Windows applications do not connect to the internet

Whenever I try to use windows applications I get the message that I am not connected to the internet. Yet I know that I am because I can connect via the internet explore. How can I fix it?

Hi Dennis,

1 are you referring to the splash screen apps or other office programs when you say "Windows apps?

2. are you aware of any changes made on the PC before this problem?

3. What is the full error message that you receive?

You might face this problem if the proxy settings are enabled.

Follow these steps:

Method 1:
Disable the proxy server in Internet Explorer.
a. press the button of the logo Windows + R, type inetcpl.cpl and press OK.
b. click on the connections tab, click the LAN settings button.
d. Uncheck use a proxy server for your LAN under proxy server.
d. click OK to apply the changes.
Now, check the question.

Method 2:
If the problem persists, we will temporarily disable the antivirus and check the issue.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Let us know if it helps. If the problem persists, we will be happy to help you.

As stated above, I can't use the internet with windows applications, but desktop applications, including browsers, connect to internet, very well.

I have had this problem since I bought the laptop in 2012. I just did an update of the system because of other problems, and later, it seemed that the apps were able to access the internet for a short period because current reports have been added to the live feed in the start menu.

A lot of people online had this problem as a result of something to do with windows update, and it would be logical to me since the update of windows startup download new software immediately after the update. However, I am not sure that this is the cause.

This will also prevent me to upgrade to windows 8.1, which is really a pain

Hey, I just downloaded McAfee software removal tool to completely remove their program (which comes with windows) after you have uninstalled it.

    He made the apps work!

  • Windows 7 - could not connect to the internet

Our Dell laptop has Windows 7 and since last night I am no longer able to connect to the internet.  I see that my router works (excellent strength) but I can't online.  When I called FIOS they said it was a problem with the Windows 7 update.  I was waiting with Microsoft for more than an hour last night and am listening to hold music again tonight.  Any help is appreciated!

You have McAfee? It was last updated at about the same time and it seems to be the cause of this problem.

See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary.

I got McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee you don't follow their procedure of fix would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated and, as other listings of McAfee said since then, the application did not refer to his database of threats correctly. Actually, I removed and then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].

I had to run the McAfee Development removal a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

If you do not have McAfee then Windows update that kb2705219 can also be a cause like uninstall that seemed to solve the problem for some users. • None of my apps on windows 8 are not connected to the internet

I first noticed this with my messaging app on my home screen. a message appeared in the upper right of my say screen "(my email) is unavailable". I've been studying then more far by checking the other apps as well. I went to the app store market. Once more, I can't connect to the internet as the app says that I am not connected to the internet. Other applications ask the same thing as well. When I go to my office version, however, he said that the internet works perfectly well. I am able to access internet explorer in the desktop. I tried to restart my computer and turn on my Wi - Fi on and off but nothing works. Help, please. I just want to be able to access my e-mail.

I had the same problem of internet access with Windows 8.1. For me, it was a problem with my antivirus (Norton) program. I opened the antivirus and after checking all selections under Firewall I finished by clicking on help. He began to process automatically. I thought he was doing that I can get support. He finished by saying 1 problem has been fixed. I went to the opening of the store Windows and "Walla". I've been in.

  • Homer in Windows Server does not connect to the internet.

I installed Windows Home Server on a self-built media server. Everything on the hardware is working properly. The server software is installed. The ethernet line is connected to my Linksys router. The power light is on decision-making on the case ethernet connection. The power led is on the router where the ethernet is connected. So, in my view, that the issue is not material.
    Problems:
    1. the server does not connect to the internet.
    2. my computer does not recognize the server when I install the Windows Home Server Connector software.
    3. the wizard of Linksys on my computer does not recognize the server as a "new device".

I feel like I'm missing a driver, maybe a driver of ethernet controller, but do not know how to diagnose the problem.  I downloaded the Windows tool that identified the problems I listed, but solutions are not feasible.

  • My windows xp does not connect to the internet using the host card

I recently reinstalled windows xp, the windows disk. When I plugged my homeplug (Edimax HP-2003AV), that it does not record that I have nothing plugged, it is an old computer, but still works very well, please help with this!

    Hi AaronEastman,

    ·         You get the error message?

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not still in safe mode, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

Method 2: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3: Follow the steps in the article.

    7. Under the general tab, next to Startup Type select disabled in the menu dropdown.
    8. Now to test and see if you still have connectivity problems.

  • My laptop with Windows Xp does not connect to the internet, please help me!

Then my laptop, as indicates it works on Windows Xp, but even if I'm supposed to be connected to my home network, when I run Internet Explorer, it can not connect to internet. Any help and insight will help. Please help me!

I'm sorry that had to retype all of this, but in essence, that everything indicates that things work correctly with your Internet connection.

To translate, the first bit tells us that your router assigned your computer 192.168.0.12 IP address.  The own IP address of the router is 192.168.0.1

The result of ping 127.0.0.1 indicates that your computer can communicate with itself (the adapter is OK)

The 192.168.0.12 ping result indicates that your computer can communicate with your router (that we already knew because otherwise your computer don't would not have been assigned an IP address).  It also means that you are connected to your local network.

The result of the ping 192.168.0.1 is similar to the 127.0.0.1 test.

And finally, the ping Google result shows that you are able to access the Internet.

Knowing all this, you probably need to reset TCP/IP or Winsock, or both.

    Manually:

Open a command prompt window and type

    netsh winsock reset {enter}
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

  • Windows Vista does not connect to the internet.

Vista all tried to sign on the internet, but not

It's SP2.  I found another virus scanner and removed.  I loaded the good Explorer and copied in the folder and the Vista Service Pack II and it will still not on the internet.  Open the windows, and then closes (45 seconds).  I checked the ethernet driver (have high speed 10/100 NIC) he said it was very good.  I took it and when I started (after that I replaced the files in Explorer) I thought that it can load and discover the right path (both).  It loaded and loaded the ethernet, it says its ok ok but the icon on the destop says not found network connection.  Therefore, the Explorer and the link between the Explorer and the card ethernet, I guess.  Have been on the internet on the D drive on the same computer and it market.  It seems that he is a total windows problem.  I need the auditor system files, it's an activated installation of Vista SP2, so I should be able to do.  Could someone send it to me.  I think I did everything everyone tried to suggest to it solve this problem.  Oh, I forgot to mention I made a backup copy of a couple of years and it was made with the copy of Windows utility, then we might be able to use it to restore it.  It worth the try if you know how to load it.  guitarone

If you purchased your computer with Windows 7 preinstalled, the computer or the manufacturer of the laptop computer uses drivers for it.

If you have installed Windows 7, you can always go and find Windows 7 drivers:

Access the site on your computer or equipment manufacturing > Driver and Software Support Section > search your computer or hardware model number > then your operating system > locate the correct drivers > download and install.

    Examples.

I just installed Windows 8 pro and after installing, everything worked well. However, now all applications say that they are not connected to the internet.

Shop Windows says "you're PC is not connected to the internet," However, when I go to the Office the internet works fine.
    How can I fix?
I tried to make a new account and check my internet options, but nothing seems to work.

After much more research online, I was able to find the problem for my computer. Before moving to windows 8, I had AVG internet security on windows 7, and apparently that's what was blocking the applications to connect to the internet.

So if you have some type of antivirus or internet security installed, try to remove them to see if that makes a difference.
