  As its been almost a year that it is updated, you may be better off to backup your data and backup of your entire system, so you can get back to this point at least if something goes wrong. Then:

  Update your anti-virus software and run a full scan. Then download, install, update and run a full scan with Malwarebytesfree. Keep it free, no need to start a trial etc. Malware can be a cause of failure of the updates, the scan won't take long to run and should report something nasty, if its there.

  If you do not want to reinstall again, post back with more details, that is at least what is the error code when the updates fail?   Go to the website from Microsoft downloads.  Enter the duration of the update (KBxxxxxx) in the search box and press ENTER. Click the link for the specific update, and then click the download button. You will get the option to run or save the download, Save to your PC.  Once the download has completed, you will get a run option, open the folder or close. Make sure that all other applications are closed and select the run option.  (If you close this window or need to try again to install, just go to the location of the file has been saved, and double-click the file.) This will start the process of installing again.)

  I took my computer compaq running on windows vista & my windows updates will not install what can I do?

  I have been working on this since April too and may not know how to solve this problem.  Last update was in March.  I used the MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run with no luck.  He says that he can not solve the problem and leads to a MS web page, which doesn't help.   I also stop the update services and several DLLs and then restarted them without success, according to a website of windows troubleshooting.  I am not prepared to roll back, nor do I want to reload the operating system.  If I do that, I'm going to Linux.

  Acrobat 9 may behave differently the bit. Please try following steps: -.

  • Uninstall the presenter 7.0.6.
  • Download the installer from the Adobe website 7.0.7 presenter and install in trial mode
  • Go to (\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7) and go inside the AMT folder rename files AdobeConfig.xml and application.sif
  • Revive the presenter

  Presenter installer will sniff the system for a valid license of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and will be activated automatically

  Thank you citrus but it was actually the firewall in my system that it blocked. I had to install the BFE service that does the work. Now I can install any application from the store windows.

  No, these aren't the droids, uh, I mean the drivers he was looking for.

  I agree with the question of the original poster, which, after more than two years, remains unanswered by Microsoft. It seems that MS has a driver PCL 5 (not universal) updated specific 3015, but it fails to install the Windows Update control panel. I finally gave up on it, right click on the update and selected the option to hide it from view.

  Why bother with a solution when I use the button "Sweep-It-under-the-carpet" practice of Microsoft?
