  It is not easy to say what the problem is here. If the recovery image and HARD drive are OK, you should be able to install recovery image and use your neetbook with the factory settings.
  When you've got this netbook as a new machine, I assume you didn't create recovery USB support. Can you confirm this?

  I can't say with certainty what the problem, but now you should test original recovery image installation and see what happens. In case the same thing happen over and over again, the problem may be related to the HARD drive.

  I just realized that you cannot start to access msconfig... I'm sorry.

  If you have a Setup disk, repair disk or USB flash, you may be able to access the command prompt and enter a command to disable Secure Mode...

  You have a possibility to do a repair on the POST screen before Windows tries to start...

  You may be able to quickly hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete at the end of the POST right to start an auto repair.

  It might take three tests...

  You must get to the command prompt (.cmd)

  (1) start from the Windows 8 DVD or any other method available...

  Steps 2, 3 and 4 may not be in order, depending on how you start...
  2) click Next
  (3) select repair your computer

  (4) select troubleshooting
  (5) select Advanced Options
  (6) select command prompt

  We would like to get some more information from you to help solve your problem. You better, please answer the following questions.

  ·         What is the disk you use to reinstall?

  ·         Is this a recovery or reinstalling the disc you are using?

  ·         When exactly do you get this error message?

  ·         What is the edition of Windows Vista, you try to install?

  ·         How old is the drive that you are using?

  ·         How are you starting the installation process?

  After researching the error 0x8007000D code is essentially due to file corruption and a problem with the drive itself.

  First check if you have scratches or dust on the disc and clean the surface and try again.

  To check if the disk is wrong, you will need to copy the contents of the DVD to the hard drive and try to install using that.

  To perform a flat installation of Windows Vista, follow these steps.

  Note The hard disk must have at least 3 GB of free space on the disk for the Windows Vista installation files. The hard disk must have at least 15 GB of additional disk space to install Windows Vista.   I created an answer file with the Configuration of Image Editor and I created an Image of the IBW of my answer file. All the files and the Image of the IBW (738 MB) files are copied to a USB bootable 4 GB. I inserted the Flash DRIVE to a computer with a Compact Flash 4 GB (which contains only a primary NTFS partition set as Active) and it starts on a USB key. IBW Wizard starts and I followed the instructions until the disk selection step. I chose the disk and partition of Compact Flash and I press the next button. First 2 installation steps manage (copy of Windows files and extend Windows files) but 3rd step (installing features and updates) failed with the error message "Windows cannot access the installation sources. Check that the installation sources are accessible, and run the Setup again.'.»

  I tried to do the same thing with a Compact Flash 4 GB, which contains 2 partitions: a primary NTFS defined as active and a system partition, but I got the same result. Then I tried to install it on a Compact Flash 8 GB which contains 1 single defined primary partition as active and I managed.

  Problem is that I must install on a Compact Flash 4 GB.

  Can someone help me please?

  Reference Dell 3000 win xp family, sp 2 card its replacement will not install right.

  I just reinstalled windows on my Dell computer and have struggled to reinstall the different divers, applications and programs that I used to have.  The long, everything went well, except for the audio part.

  Windows Device Manager shows the icon replacement C-media with a yellow top warning label. Under "Properties", it shows this message: Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)  Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

  I uninstalled and completely removed all traces of the drivers C-media, etc. of my computer, rebooted, reinstalled the driver C-media since the original CD (several times!), but the yellow warning label is always there!   When I ask to reinstall drivers C-media a notice tells me I have the best drivers now.

  BTW, the audio worked perfectly in this machine until the windows reinstall so I am sure that the problem is not with the sound card, drivers or the installation CD.  Thanks for any help on this, jim

  Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
  Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
