Windows disabled remote access to my wireless printer

My printer is connected wireless to the computer at home (so a 'network', I guess).  But the recent problems led me to authorize remote technicians, and apparently, as collateral damage, my printer does not print now.  At one time gave a convenience store, I found a statement that "Windows has denied access to distance", but I can't find out how to restore remote access.  Printer is now installed, and the work and watch as the default printer, with options for "start printing immediately.

Anyone know how to force Windows to restore remote access to my computer to the printer?

Thanks in advance

Rich

  • Windows XP don't reconise new wireless printer

My cousin has an old computer that is running Windows XP.  She bought a new wireless printer that works with his cellphone and the Tablet, but the computer does not recognize the printer.  How this can be solved?

No answer is possible if you do not identify the printer brand and model.  Here is the general answer.

Because an operating system - like Windows XP - cannot know the details of how all the hardware devices to work, manufacturers produce a small program that acts as an interface between the hardware and the operating system.  These programs are called pilots.

As operating systems evolve - Windows XP to Vista to Windows 7, etc. - OEMs must often change their pilots or to provide new drivers to work with the new operating systems.

At some point, the hardware manufacturer will decide it is more trouble should be the pilot for a new device compatible with an earlier operating system.  Considering that Windows XP was released in August 2001 - nearly 15 years - and that Microsoft has ceased all support for Windows XP in April 2014 - two years - would not be surprising if a new printer did not have a driver for Windows XP.

  • ACS 3.0 Windows, VPN, remote access and external databases

I'm trying to implement a VPN solution, and most are very good.

We have a VPN concentrator, which authenticates with CSACS and who, in turn, back off the coast of authentication with a Windows domain. Unknown user policy allows new users themselves create dynamically.

The VPN uses the Cisco VPN client. The hub is visible on the internet, and the bit works fine.

Bit difficult, but we are also trying to set up the access line by using a phone company for users who do not have their own internet access.

I have problems which to authenticate to the Windows domain.

If I manually create a user and add a chap password, this user can authenticate OK. If I manually add a password of chap user can authenticate.

If the user does not exist I get "user CS unknown', if I did not add a password manually, but the user is I get"Invalid password CS CHAP", so it seems that the problem is is interrupting this authentication against the field, but I don't see why.

The telephone company radius server in my network as a aaa client configuration and is almost the same configured as VPN concentrators (the difference is the Conc VPN is configured as 'RADIUS (Cisco VPN 3000)' and as 'RADIUS (IETF)' radius server)

    Any thoughts?

You cannot use CHAP to authenticate a domain Windows, the way THAT CHAP requires the password must be stored is incompatible with the Windows passwords. You need to configure each connection Dial-Up Networking to dial-up users to use MSCHAP or PAP.

  • Is there a way to block my roommates to use my MX922 wireless printer?

I want to limit who has access to my wireless printer. I tried to do by disabling sharing home on my Mac, but still my roommates are able to print from my MX922 printer. Does anyone know how to block others?

    Hello.

The printer is not able to restrict the access of some users.  Any user who can connect to the same local network as the printer will be able to install the device to his computer.

The only alternative to avoid this would be to disable the LAN wireless to the printer and use the printer with a direct USB connection to your PC.

  • Disable Remoting on EA9500

How to disable remote access on the EA9500? The firmware help documentation mentions an option to disable access, but the option is not present in firmware. Port 80 is open on the side WAN.

    Chris3 wrote:
    Correction. The model is EA9400

Port 80 is open on the side of the router WAN. I guess that's for remote access / Smart WiFi from outside the LAN network. Is there a way to disable so that port 80 is not open on the side of the router WAN. Thank you

WiFi Smart does not use port 80 for remote access. It is a Cloud Computing service, so I don't think that all ports are open for remote access. Instead he communications with the Linksys cloud server directly.

Port 80 could be opened by an IP camera or computer to your network if you have UPNP enabled in the EA9500. To test this disable UPNP on the router and restart.

  • Impossible to disable remote VPN

    Hi Experts,

I tried to disable remote access VPN in a SAA.

    ASA (config) # no webvpn
    ASA (config) # end

    ASA # sh run webvpn
    ASA #.

I removed activate inside and activate an external command in webvpn. But still I'm getting the guest in client AnyConnect and when I try URL https I get the page with the error "file not found". How can I disable it completely?

I don't want any web page when I type the URL of the VPN.

    FC

Maybe you have other services that use port 443, as crypto ikev2 turn off customer service port 443, that this will make the ASA listening on 443 even if webvpn and http are disabled.

By entering Show execution | in 443 you can check.

  • laptop is not recognizing wireless printer installed

I use Windows 7 and I have a wireless printer. I installed the printer eleven times. Every two days the laptop no longer recognizes the printer so I need to reinstall it to use it. I tried to remove the older printers after I installed the printer. I am able to delete the printer, but it manifests itself later. How can I get my laptop to remove the additional printers (which refer to the same physical printer) and install the wireless printer without reinstalling every two days?

My last laptop worked fine with the printer wireless, and there's another user who connects to the printer wireless also. I have established that it is my system not the printer.

Any help anyone could offer would be great.

    Thank you!

    Melanie

If you have 10 printers showing removing all but one. Select Start, Control Panel, devices and printers, right-click on the printer icon and select Remove the instrument.

  • Best router for incoming Windows remote access

    Hello
you have a question of a client that is located on an Active Directory Server with a box of Windows Server 2008 running the remote access server. What firewall might recommend that allow connections from the Internet on to the incoming client Windows box?

    See you soon,.
    / Mattias

The FVS336G in a connection between an 'internal' client and server RAS plays no role on the same local network and is not actually involved in out connections - it needs to have pptp passthrough, but that's all.

You may have completely disabled on your 336 port forwarding and you still get the results you report.

First question - the RAS have internet access?
Second question - what do you mean by "inbound NAT?

I have quit using pptp (ipsec spent) earlier but memory everything that is required on the router is to forward port 1723 for the SAR and if you use a dynamic WAN ip address, you must also configure a form any dynamic DNS - DynDNS has worked for me.

For the FVS338 (and probably the 336) - just to add a receptive service and select pptp in unrolling menu, select always allow, and enter the address of the RAS.

  • Wireless ISP and NATing / Remote access

It is more about networking than anything to do with a Microsoft product. I just need some advice.

I have a client who has a security system I have installed. Remote access to security systems are a common practice that I install several times without any major problems, so far. My ISP customer is a NAT through a PPTP connection wireless. I forwarded a port on the router, but he noticed that his WAN is an internal address so additional transfer must be made. I travelled on the next online device and found myself able to connect to the ISP (AirOS) Ubiquiti using the default user/pass. I just took a quick glance and notice that the Ubiquiti has a private wide AREA network that was just another jump in front of it. I don't know how many times it hops, but it could be from several times before arriving at the ISP. Y at - there a work around for this, or it would be possible to convince an ISP to transfer 1 port on every single jump they have between the client and the service provider?

    i unless:

(using WIN 7) switch between the WD network and the network WHN

This is inherent in the implementation of WIN7/WD?  Yes/No?

    Hello

Indeed by connecting to the Direct wireless network you will have no access to the internet, it is an expected behavior:

Wireless connection issues > How do I print wirelessly without a wireless router? > Downsides to peer-to-peer networking:

Your computer can only connect to one wireless network at a time. When it is connected to your printer, it cannot also connect to a wireless router (for Internet access, for example).

I have c4780 wireless printer.  It will print fine using the usb connection, but has never printed wireless.

PC operating system is Windows Vista.  Wireless router is the linksys WRT54G.  The printer does not see the access point.  The security mode of the router is WPA Personal.  I have a unique SSID.  ISP is Timewarner Roadrunner.

How do I get this to a wireless connection?

    Try this firmware update.

In addition, sweat you are broadcasting your SSID and not using MAC filtering.
