Windows Explorer stops working when you view folders disk hard ext with videos

Please help with this question that I reinstalled vista windows 3 times so far and the problem persists.

When I view the files in certain folders of video vignettes of medium or large size, Explorer stops working and restarts. I thought that the problem came from K-Lite Codec pack, but there seems to be a problem with windows itself that I reinstalled Vista 3 times so far and the problem persists. I tried as much as I can't any other questions on this, but am nowhere, and with limited knowledge of computer maintenance, I'm at a loss and need help.

Change the screen resolution:

Cannot our Association of video files in my files, it says windows Explorer has stopped working.

  • Windows Explorer stops working when USB drive is ejected

    Hi all

I'm having a problem with the windows Explorer. When you eject a USB device, windows Explorer stops working and must restart. It also stops working when trying to get the properties of the USB device. I watched "Event Viewer" and there is an error log that says this:

The failing application name: Explorer.EXE, version: 6.1.7601.17567, time stamp: 0x4d672ee4
Name of the failed module: SHLWAPI.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7c9ab

Now, I had this problem on my home computer and tried to replace the file SHLWAPI.dll with whom I had the internet, but it bugged my computer and had to re - install windows. Also visit the web site of the manufacturer of the computer support and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number. If you have Windows 7 drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install them all, starting with the drivers card mother/chipset, SATA, USB, Audio, LAN, etc.

    Method 1:

If a Protection of resources Windows (WRP) file is missing or is damaged, Windows may not behave as expected. Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:

  • Windows Explorer stops working when I try to access a drive mapped on my FTP server on the internet.

I just changed web pages (using Crimson editor) and instead to save the files on my hard drive I just left open and "hibernating" my machine overnight.  After 3 days of having an FTP connection (opened by a mapped drive) setting on my computer hibernation, I accidentally hit Shut Down, and I lost all my work, ARGH! (Yes, I know, I should have better). In any case, now when I open my computer and click on the FTP of the mapped drives, I get the message that Windows Explorer has stopped working.  And if I go to Internet explorer (7), enter ' ftp://mysite.com it brings me to a root FTP page where it says: to view this FTP site in Windows Explorer, click Page, and then click Open the FTP Site in Windows Explorer. " I do that and it brings up a window of the Explorer windows momentarily and then I get the message. Explorer Windows has stopped working.  Any ideas? I hope I don't have to reinstall the operating system.  I did a system restore to 4 days ago. It did not work.

    Hi SewNSew,

To refine the question, I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Set the clean boot computer and try to access the drive

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link

Step 2: The utility of Auditor (SFC) for the file system allows administrators to perform an analysis of all protected resources to make sure they are the correct version. Whether SFC should find all incorrect versions in one of these protected resources, SFC will be replaced by the correct versions.

You can still run a SFC scan on the windows vista computer. To run a scan suite SFC as follows:

    (a) click Start and in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    (b) at the command prompt type sfc/scannow , and then press ENTER.

    If the problem persists,

Step 3: Disable control (UAC) user account and make sure to do this, follow these steps:

    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.

    2. click on Turn User Account Control on or off.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Select the use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer, clear the check box to disable UAC, and then click OK.

Important: It is not recommended to disable UAC; We just try to limit the question. Please, enable UAC after the test is performed. See the link below:

I have read most of the messages of the community on this subject and tried without success. I am trying to copy pictures from my SD card to record pictures. Now when I do it, Explorer stops working, and a message appears, "Windows Explorer has stopped working - Windows Explorer is re-start", and the explore program stops. Doing so the bar tasks disappears and then reappears as if the PC starts. I would be grateful to know if someone had a similar problem and found a solution?

  • Windows Explorer stops responding when you access file downloads

I'm having a problem with the Windows Explorer does not when I try to access the downloads folder. The problem seems related to a file, a Java .exe file I downloaded. Explorer hangs up as soon as I try to do something with this file, I can't even remove it. I got out the folder other files in desktop and using research and move the file, but when I try to do something with this file, Explorer crashes again.

No video file in the folder, the file problem seemed to be a Java update file. I managed to remove using an third-party uninstall program, and the problem seems to have disappeared. My best guess is that the update program has been altered during the download.

  • Windows Explorer stops working whenever I have connect a USB flash drive and try to access

    Hello. I use Windows Vista.

I had a particular problem. Whenever I have plug in a USB key and try and access it, I get a pop saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working." the file is closed. If I wait a long time (i.e. 10 seconds), I might be able to get into the drive without any problems, but even when there is no guarantee. The problem persists in each USB slot I use. In addition, it is not that the computer is not able to detect it. It can detect and identify that it is a USB flash drive. It's just that whenever I try to access (or the folders inside the flash player), windows Explorer stops working and restarts.

Does anyone have this problem before? And any help is appreciated. Thank you.

The mistake made reference the MSVCR80.dll, which is a Microsoft file, but it may be another third party file, causing the problem.

  • Windows Explorer stops working at random times while browsing files.

Windows Explorer stops working at random times while browsing files. I tried to fix this by doing a start-up in minimal mode, but without any result.
It all started with a similar problem, Explorer windows stops working at first upward and restarts and stops working again and restarts again and keeps it doing. I've tried several things like do a clean boot, by safe mode, but even there it happened the same thing but this time, stop once and restart it once, and then it worked normally. When I started windows normally, it did the same thing, so I tried and inplace upgrade and did not work, so finally I did a cover, but only on the first partition, which is the operating system, now I have this problem, Explorer stops working at random times while browsing the folders, it restarts, but then the same thing happens.
Please help me I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and sorry for my bad English.

    Hello
I tried your methods, but still did not work. In the meantime, I did a full restore to two partitions, and it worked. I guess the problem was I uninstalled a few unwanted games, which came with the pc and the anti-virus of the trial.
