Windows cannot find c:\update.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again.
Two days ago at startup only, I started to get the error message "Windows cannot find .exe c:\update.". Everything seems to work ok and my antivirus is not a virus, its boring and I'd love to delete the message.

After that I turned on my computer, I get this error message... "Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (x 86) \Search Extensions\Client.exe make sure you typed the name correctly and try again."
It all started October 1, 2014, and I have no idea why.
I asked windows assistance online, and he said he had something to do with my registry.
But then there just stop communicating and did not tell me how to solve this problem.Y at - it a registry repair tool?
Also it does not affect my computer that I can tell.
But I have a problem in which windows cannot detect.
In the printers and devices window, the icon of my computer has a triangle with an exclamation mark inside error.
Maybe someone out there not and I'd appreciate any help.
Hey, mark
First have you properly uninstalled this program? He was executed at startup of Windows an incorrect uninstall may cause this error may still be registered in MSConfig to start automatically with the computer.
Did you go to the address specified in Program Files (86) \Search Extensions to see if the file is present or not?
With a mark of exclamtion in the middle of a yellow triangle indicates that drivers must be updated.
Right-click on the device with the triangle, select Properties, go to the Hardware tab, select the device with a triangle next to it, select Properties again and select Update driver.
This should solve the problem, if Windows Update can't find a driver for you, you can always go to the manufacturers website and download it there, however, if the Windows Update does not find it there ' has a chance to the manufacturers Web site may not it as well, in this case, you can open Device Manager right-click the missing material or using outdated drivers, select Properties, go to the Details tab and in the hardware id select menu drop-down property search with id, you receive information about the device and so download the drivers the most up-to-date and appropriate from other reliable sources.
Thank you

- Try to restore my computer.
And many other things. Please help me.I think is a virus and I have run my antivirus several times and he doesn't find anything. (avast)Hello
I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:
Method 1:
Try the running System File Checker and see if it helps:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833Method 2:
Try creating a new user account and check to see if the same problem happens:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-accountIf it works fine in the new user account, then it is possible that your user account is corrupted.
So, try following the steps in the link below and try to resolve the user account corrupted:http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile
Check if that helps.

I don't see any of my desktop shortcuts, nor can I open all the files. This message appears after a minute or so, when I click on the start menu and select my programs.
Can anyone tell what it is and how to fix it?
Well, what is... odd to say the least.
It seems that this error occurs in many circumstances, so could you tell if you have anything installed recently, as IE7.
It also seems that it could be the work of a virus, so I recommend you download free version at http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Malwarebytes and does not perform a scan.

Original title: ((Vista)) I can't install anything!
So, basically, I have a Windows Vista. I'm using Google Chrome, but that doesn't really count because I tried on all browsers. When I try to download something, it comes up with something like that... "Windows cannot find"C:\Users\User\Downloads\ ((name of the program here))". Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again. "This has nothing to do with a name of typing correctly. I'm downloading at the wrong place? If Yes, where can I download it?

There is a SPACE between 'exe' and ' / '. You didn't have that. That's why.
Please copy and paste it in the search box ot Run box... outlook.exe /resetnavpane

I have a Windows Vista laptop. I usually have no problem printing over the network to my University Library. Then I bought a new Kodak printer to my apartment which I also configured to print wireless. For about a day, I could print from these two networks, depends on the location. Now, I can't print at the library. I am able to see all printers but when I try to 'Connect', it says "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Make sure you typed the name correctly and that you are connected to the network. "Word, printers of the University Library no longer appear in the list you choose to print. What should I do?
Hello Lauren,
Please take a look at this Microsoft article on "networked printer troubleshooting:I suggest to disable all security software, including firewalls, you have probably enabled or installed and then try to print again to see if that makes a difference: -

This message appears on the desktop after windows starts upward
If you have correctly typed the name of this file, your computer has been infected. Either you have uninstalled the malware program or your antivirus/antispyware program did. In all cases, a reference has been left in the boot file. You can remove the reference by managing your startup.
Because you had a piece of malware, the chances are too high you had others. It would be a good idea to scan.
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_MalwareManage startup:
(for XP) Start > run > msconfig [Enter]
This will open the System Configuration utility. Look under the Startup tab and find the likely culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, apply and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but next time you do, you will get a dialog box saying that you have used the utility. Just check the box that says in effect, "don't mind to this subject again".
