Windows boot problem

Hi all

Several times I fail for start up of my computer laptop satellite m30x, but after he made material check that happens in the loco. The screen went black without and treatment for windows startup. I release the battery backup and the cord, I do new switch on.

It goes as usual. So, what's the problem?

Hi Wade,.

If you get just a black screen after the initial post and the BIOS loaded, it is possible that the hard disk you may have a problem and the unit cannot read the MBR to start the operating system.

I suggest that you back up your data and then run CHKDSK on your disc ard to check it for errors.

Kind regards

  • Windows boot problem - when turned on, Windows proceeds immediately to "turn off".

When running, Windows will immediately ' off '.  Have tried holding F8, which causes a sound alarm for a few seconds, then goes to "turn off".  Laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1520, is 2.5 years.

You have a hardware problem-maybe the power adapter or battery, any number of other things.  You have to take the laptop to a repair shop of computer with a good reputation for service (or send it to Dell for service according to costs, guarantees, delays and other factors - it's your decision to make - unless it is still under warranty then definitely contact Dell).

First of all, you have to work to Win 7. My problem was on a desktop, not a laptop. I also assume that you do not have many HD with dual-boot OS partitions. Just reconfigure your hardware & BIOS to the same thing when you installed Win 7 work. If it works, then perform the utility thing.

I use VistaBootPro to the BCD but try checking on Easy BCD (its free). Start loading changed with Vista. I think that his startup loading posing problem. For a disk bootable for the restoration of files, I use Paragon Hd Mgr, but you can find some freebees with searches on the web.

  • 650 HP laptop Windows 7 64-bit boot problem after installation of the graphics driver

I bought the HP 650 laptop which came with Suse Linux.

I installed 64-bit Windows and tried to install the corresponding graphics driver:

High definition (HD) of Intel Graphics Driver

as indicated in the list of drivers for Windows 64-bit here:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5225013&...

After installing the driver asked me to restart the computer and after the reboot, boot, Windows boot after displaying the Windows logo on black background the computer restarts again before you boot into Windows.

After this crash to start a startup repair is suggested and I can complete the restore of the system that allows me to connect to Windows but I have not installed display drivers and things like Aero do not work.

I tried several times and re - install drivers and had the same problem after each attempt.

    Help, please.

It's quite a few updates failed.  This can be linked to the issue, but we don't know really until the update problem is resolved.

Read this document to Microsoft as it addresses this particular error.  It also has various tools to try in case the first option does not correct the problem.

You can also try the Windows Update troubleshooting utility included in Windows 7.

Go to start > Control Panel > find and solve the problems under system and security > fixed problems with Windows Update under system and security.

    Let me know what happens.

When I turn on the device, Windows crashes immediately on a blue screen saying: "your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart...» PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR ". I tried all combinations of plug etc. aside first turned off, turned on mac.

If you have not some data on the best HARD drive for you is important to install the operating system using supplied recovery disk.
After doing this you should clean Vista pre-installed and all will be well.

  • Why the two attempts to start are necessary to start the 10 Windows Boot Camp?

The first attempt to start seems to stall after the first Windows will appear and the monitor did his normal black screen.   A manual power off is required.  The second attempt to start Windows 10 Home functions correctly.  This on a MacBook with OS X installed 10.7.5 late 2006.  This MacBook as the host has Oracle VM in VirtualBox for Mac installed with Windows 7 Home, Windows 7 Pro and Linux Mint installed 17.2 as guests.  All these operating systems work relatively well.  Only two boot problem with Boot Camp is unusual.

Your 2006 MB does not officially support W10. If you use the startup disk and select Bootcamp, it requires a second reboot? You are using any third party NTFS software.

Now my problem is that I can not change same anytthing for my computer to boot from CD - I do not have a windows disc but produced Toshiba recover disk but nothing works at all. Ive tried pressing F2, F8, F12, DEL... in fact almost all of the keys just in the hope that it will work.

Anyone got any ideas on what I can do. IM resigned pretty much on the fact that Im going to lose everything that I just need the computer to the top and running again as soon as I can.

    Thank you very much

Until one of the experts can give you advice on the repair of your Vista system, you might like to try to recover your files. I'm not very computer literate, but managed to achieve this when I "killed" my installation of Windows 2000. I ASSUME the same process should work with Vista. (Somewhat disturbing, Windows passwords do not seem to matter.)

Download a Linux live CD - Linux "Puppy", I found a small one - download good and easy to use. Burn the .iso file, resulting on a CD. Insert the CD into your CD/DVD drive and start the computer. Let it boot the Linux operating system. (You may need to experiment with the BIOS settings for the computer to boot from CD before its own hard drive).

You now have a linux regardless of your hard disk operating system. (If it is one of the major Linux programs, it will be slow when run from CD - is not a problem - just requires patience!)

With a little luck, the Linux system will see all disks connected to your computer, including your hard drive. (The same as your normal operating system sees a USB and can copy files, for example.) You might then be able to browse the files on your hard drive and copy them to a disk external drive or USB key.

I met a few issue permissions to write to the external drive - sorry, can't remember the flippant answer but it was very simple - and had only once. Again, it just Google the problem. There are many experts Linux display discussions out there!

This does not allow you to start your Vista system or something like that, but if you can get your files copied to a safe place, so you can just copy them back once you have reinstalled the offending Vista system.

I'll try to provide a link to an answer that I already proposed here - Sorry, it's a little tedious, but the link it can be useful, too.

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=44736&TSTART=30

One of those things that is easier to do than to describe, perhaps - lots on the internet about Linux rescue CD.

I found a lot of useful articles on this google link:

    http://www.Google.co.UK/search?hl=en&q=using+a+Linux+live+CD+to+rescue+Win dows + files & btnG = Google + Search & meta =

I've never been good by entering search terms. you will find many things better.

But the good news is that it would be possible to recover at least some of your data before reinstalling.

If you have not used Linux live CD before, first do some work at home. They are surprisingly easy, especially when you have overcome one or two of the usual initial traps for example try to burn the live CD as data rather than an iso CD then wonder why it won't start. Proabably more easy for you to do a little research on Google than for me to write pages here!

Another alternative, if you're better to dismantle the computers than me, would be to remove it from your hard drive and install it in a suitable external hard drive enclosure. This can then be connected to another computer via a USB port and you should be able to read your files as if a USB flash drive and copy them. I only tried this with the old readers of old desktop computers with nothing on them that counts too - but it seems easy enough. Once again, just a way to copy all your stuff before wiping the hard drive of your laptop and reinstall Vista.

Sorry if it was a little hike - hope that gives you some ideas.

Several times using a Windows 7 installation dvd solves these problems. Until a couple of months, you can download an ISO to make a Windows 7 disc and I often recommemded that as a solution. Unfortunately deleted Microsoft Access to those files unless you have a retail license key. I don't know of any other place to download an iso without danger, so the only solution is to buy Windows 7 If you do not have a friend with a disk to use for the installation which you would activate using license key OEM on the label attached to the bottom of your laptop.

  • Recovery of Windows Vista problem for my Satellite A200 - 10 X

My computer was working OK. To speed it up, I decided to reformat the hard disk using the recovery DVD provided by Toshiba. Recovery failed. I tried several ways but keep having the same problem, i.e. the process is going in a loop.

What happens can be summarized as follows: when I turn on the computer using the DVD in the drive for recovery disk, the computer by loading windows files and then formats the hard drive, but stop about 18 percent through the State. Every time that happens the problem starts (X:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe) at ImageX Tools for Windows; and mentions that Files\Toshiba\HD2Go\sea160s_HD.wmv c: Program... WimCopyF ileEx failed. Other errors are: error restore image. The drive is not ready; and ERROR: ImageX would not apply VISTA E:\05006XSP.swm 2 of ODD Index to C:\. ; Press a key... And the screen turns white. There is another window of the screen when i to this happens, who says the administrator: X:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe open in the BACK. After closing this window of the screen empties and the computer for everything in then opens in a Windows boot manager called window and said that windows could not start, winload could not be loaded because the application is missing or damaged.

If I try to boot from HARD drive recovery, there is no success. I tried turning on the computer while pressing C, or pressing 0 (zero) or F8, but without success. I can't go to the page where I can repair the HARD drive as described in the user manual.

I even tried to load an older version of XP, which has loaded but would not recognize the USBs, or sounds or a DVD player, etc.

    Help, please.

    Hello

Very strange! Are you using the Toshiba Recovery DVD for the first time now?

I guess my question is what I have to do a restore of the system under windows 7, before I can upgrade to windows 10? Or y at - it another way?

    Hello glockrow ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.

I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing.

So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.

HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers.  Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems.  The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.

It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!

You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

    Hi guys

So I tried to do a factory reset on my Dv6, I had replaced the screen (worked) and I wanted to clean during the use of the work.

I rebooted and pressed F several times then chose a factory reset (Option 3)

Now, I get to the windows boot manager give me the 3 standard options and file: \Boot\BCD status:------0xc000000f

I don't have a recovery CD (I thought it would be re - install my original OS)

I have a flash drive to use, but for some reason any the windows download page does not recognize my CD from the bottom of the laptop key.

It is faded, but I am sure that it's okay to 99%.

Any ideas how to solve this problem or is it a bin job?

Yes it will automatically authenticate Windows 10 machines Windows 8 and there is a manual of key Code for the new version RTM 10240 there for 8 machines Pre-windows.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3dfda8/build_10240_did_you_get_assigned_a_licenseproduct/

The key shown in the link below is supposed to work with Windows 10 10240, released yesterday and has worked for me with latest Windows 10 Pro Insider with own couple extracts installs. I just downloaded the file .iso 10240 image, he engraved on a DVD and I'm going to install it on my rig here in just a bit. I will present my experience. My apron is a 8 prior to Windows machine. Here is a link to the .iso image file:

    http://Microsoft-news.com/download-Windows-10-RTM-build-10240-ISO/

You can sign up for the Insider program (instructions on the link above) just to keep all hide them before general release to the public, but MS advice support are all saying this .iso will make a clean installation using this key Code.
