  • Windows cannot enable after several hardware failures

A clean reinstall of Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) on a DVD, we had from 2010 can not (re) activate. Several consecutive failures material, suspected as being due to overheating (motherboard, processor and fans) in the last month, has left us with a system that was new from zero (case) but for the powersource, the graphics card and the hard disk, in which case the supplier of our new recommended parts clean reinstall in order to recognise the new hardware.

In the middle of my attempt to reinstall, the computer crashed, and the new motherboard, surprisingly talky reported that he himself had protected comes from an influx in our unstable powersource (no wonder so many components grilled). So back to the repair shop we went. Once the store installed the new powersource, I booted up and a saw that the old facility was always present, with dialogue balloon to complain that he had to be activated because it recognizes new hardware. I ignored it and got down to the business of resettlement. Then I noticed a new problem... you guessed it... boom went to the graphics card.

Finally, after the store installed a new graphics card, and we brought a new machine with an old hard drive, I downloaded a ton of updates, but has recently begun to see dialogue balloons that windows could not activate, despite the fact that I used successfully the code on the back of the case of the installation of the DVD before that. Try to activate from paragraph returns panel system "type a different product for activation key. The product key you entered cannot be used to activate Windows on this computer"Retyping does not help. Clicking "Buy a new product key online" brings me to this url: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/validationresult.aspx?displaylang=en&referrer=50888&p=&lcid=1033&req=00359-OEM-8703352-35871&OSV=6.1.7600.2.00010300.0.0.003.09.1033&LS=1&LegitCheckError=00000052&GenuineInfo=C004C008&Channel=16&ErrCode=4004F00C which downloaded a little script or somesuch that tells me "Windows validation in process This may take a few minutes, do not navigate away from this page." then when that's done , page happily informs me "Welcome to Windows! Because it is installed on your Windows PC is genuine, enjoy the security, the reliability and the protection it offers. "and the publication of Microsoft Security Essentials. While I am aware that it is authentic, it does not help me activate Windows or buy a new product key.

I'll rather try you people first before attempting the option "automated phone system", because, obviously, automation has not helped me to this day, and I'd rather not spend time in the limbo of robot. Check the properties of the computer reveals a product which is quadripartite and digital ID, with the exception of the letters OEM in the second character, rather than the combination of letter-number 5 parts on my certificate of Authenticity sticker I have been stubbornly typing in the authentication area when prompted. It occurs to me that my attempts to install on a machine which has become essentially new piecemeal (with a power surge the Mid-install crash-induced) can read somehow as if this copy of windows has been installed on several different machines. Could be the problem? I have 26 days to go on my meter activation.

You will need to activate by phone and talk to a real person:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    5) stay on the phone (do not meet all the automatic guests) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your question clearly to the support person.

Note: an OEM license may not transferred to another motherborad with few exceptions. If all goes well a representative of activation it will activate for you

  • Receive error message: ": windows cannot configure this wireless connection if you have enabled another program to configure this wireless connection, use that software."

    Internet connection xp

I am running windows xp sp3 on my laptop. After a restart of the internet connection (wireless failed). try to connect to the wireless network has this error
": windows cannot configure this wireless connection if you have enabled another program to configure this wireless connection, use that software."
It's a toshiba n205.  When I right click on the wireless network printer it says that it is the firewall disabled. so I'm going to allow it and it still does not work. I don't understand because it seems that the firewall was working aok before restarting. I change all of the settings.

I solved this problem by changing the setting to allow windows to establish the network connection, I guess it is made by toshiba software. If anyone knows WHY this would be the case, why all of a sudden we would lose the connection, would be useful.

    Hello world

I know, there are several other threads on this topic, but I couldn't find a working solution. I currently have no OS on my DELL XPS 17 L702X. When I try to install from a USB stick bootable Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 I get this error message: windows cannot be installed on this physical drive of this computer may not support the start-up this drive make sure that the drive controller is enabled in the computer's bios menu.

    Hello

I suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the computer to change the BIOS settings and check if it is has updated the BIOS.

Important: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Let us know the results. We will be happy to help you further.

  • Boot Camp Windows Installation 10 - "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. It's the GPT partition style.

    Hello

I tried to dual boot Windows 10 alongside OS X El Capitan on my iMac 21.5 inch i5 end 2013. I have followed all the instructions in the Boot Camp assistant, restart, choose the yellow 'Windows' drive to boot from, but when I get to the Windows installation, enter the product key and language, and then select the partition (0-4, the partition Disk Partition) it tells me that "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is the GPT partition style. »

So I found this answer: How do I install Windows 8.1 on Haswell MBP

But then I received the same error.

    Tried this: http://macriot.com/mcrt/?p=2362

But fdisk TPG allow me to change anything, as the SIP is enabled.

Tried to disable SIP via a command line in a terminal in recovery mode, but got an error-bash: command not found csrutil.

So now I'm stuck on all fronts. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    1. your iMac end 2013 supports the facilities of BIOS/MBR and GPT/EFI.

    2. the legacy BIOS/MBR method requires a hybrid MBR.

3 EFI/GPT is recommended for your specific model.

    4. you can use the GPT Fdisk steps in your link to make your drive a GPT disk only. It is not enough.

    5. you will need to convert the FAT32 partition space using the following OS X Terminal

    diskutil eraseVolume free disk0s4 FREE

This will return an error, because free space is not associated with disk slices.

    6. at this point, use the USB installer created by the wizard of BC, boot from it and hold down the Alt/Option key and select Boot EFI (not Windows). Point to the portion of the free space that you see after the + 620 MB Recovery HD. It will separate into a small (128 MB) MSR and the rest as MSD (NTFS).

    7. do not install W7 in Boot EFI, because it has some difficulties.

    8. when Windows is installed, and BC drivers are not installed, run setup.exe from the Bootcamp folder.

    9. If csrutil is not found, you are in the recovery of the Internet, because your local Recovery HD is corrupted. The rescue of the failure of the local recovery is restoration of Internet. Your must be on El Capitan. There is no csrutil (or SIP) before El Capitan.

  • Satellite S50D - A - 10 G - Windows cannot activate now

    Good afternoon one & all

Can someone help or advise me please on a few issues that I have.

I have a Toshiba Satellite S50 - D, I bought laptop computer taken Ltd through Amazon in September 2014.
Was really happy with it until recently.

I activated Windows 8.1 when I first got it, but for some time I get messages saying that I need to activate Windows.

This I tried to do this several times & whenever I do the screen displays "Windows cannot start at this time please, try again later" I don't get an option from phone to phone and I am so confused as to why I wonder to reactivate.

I tried to contact the seller who told me to contact Microsoft, this I did & told me that the product key that came with my laptop is for Windows7 or Windows 8 not 8.1, it told me to contact Toshiba for a new product code, this I have done & at the end of an hour on the phone where the Toshiba engineer went through my laptop remotely informed me that I have a Trojan horse (which has discovered Norton or Eset Nod 32 BTW) & he could sell me an AV software for £99, at no time does he tried to give me a counsellor about why the ID of the product wouldn't work, neither does he tried to give me another code to try.

Did anyone else out there here conclusion they are being asked to reactivate Windows 8.1 which comes pre-installed on their laptops or anyone who knows how to solve this problem?

Sorry for the lengthy post, but necessary to ventilate as pretty frustrated & don't really want to take the laptop back to factory settings & lose all my stuff.

    Stephen

When you get the new machine you will get it with preinstalled recovery image. Recovery image is software which includes the Windows operating system, all the drivers necessary, Toshiba specific tools and utilities, and some additional software.

This recovery image doesn't have to be enabled manually. All you need to do is connect it to the internet, and it must be enabled automatically. You can create bootable recovery media and use it for recovery image installation, if necessary.

You can install it hundred times and each time OS will be activated automatically.
Unfortunately I can't explain what is the problem, but if you got your machine with preinstalled operating system to connect to the internet and activation must be successful.

By the way: can you please send full laptop model number?

    • Why do you want to run secpol.msc?
    • What you try to do it on your computer?
I want to tell you that the local security policy is not available on starter Home premium sound available only in Ultimate, professional company.

You can use following methods that can help you solve your problem, if you are using full, Enterprise, professional edition:

After Windows Vista starts, you can run programs blocked or blocked services by following these steps:

    1. click on the blocked startup programs in the notification area icon.

    2. tap on the blocked programand then click the program or service in the list that you want to start. Collapse this includes this image if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or click continue.

Method 2: Disable the blocked program or the blocked service

To disable a program or a service during the Windows Vista startup process, follow these steps:

    1. click on the blocked startup programs in the notification area icon.

    2. click on show or remove blocked startup programs. This starts Software Explorer in Windows Defender.

    3. Locate and then click to select the startup program or the boot service that is in Software Explorer.

    4. click on disable, and then click Yes in the confirmation dialog box.

  • HP ENVY 700-059c: 10 Windows cannot set up a homegroup on this computer

The message I get when I try to put in place a homegroup on this computer is "Windows cannot configure a homegroup on this computer". I tried everything that was suggested on troubleshooting of the forums that I searched the web on this problem but without success. I am trying to create a network with your computer and a Dell 64 bit of Windws 10 laptop.
Two computers on the same workgroup and I can set up a homegroup on the Dell, but when I try to join the homegroup on the HP I get the same error message. It has been suggested that I have delete the Group residential Dell and put in place a new homegroup on the HP, but HP won't let me set up a new group of residential. Where am I wrong?

As I said in my last post, I had no chance to get all of my network to the top, but after going through the fixes proposed by WAWood I realized that fixation on the establishment of a group residential wasn't getting me anywhere. I decided to search the web forums for a solution for the operation of "Peer Networking Grouping" of service, something I had not been able to do (strangely enough by clicking on the button 'Start' a billion times has absolutely nothing) since this mess began. Here are the procedures that seemed most likely to have success. First test was to change the registry using a suggestion of:

    http://www.tenforums.com/network-sharing/9691-computer-can-not-join-create-HomeGroup.html

Modify the key to register IPv6 to enable IPV6
    ==========================
    a. Click Start, type regedit in the search bar and then click regedit in the list programs.
Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
    b. look for, and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TCPIP6\Parameters
    c. check whether the "DisabledComponents" registry key exists. If so, move on the next steps.
    d. double-click "DisabledComponents" registry key and change the value to 0.
(If the key does not exist, please create the above key and assign a value of 0)
    e. exit the registry editor and then restart the computer.

So far no change. On the next dose of:

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/Win7/archive/2011/02/16/quot-peer-name-resolution-protocol-quot-service-could-not-be-started-and-HomeGroup-is-not-working.aspx

    1. from the high CMD prompt, type the following command:

    net stop p2pimsvc /y

    2 delete the following file:

    'C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking\idstore.sst '.

    3. restart the computer.

These two patches, apparently has not changed anything, but when I went back to Services and double clicked on grouping network of peers, and then clicked on the 'Connect' tab I found that the "Local System account" is selected and the box "Allow service to interact with desktop" was checked. Since I knew my many visits in this tab that it wasn't the way it was configured initially, I checked the properties of the service directly under it (Peer Networking Identity Manager) the tab 'Connect' showed that this account has been selected, and the term "Local Service" was in the right text box to the right of this account. In the two boxes just below this text box were two boxes labeled password and confirm password boxes contained 14 points. I decided it looked a lot like what I remember that the log on tab of the properties of "Peer Networking Grouping" dialog box has been initially configured. I returned to the journal of Peer Networking Grouping tab and made properties the following steps.

Chose "This account" and deselect "Local System account".

"Local Service" text typed into the text box next to "this account".

Delete all the points in the 'Password' and 'Confirm password' boxes

    Clicked on apply

Clicked on the tab general and click the button start (Yay he actually started)

    Restarted the computer

From there on, I was able to set up a homegroup, and then I was able to reach him this homegroup on my laptop connected wireless and viola, I have a network.

Thanks to WAWood for set me on the path to try to get the 'Peer Networking Grouping' service running as my ultimate goal.

  • "Receive error message" due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display WIndows firewall settings "when you turn the Windows Firewall

Original title: how to enable the Windows Firewall?

How can I activate the Windows Firewall?

When I click on it in the Control Panel, I get a message that says "Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display WIndows firewall settings".

    I use Microsoft Essentials antivirus.

    Hi Tom,

A firewall is software or hardware that checks information coming from the Internet or a network. The firewall blocks the information or allows information to pass to your computer. If the information is blocked or passed through depends on your firewall settings. A firewall can prevent malicious software (such as worms) to access your computer through a network or the Internet. A firewall can also help stop your computer from malware sent to other computers. Windows XP, Windows XP SP2 and Windows XP SP3 includes firewall software.

Perform the steps from the link below and see if it helps.

How can I turn on or turn off the firewall in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later versions?

    Hope this information helps.

  • "due to an unidentified problem, windows cannot display windows firewall settings" fixed but still can not visit some sites and the laptop now turns off the coast on me. What should I do?

I have an Apire one laptop with Windows xp service pace 3. I had to restore it to factory about 3 years ago. Some time after that the sound system began to slow and the Synaptics mouse stop working properly. I can move the pointer, but the left click does not work. It works in safe mode but not in normal windows. I used the Acer eRecovery for correct, but it did not work. I tried to download the driver for the mouse on the internet, but some how it could stop the download. I gave up at tring to fix. Some time in late March or early April, I couldn't access internet and after 22:30. I ran the diagnosis that is provided by internet explore and he said that the HTTP and HTTPS worked but the FTP did not work. AVG later told me my firewall is disabled and there was the possibility to reactivate it and I did. After internet explore stop allowing you to enter certain sites that I wanted to enter, I ran the Diagnostics again and he told me that a firewall client has been the cause of the problem. I tried to control my firewall setting, but had that "due to a problem not identified, windows cannot display the firewall settings". I thought AVG was the problem, so I have unintalled then he returned and attempted to access the firewall but got the same message. I typed in Google MySapce and found this site. I followed a few directions given to others in the thread started by joecarpenter33 and discovered that my firewall has been deleted and Base filtering engine has been deleted also. I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes ANti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition and tdsskiller. MBAM has found a Trojan. The results of the analysis is less to:

    Hello

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1.

Start the computer in safe mode with network and run a full scan of computer viruses.

To start the computer in safe mode: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

Run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    Method 2.

If the steps above do not help, then try to scan the computer using Windows defender in offline mode and check if that helps.

Search for spyware and other potentially unwanted software: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Scan-for-spyware-and-other-potentially-unwanted-software

What is Windows Defender Offline? : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    Method 3.

You can create a new user account and check. Once the new user account works fine, then copy the data from the old user account for the user account.

  • Windows cannot connect to the Internet using HTTP, HTTPS or FTP. This is probably caused by the settings of firewall on this computer.

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite M105-S3041 with Windows XP Home Edition.  I received the error message listed above indicating that Windows cannot connect Internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP.  When I open the wireless network connection status, I see packets sent and I also see that I get both packets.

The opening to the top of Internet Explorer, I received the error message listed above.  When I go to the properties of my wireless adapter and examine the properties of the TCP/IP parameters, I see that I have "obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" checked.  On the general tab of TCP/IP properties, I clicked on the tab advanced and click on the tab options to display the TCP/IP filtering settings and clicked the properties button.  Here, I see that the ports TCP, UDP and IP PROTOCOL.  I have a check the box 'enable TCP/IP filtering '.

Please help me because I am still unable to connect to the internet.

In general, you don't want to have a check in the box "enable TCP/IP filtering.  Try to uncheck this box and see if it helps.

If this does not help, two programs freeware difficulty sometimes of the problems of this kind...  Try to run LSPFix and/or WinSockXPFix.  Alternatively, you can try to reset your IP stack...

  • "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection".

I (birthday gift) a laptop Dell Inspiron 1011 with Windows XP Home Edition.  It has a "Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini Card".  It works wirelessly at home but when far and try using WiFi access points, if I am looking for available networks, it comes up with "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection".  (She also comes up with this message at home if I search for the network, but works OK on everything that I established House).  I searched online and found a "fix" of Microsoft, but when I tried to use a time warning that "this type of file can harm my computer" so I gave up.

Another area, I looked explained that the software other than Windows ensured control WiFi and it was not recommended to disable it.  (No doubt, it was the Dell software?)

I'm very PC not literate and would appreciate any help very simple!

    Hi sligo123

You can find this a bit confusing link.  I suggest that you enable the automatic configuration service (service Windows uses to control the wireless, rather than the Dell software).  Heres how:

    1. click on start, then run

    2. in the box, type C:/Windows\system32\services.msc/s

    3. click on OK

    4. in the window that appears, you should have a full range of services, scroll down until you find Windows Zero Configuration - double click on it

    5. in the box, make sure that the automatic option is selected in the drop-down list box.  Then click on the Start button.

Try and then try to connect to the wireless network (you may have to connect to your home network)

If this does not help, please post back here and we can try something else.

    Kind regards

    Daniel

    Hi TomFlow,

    1. which edition of Windows XP you are using?

2 did you a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

    Method 1:

You can try to start the Fixit from link and check if it helps:

Diagnose and automatically fix problems of Windows Firewall service

    Method 2:

We can refer to the article and try the steps.

You cannot start the Windows Firewall service in Windows XP SP2

Important: The above article tells you how to edit the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, follow the steps from the link below:

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows XP

    Method 3:

You can also try the steps in the following article:

You cannot enable or disable the Windows Firewall setting on a Windows XP Service Pack 2

  • "Due to a problem not identified, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings" when you try to change the Windows Firewall settings.

    Original title: WINDOWS firewall

I GET A MESSAGE WHEN I TRY TO CHANGE THE WINDOWS FIREWALL SETTINGS - "DUE TO A PROBLEM NOT IDENTIFIED, WINDOWS CANNOT DISPLAY WINDOWS FIREWALL SETTINGS. HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

IN ADDITION, I USE AVG INTERNET SECURITY 2013 AND THAT THE FIREWALL IS ENABLED AND I SEEM TO BE PROTECTED.

Documentation AVG Internet Security 2013 States:

    Recommendation:

Generally it is not recommended to use more than one firewall on a single computer. Computer security is not enhanced if you install several firewalls. It is more likely that some conflicts between these two applications will occur. Therefore, we recommend that you use only one firewall on your computer and disable all others, thus eliminating the risk of potential conflicts and problems related to this.

You can read the AVG documentation by clicking on this link, and see section 6.5:

    http://AA-download.Avg.com/filedir/doc/AVG_Internet_Security/avg_isc_uma_en_2013_06.PDF

So, if you are using AVG firewall, it's wise to just disable the XP firewall for more than a firewall running at the same time can lead to performance problems.  Choose one or the other, but not both.

I thought installing AVG would understand this by itself, and you know what to do (used to) but I do not want to install AVG to see.
