial upgrade key valid without any problem, and a window pops up after about 30-40 seconds to say;

WINDOWS UPGRADE, "launch the upgrade"...

The upgrade may take as little as 10 minutes on... Your computer restarts automatically.

After about 10 minutes a message ""Windows anytime upgrade was not sucsessful"- the upgrade wasn't sucssesful, please try the upgrade again."

I tried this 6 times now with the same result every time. I can't find anywhere on the MS site where I can get help for this. I paid UK£ 120.00 for this windows any time upgrade key, and it seems that the only way I can send an e-mail to aid must pay UK£ 46.00 email support which is crazy for a new product.

Someone kindly help me.

Thank you

Rob

I think that you bought the right product. Updates at any time are for the upgrade edition of Windows 7 to a more expensive edition. This isn't what you need to upgrade a Vista system to Windows 7. While Vista upgrades are no longer available from the Microsoft Store.

I suggest that you return to the Microsoft Store site and use the contact methods to discuss your problem with an agent.

  • Windows Anytime Upgrade is no longer available for online purchase in my country

    Separated from this thread.

I live in the United States and I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and I went to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with Windows Anytime Upgrade only to find out that it is no longer available for online purchase in my country or region.

Windows Anytime Upgrade is no longer available, ended around October 2013. If you need to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional, you will need to purchase a retail upgrade or version license full, then use the product key with the Express Upgrade Assistant.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/26/Windows-7-anytime-upgrade-%E2%80%93-unlocking-more-benefits/

Because retail licenses are rare and difficult to obtain, your only option may be Windows 7 Professional OEM licenses, which cannot perform one installs clean.

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

  • How can I remove Windows anytime upgrade from Win 7

My windows 7 Home premium on my laptop has windows anytime upgrade and I want to get off the computer completely. I don't want to simply disable it or hide it, I want it on the hard drive. I found instructions online for windows vista, but I don't think it will work on windows 7, or will it? I have a HP laptop.

This is the link I foumd to remove a vista on a Lenovo system:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=SF07-d0

On the opening menu I click with the right button on the shortcut and open the location of the file and found 3 files with updated at any time under the name and tried to remove them manually, but got an error message that I don't have the rights to do so. The solution was to try again or cancel and try again once does not work. Yet, I'm not sure that just delete these 3 files might get rid of him anyway.

Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you

Please understand that shortcut link Windows Anytime Upgrade using all of the system resources. Its simply a mechanism of the operating system used to unlock the features of a higher edition. Its as you say windows to grow hair, it grows as long as provide you the key, is not as the "grown up" hair was there all along to take disk space or use of resources.

If you look at an installation of Windows 7 Home Premium, its usually about 6 GBs, when you use the upgrade to upgrade to a higher edition like ultimate, Express size increases to 10 GB, which means basically, he never used any extra space at the beginning.
