Windows becomes white after the start

I have windows vista. When comp. after windows startup, it takes about 2 min. then scren goes white with arrow always on the screen. If I pull up the Task Manager, it rises and I can do a few things, but not much. System Restore does not and if I try safe mode it just stops about 1 min after the start.

  • Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start.

Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start. When I start the Task Manager to end the process, it sometimes freezes and the only way to solve the problem is to disconnect which forces the profile to close. Assuming a corrupted profile, I followed the instructions of Windows support to fix a corrupted profile and copied all the files except ntuser.*. When I try to paste them into the new user profile (all profiles are admins), I get the error message asking if I want to leave to proceed. When I click on continue, all THE files in the profile block "corrupt" to the new one, including ntuser.*, that I was not choosing. Why? If the files are rewritten empty? Tried 3 times, same result. Please notify.

I think I found it! I went in the Windows Live Forum and found a thread that looked like my problem. He suggested going to msconfig and take off Live Mail list start. I couldn't find it on the list, but the top element was "" default EXE"something of an unknown manufacturer. I took it out of the startup list, and Live Mail works again! Thanks for your help!

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities. From your problem description, I understand that you are facing problems on Startup icons. Please correct me if I misunderstood.

I understand how it could be frustrating when things do not work as expected. Please, I beg you, don't worry I'll try my best to resolve the issue.

    1. have there been recent changes to the computer before the show?

I suggest to try the given steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try to run fix it from the link below:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/system_maintenance_for_windows/en-us

Method 2: If the problem persists, then try to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 3 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 3:

Also scan your computer from the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Please follow these recommended steps and post if you still experience the problem.

  • Key 3 C often does not work for several minutes after the start, the other keys work fine.

I got am HP Pavilion 17-e049wm Notebook PC product #E0J75UAR for about 4 weeks now.  I bought it refurbished.  A week ago I started having this problem.  3, e, d and c keys do not work when I first start the computer all of the other keys work.  Nothing happens when they are pressed.   Sometimes I will restart the computer and they work again, other times they won't, but often will start working if I left the computer set for about five minutes after the start.

The computer is spotlessly clean.  I've only used a dozen times or more.  Nothing has been spilled on the keyboard.

Sounds like software for me, but what?

I am running Windows 8.1 and no programs are running at startup, with the exception of a program start button, but the problem began weeks after installing that.

    Any ideas?

  • Why lsass.exe consumes resources after the start?

Lsass.exe turns 15-20% cpu level for 10-15 minutes after the start.  I have a fast, dual-core machine and the latest XP.

    Hello

"lsass.exe" is the local security authentication server. It checks the validity of the user on your PC or Server logons. Lsass generates the process responsible for authenticating users for the Winlogon service. This is done by using packages of authentication such as the default, Msgina.dll. If authentication successful, Lsass generates the user access token, which is used to launch the initial shell. Other processes that the user initiates then inherit this token. More information

Note: The lsass.exe file is located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. In other cases, lsass.exe is a virus, spyware, Trojan or worm!

If you suspect a viral activity, and then run Microsoft Security Scanner and check.

See if this helps you improve performance.

Search for malicious software with the FREE version of this program.

This is the right link to download included.

And does not accept the option "Pay for the version" trial installation

Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

You can clean your hard drive using these two methods.

    "Delete files using Disk Cleanup"

It would be a good idea also run the System File Checker tool to check that everything is correct in the system files.

"How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.
