Windows could not complete the installation - Message in Vista 32
Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, run the Setup again.
I get this message when I switch on my compaq CQ40 with Vista 32. From this screen, I can go into Manager tasks and go online, see the program files on the C: drive, change passwords, etc. Anything except support Vista. I just downloaded and installed SP2 via the Task Manager. Always stops after the Welcome screen. Another thing I never noticed before: during the boot and just after opening orb, the Welcome to Windows message lights up with the small circle of progress, then I hear a sound of gong just before startup fails. Curious. Any help out there?

Hello
I have WINDOWS VISTA and just tried to reinstall my laptop of restoration on a HARD disk partition.
The restore went through, but then I got the error: WINDOWS COULD NOT COMPLETE the INSTALLATION. TO INSTALL WINDOWS ON THIS COMPUTER, RESTART THE INSTALLATION
When I press 'OK' (which is the only option), it tries to start again, until I get the same error through the black screen.
How can I get out of this loop please?
Thank you.
Lucie
Hello
For any problem with the help of the recovery Partition that has been copied to the hard disk by the computer manufacturer, you must contact them.
This recovery process is the manufacturer, not Microsoft.
________________________________________________
You never told us why you wanted to do a restore. If you had serious errors and the recovery process does not work, you will have hardware problems. BUT we're only guessing at this stage due to lack of information to help you.
See you soon.

Is it possible to do a new sysprep without getting the OS to start?
Hello Simon,.
Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.
We need more information about the issue so that we can help you better.
Your computer is connected to a domain network?
Thank you for details on the issue.
Preparation system (Sysprep) tool prepares an installation of Windows for duplication, auditing, and customer delivery. Duplication, also called imaging, allows to capture a customized Windows image that you can reuse throughout the organization. Audit mode allows you to add additional device drivers or applications to a Windows installation. After you install additional drivers and applications, you can test the integrity of the Windows installation. Sysprep also allows to prepare an image to be delivered to a customer. When the customer boots Windows, Windows Welcome starts.

"Windows could not complete the installation", Y510P
Hello
Just got my new Y510P and realized it's impossible to start Windows.
Initially it displays error "Windows cannot parse or process Unattend...» [... \unattend.xml] [oobeSystem] pass... »
After reboot he start to display a different message - "Windows could not complete installation, restart the installation.
The operating system is Windows 8.1.
Looks like I'm not the only person having this problem. System recovery does not help, of course (as well as the graceful Lenovo tech support).
I think that the problem caused by the incorrect unattend.xml file that fails to install any software because of this error and unnesessary blocking Windows to complete the installation.
I see no other way rather than installing Windows from another source. I don't want to pay for another Windows license and instead return the Lenovo laptop, but perhaps there is another way?
Problem solved.
I contacted Lenovo support and they offered me to send recovery discs I received a few days later. I installed the cleaning system of records and have not experienced any problems since.
I'm still not fully satisfied because I cannot reset the laptop to the factory settings without these discs, but I think I can live with that.

A hard drive the HP dv2915nr laptop was dead. Installed a new hard drive and use the HP recovery CD. installs for 4 hours and then stops: Windows could not complete installation. Please re - install Windows again. Each facility is 4 hours. Because another install and it took 4 hours and then it restarts and stop at the same error. Now, I'm administrator (locked) - turn off when I pop in the recovery CD. Message: Your account has been disabled. Please, see your system administrator. I tried Safe Mode and loading Windows files stops at crcdisk.sys all the time and then restarts and displays: Windows could not complete installation. Please install again. Can't go in the office. Only restarts with these messages. Asked HP cat (3) Tech people and they do not have the answer. Said, could be a compatibility issue with the software. I ordered this CD of recovery on their part and he got yesterday. Now, they send in the laptop. So tried advice here. Please notify.
I found the answer. HP Tech Support Chat did not know the answer. When you run HP recovery CD, don't hit the restart WINDOWS button when it asks. The software will do it for you automatically. It will take a while (several hours 1-6 hours) to complete. You'll know it's done when WINDOWS ask you information of language, country and keyboard. In other words, don't touch anything once you start the restore CD program. Leave it alone and it will fix it for you. IGNORE the pop-up restart.
I can't believe HP has not even tell me that and 3 chat sessions with them was a waste of time. Last HP person ask me to send in the RECOVERY CD and the laptop.
No help from anyone on this issue. :(
BUT I thought about it. :)

Hello, here is the thing.
Reformatted a computer with recovery discs...
Office to the top and everything looked ok...
Windows Installer started and makes the computer reboot several times as usual.
BUT NOW I have a black screen with a window saying "Windows is unable to complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, run the Setup again. »
I opened the Task Manager and closed a 'runonce' process, which got the Explorer will... But shit message will not go away, if I close the computer restarts!
Why did I get this? How can I make them disappear? Windows has not installed correctly? Do I need to install any additional substance to compensate for this?
+ I just noticed there is no partition for recovery in my computer... you know? This thing of 2 GB next to Local disk c

Hey Abraham G
you use discs of recovery that are made for your brand and your computer model
and if you have problems using the manufacturer's recovery disks, you will need to communicate with them about
It's their recovery process not microsofts

I buy a new HP Pavilion DV6-7007TX. I don't want the pre loaded Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit that's why I decided to format it using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, but after reboot before the Installtion "filling" to finish an Error Message is displayed "windows cannot complete the installation. to install windows on installation, this restart of the computer", I rebooted several times but the same error pops up
Why not just do you do an Anytime Upgrade of Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate?
If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Ultimate edition at the request, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.

Red flyer 15.6 "15-f272wm: Windows could not complete the installation
I just got my new laptop and when I turned it on, a window appears and says that Windows is unable to complete the installation. Install windows on this computer, run the Setup again. I rebooted several times and it's all the same result. Nothing happened. Help, please!
Hello
If the laptop is unable to complete the initial installation, and as it's brand new, my best advice would be to go back to the retailer you bought it and get it replaced.

Satellite Pro L650: Windows could not complete the installation on the new HARD drive
At the present time, I have a 500 GB HARD drive installed. As soon as I got it, I did a recovery on 3 DVD media.
I just tried to replace the HARD drive with a 1 to one. All copied OK and after dvd 3 that I was told to release the dvd. I did this and the computer turns off. I turned it on and it started to (don't remember the exact words used) set the drivers.
However I have now received the message that "Windows cannot complete installation" and telling me to reinstall. I did it, but after the steps above have repeated the same message appears.
Pls help.
I don't see why my computer should be limited to a 500 GB HARD drive.
Thank you
Hello
The computer is NOT limited to 500 GB HARD drive
You can use more big 500 GB hard drives. You have confirmed that the laptop supports 1 TB HARD drive and the system recognizes the 1 TB HARD drive. The problem could be the use of the recovery diskette. Why?
Because the recovery disk creates the same partitions that were available on the 500 GB HARD drive. This could create problems of system due to the large size of HARD drive.Solutions?
Well, I think that you could install the system by using the clean installation of Microsoft Windows disk.
Missing other drivers or tools can be downloaded from Toshiba page. -

I order usually Newegg.com but you can probably find one at any Best Buy store, Staples, etc. Newegg usually has the best prices. You need a hard drive 2.5 "sata mobile. The old hdd will have also an adapter plastic through the pins that you need to remove and place on the pins of the new hard drive.

Windows (8) could not complete the installation.
I just bought a new HP2000 today. I get home and start of implementation. At the end of the process, when it * must * be showing me the office (or whatevert, they call the thing in W8), I get this error message. I click 'OK' and it reboots and starts the whole process. How "complete the installation?
I'm about to take over and get a gateway or a Toshiba!
Try running a system recovery tapping away to the F11 key, immediately after switching on. It's just to rule out the possibility of a flaky installation which can be corrected by a factory reset.
