  After the free upgrade to WIN7 for WIN10 my laptop has no noise (with internal or external speakers).   I'm happy to announce that I now have sound on my laptop G71-340US. After that more detailed error troubleshooting I found that there is an application called IDT Audio PC (aka IDT HD Sound) installed on my laptop by HP (OEM), I think. While I don't know exactly what function of this application is, it seems, it is related to activation of the feature of IDT HD Codec drivers. Somehow, I decided to look in Task Manager - startup and I saw this listed IDT Audio PC. I clicked on disable and then a minute later clicked on activate. After I did that, as simple as it seems, I have now heard both internal and external speakers. This is the first time I heard all the sounds since the upgrade to WIN10. I checked several times by re-booting my laptop and every time I now have sound. I will continue to test it through the week and see if it continues to be OK. In the meantime, I thought I'd share this potential fix (or solution) with all stakeholders. Perhaps others will find this useful and give me your comments. Fingers crossed!

  PS. BTW, if anyone out there knows what PC IDT sound is by all means share your knowledge. I'm curious why this app appears more often in the forum messages and how it can relate to the WIN10 upgrade. Sorry, but I do not remember what prompted me to look at the task - starting but Manager I'm glad I did. It's great to hear again!

  Are you sure that the program has disappeared? It is not easily deleted by accident.  I wonder if she might still be there.  Lets check do we.

  Click on 'start '.
  In the bottom of the start menu search box type "Windows DVD"
  This should start research on demand.
  Look at the top of the Start Menu and you should see "Creating Windows DVD" pop-up.
  If it is ther, then it is not uninstalled, you can click it and start the program.
  If it is not there please answer with this result and we will go from there.

  Since the upgrade to Windows 7 (32 bit), I get this message when I run fre:ac.

  "Access to CD-ROM drives was denied by Windows', followed by 'please contact your administrator." "etc.
  I get this even when logged in as administrator!

  The result is that I can't use fre:ac to rip CDs. The drive works fine in the case and works with Windows Media Player.

  Fre:AC worked fine with XP, but not with Windows 7, it seems.

  Problem solved.

  It seems that access has been denied not by Windows, but Comodo firewall...

  I tried to uninstall fréac and put it back and noticed that Comodo has been put into the sandbox it - after I said no fréac began to work properly.

  If you bought Home Premium and installed over ("Custom" / Clean install) erasing so Home Basic you have no problem.

  As for using the rearm option, you can use a limited number (4times) for a maximum of 120 days, I wouldn't worry about the use of the command to rearm as it is widely published all over the internet and Microsoft has never prevented anyone to use.
