Last night, just kept windows Explorer restart top is on I stop the laptop and he did it again, but he did the same thing as soon as windows has started. I went in Mode safe reflection might be able to solve the problem there, but it's the same thing, kept windows Explorer restart Windows started. Hello

Reinstall the printer driver and your audio/sound driver. Note update drivers was also
one of the methods in the previous troubleshooting. Have you tried the clean boot method?
Did you also run CheckDisk?

If necessary AFTER those try a repair Installation / upgrade on the spot that allows you to keep
programs and data backups however redundant are always a good idea.

You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
Product key. It must be the same version 32 or 64 BIT Vista OEM. Also the system
machine to usually sell the cheap disk since you already own Windows. Don't forget to make a
good backup or 3 (security in redundancy).

On-site upgrade

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Windows Explorer keeps restarting.

    Dear geniuses,
So, I found this egg Easter for Windows 7 that I thought would work for Vista too. It was an Easter egg "GodMode" that had me create a folder and rename it to something and after I made my computer made me reboot Windows Explorer and after I did it did not stop to do. I am not able to access anything (anything on my desk, my Start button, etc.), the only way I can access stuff is if I go into my task manager and that he tell it to create a new task. I can still go on the internet and I can't find any solution. Please help, thanks.

    Hello

1 do you have. what application installed?

    2. have you already check if it's compatible with Windows 7?

    3. what happens when you open any application from the desktop?

    4. you have any application installed on the computer security?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to uninstall the program and check if the problem persists.

    Uninstall or change a program

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

I also suggest you to start the computer in safe mode and perform the clean boot in order to isolate the application that could be causing the problem.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

This could happen if one of the substantive programmes is in conflict with the proper functioning of your computer. To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 7, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.

    Method 3:

I also suggest you go through the steps mentioned in the link and the Coachman.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2694911

Note: Do not forget to save all the date before performing in place it upgrade, also known as a repair installation.

Note: After the upgrade on site, your personal data and installed programs will not be deleted, but you may need to run Windows Update to install all the updates that are available for your system to update these files system to the current version.

Hope this helps and keep us posted.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
    http://www.prevx.com/   <-->
    http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp  <-->

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

  • Windows Explorer keeps returning to the file at the top of the file

I recently started to experience a problem with the Windows Explorer. When I display the contents of a folder with many files or folders in there, so that the vertical scrolling is necessary, I find that if I scroll down (by any method), after about seven seconds, the display returns to show the files/folders at the top of the list, regardless of the question to know if I still have my finger on the mouse button. Also, if I try to change a file name, if I'm not done in 7 seconds approximately., it restores the original file name and any change that I was typing is lost.

    Any suggestions?

Problem seems to be fixed, thank you.
Methods 1 and 2 did not find any problem. Method 3 (Clean Boot) disappear the problem (of the erratic behavior of windows Explorer). I removed several non-Microsoft services that I don't think are necessary and restored Normal startup. The cause of the problem is somewhere between the services that I stopped, but I don't know which application is the culprit. However, none of these services are required and the system boots faster without them!

    +++ RESOLVED +++

    I found the problem...

"Haali splitter" program has a function to display MKV and MP4 as a thumbnail in Windows Explorer. What Windows Explorer crash when I open the folder with MKV huge.

    Thank you all,

  • Windows explore keep crashing

My new laptop has Windows 7 and whenever I open windows Explorer, I am "windows Explorer has stopped working".

I also note that the icons of the system are all off, except the clock and it is all grey.  in a first time after the start of these icons will appear, but after that I open explore and he crash that the icon will disappear.

I tried to update the display driver (I got Intel and Nvidia graphics, I've updated them both to the most recent version), I tried safe mode, disable all the service but the Windows service, I scan complete with anti-virus and anti-malware, I downloaded and installed Microsoft Fix It, but explore crash yet. I also tried sfc/scannow, but it says: "found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them" I tried to read the CBS but I don't understand who is corrupted files.

I tried to fix the problem of system icons by deleting the IconStreams and PastIconStreams regedit, HKEY_CURRENT_USER Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify. He worked for a while, no more explore crash but after a few minutes, it failed again, and system icons is gone again!

whenever Explorer plant for the first time, my laptop still plays this note that usually plays when I first get into windows, the screen flashes a little and then system icons will disappear.

my laptop is still new and all the other function works well, just this problem with Explorer and system icons.

Please help me, I can't use my computer without explore.

I'm not very good with computer, so if you can, please explain to me step by step.

In addition, forgive my bad English, it is not my mother tongue.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Since this is a new computer, you need to check with the system manufacturer's support, their online
documentation, diagnosis and ask questions in the forums about known problems. OEM for the
System manufacturer is responsible for the functioning Windows and hardware.
So whatever the cause it is theirs to solve. And the system is under full warranty and
needs repair or replacement. Added that even if you are somehow able to solve
the question would still want you it documented just in case there are other related issues
    on the road.

You need to do the above is however a few troubleshooting tips:

    Check Option 3 here:

How to fix the system files of Windows 7 with the System File Checker
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/1538-SFC-SCANNOW-Command-System-File-Checker.html

Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important.

Start - type in the search box-> find CMD in top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

put the command from below (copy and paste) in this box and her and then press ENTER.

    findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt

who creates the sfcdetails.txt file in the folder that you are in when you run it.

So if you're in C:\Windows\System32 > then you will need to look in this folder
    for the file.

(SFC.exe) program generates in Windows Vista (and Windows 7)
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928228 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

This creates sfcdetails.txt in C:\Windows\System32 find and you can post the
Errors in a message here. NOTE: probably for duplicates so please only
    After each section once error.

You can read easier log/txt files if you right click on Notepad or Wordpad and then
RUN AS ADMIN - then you can navigate to sfcdetails.txt (in C:\Windows\System32)
or cbs.log (in C:\Windows\Logs) as needed. (You may need to search sfcdetails.txt
If it is not created in the default folders.)

    ===========================================

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - set
SEE drivers to hide Microsoft - update those with Dump in their names. (Also
updated the BIOS and drivers from the chipset on the site of the constructor/the system motherboard).

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

How to stop Windows 7 automatically install drivers
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2500967

    ===========================================

Refer to these discussions because many more excellent advice however remember to check
your antivirus, the main drivers and BIOS update programs and also to solve problems
    with the first method cleanboot.

  • Satellite M40 - 277 keeps restarting - button / stop?

I have the problem that the (per hour to enter acient) laptop Satellite M40 277 of mine keeps restarting unpredictibally. Initially I have if it was a problem of overheating, so I used SpeedFan and CPU-Burn a test, but the computer does not restart until the airflow to the bottom is fine (I consider that the entry of the fan on the bottom a design error, but it's something else). Now, if the air flow is a bit stuffy, the laptop stops at about 83 and then it will have difficulty to challenge. Ok.

However when the laptop is about 63C it restarts sometimes and I feel, it can be a power button is stuck. I have XP installation so that it will always ask before you actually stop, and when I pick up the phone on the side (the plastic box where the power button is integrated in waiting) I often question of the judgment. NP, just click away. But I also feel that the button can get stuck and then the system turns off after 5 seconds of 'holding company' the power button.

So I just tried to get a quick glance and we should normally be able to remove the keyboard, but this M40 is a challenge. Even after that the keyboard is free, I don't see the actual power button.

Is there anyway to loook under high elegant green rim the power button? How to open this thing up?

    Tom

    Hello

As far as I know this little switch cover is fixed by 6 latches and connected with small flat cable to the motherboard. It just seems but if you don't know how to remove it you can damage these small latches and later you won't be able to fix the new.

Anyway, if you think that this power button / troubled maybe just make the switch cover replacement may solve the problem.
What say about it? Try to get the spare part and ask if anyone can exchange it for you.
Of course, the best thing is to ask for professional help, but it will cool somewhat.

Another way, do a risk and try to replace one.
Let me know what you think of this.

    Good bye
