Windows freezes for 5 to 10 seconds every few minutes.

After the upgrade to Win 8.1, I had some experiences with my computer freezing for 5 to 10 seconds every few minutes. Music continues to play, the cursor keeps blinking (although sometimes it freezes too) and the mouse can be moved, but try typing don't work and try to close, open, move or otherwise interact with the programs (applications office and modern) fails. Then, at the end of the gel in short, everything what has been done during freezing happens everything both. Restart breeze the trend until it starts again (sometimes hours later, other time days).

It seems to be overheating problems and SFC came clean the problem only arose recently (well that before, it happened sometimes with IE only but who stopped). I'm not running 3rd party antivirus and Defender is coming clean, and so have free McAfee scan.

My computer is a Dell XPS 1520 running Windows 8.1 update update 1.

One last note, the problem seems to occur sometimes when I use Windows built-in backup of the file system. I can't actually think any time it all started when I was not hung on the backup media, even if it persists after the disconnection. I used three different types of backup media, so I don't know if one of the drives is the cause, but I will deal with that now.

I've updated a Tecra 8200 with a retail version of Windows XP Pro SP2 (256 MB RAM) it was a new installation after reformatting the drive. I think I've loaded all Microsoft Windows updates and drivers from the site Web of Toshiba.
The laptop freezes for about 30 seconds every few minutes, even when you try to open a session.
Also when starting for the first time there is a constant repetitive ping of the noise, which I assume is the hanging windows startup sound. Finally, it stops and it can be used for a few minutes.

    Can someone please?

    Hello

In my opinion, you should buy more RAM. As far as I know, this unit can manage with 512 MB max. You can use PC100 256 MB (PA3069U - 1 M 25). I'm sure the spirit more RAM there are much more likely to make it work.

I hope that all hardware components are recognized and installed correctly. You can also try to check which processes are active and I advise you to stop. On this way, the processor has more power for other applications.

  • Qosmio F50-125 freezes for 2 seconds every 10 minutes

    Hello.

On 15 may, I noticed that my laptop freezes for 2-3 seconds every 10 minutes.
I use the original Windows Vista 32 bit.

I remember my firewall (Comodo) program update and Toshiba TEMPRO that day.
I tried to restore the system to the State on May 7, but the problem persists.

Is anyone else experienced this problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

What happens if you try to uninstall the firewall that you have updated? In my view, this could be the reason of this problem because with the new TEMPRO version, I have very good experience and it s faster than the old version.

Then uninstall the firewall and use CCleaner to clean the system. Maybe that's market and then you must use another firewall (Windows Firewall for example).

  • Toshiba 32AV615DB screen flickers offshore for a split second every few seconds

    Hello

I got my toshiba TV to the end of 2009 and have not had any problems until recently.

While watching my Virgin + box and while on the game console, the screen flickers offshore for a fraction of a second every few seconds.

At first I thought it was me flashing, it happens that fast until someone else noticed it as well.
This does not happen all by using the TV for a monitor for my PC.

Anyone know what the problem is and if I am able to fix it or not?

I bought the TV RicherSOunds with a guarantee 5 years so if it is something bad I can resume and they will fix it or give me a new free.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

If the warranty is still valid, I recommend you contact the technician (point of service) in your country to control the TV.

All you can do is check some settings and connection cable, but that's it.
Troubleshooting TV is limited and in most cases, these issues need an audit by experts.

  • Audio Software OR Traktor - freezes for about half a second because of Dual Core

    Hello

I've been test Native Instruments Traktor DJ Studio 3 and very often the audio timeline would freeze for about half a second and the game continues. I also have a good low latency soundcard PCI card, so that does not these breaks.

I managed to get rid of this problem by disabling the second processor core in the BIOS setup. However, I don't like the fact that I'll have to do each time that I use Traktor.

Is it a hardware problem or software? Software that does not use the two hearts should be able to run without problems, but apparently, there are a few interruptions happening that prevent some programs smoothly.

That's why I'm posting here instead of the forums of NOR.

    Hello

Why wouldn't be a hardware problem?
The fact is that the processors with dual core Intel design and it will appear in Device Manager. Also I m sure that Intel will design with double CPU and core more in the future.

However, I think and I'm sure it's only a software problem. Software developers have overlooked this fact that there could be another type of processors. In my opinion, you must contact the software manufacturing support to clear this problem. Maybe a few updates are available.

    That's all I can suggest.

  • Every few minutes, we receive a small Microsoft Windows pop-up window that says: «Carbonite Secure Backup Engine not working anymore...» »

Every few minutes, we receive a small Microsoft Windows pop-up window that says: "Carbonite Secure Backup Engine has stopped working and was closed.  A problem with the application to stop functioning properly.  Windows will notify you if a solution is available. »

Our computer remotely accessible Carbonite technician.  He said Carbonite works correctly and could not understand why we continue Gets the pop-up.  Carbonite has been uninstalled and reinstalled twice, but the pop up comes back.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

Generally, this sort of thing occurs when a program conflict makes one or the other case work, maybe even for a few seconds. During these few seconds Windows will pick it up and give you this popup. Here's a possible solution:

    1. Click the start or Windows Orb.
    2. In the search bar, type 'system' (without the quotes)
    3. At the top of search results, there will be an option for "System Configuration"
    4. A window willl pop up, with several tabs and options. Click on the tab "General".
    5. On this tab, there will be a selection for the "selective startup". Click on this button.
    6. Then two options becomes clickable, deselect the option "Load Startup items".
    7. Restart your computer. ! WARNING: Do not access the internet during this time because you will be vulnerable to viruses, spyware and software malware!
    8. Once he starts back, Carbonite Backup launch, because no program will run.

The problem should be solved. If this is the case, immediately turn on your antivirus program and enjoy your work computer. If not,

    1. Follow steps 1 through 5 above to return to the System Configuration.
    2. Under Selective startup, uncheck also load Services.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. Once it starts, run Carbonite.

It should now be resolved. If this is not the case, there is certainly a problem with either Carbonite or how Carbonite and Windows work together, and you should communicate with each other.

For further assistance, if this does not resolve the problem, then slowly run your normal programs one by one until the multibordure question once again. You have now isolated the program conflict! Congratulations!

    violations

  • Every few minutes, I get a message "not responding" and I can't do anything until he goes.

Every few minutes (sometimes in less than 60 seconds, Firefox crashes upward. If I try to keep typing I have a message "do not answer" and will have to wait until he's going to continue. This always occurs when you browse through my e-mail, but it happens to other sites, whenever I have to type an entry. I have tried disabling all my modules and it still happens. I deleted Firefox and reloaded it and the problem persists. I'm about to go back to Microsoft Explorer, because it is too long to navigate in Firefox. I use Windows 7, 64 bit, on a one-year-old Dell with a lot of speed, laptop memory and hard disk space.

    See Firefox crashes

Also, try running Firefox in questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode. If it works properly in this configuration, then one of your modules is the culprit.

I also notice a couple of old installations plugin in your system specs. I recommend you to update Flash on v10.2.159.1 which also addresses a recently discovered Zero Day exploit. See Adobe releases Flash Player security update

  • my game 'SkyRim, Elder Scrolls V' crash, black screen, every few minutes.

My Games for Windows 'SKYRIM, Elder Scrolls V' game continues to crash every few minutes. I tried everything suggested by the manufacture of game and the site of the game "Steam", where the game is played, but nothing is. I have all my drivers updated. My PC is greater than all the recommended requirements to run the game. I reinstalled the game, updated the game, scanned the game, updated my windows software, you name it I tried it. The game installed and started very well, but after 4-5 minutes of the game, it just hangs at a black screen, with the sound in the game always running. After a minute or so, the sound stops and a humming noise replace. I have to press the button for a few seconds so that the PC to shut down. CTL + alt + delete does not work when the game crashes.

My PC is a gateway DX4840 with intel Core i5 650 processor running the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit @ 3.2 GHz, 4 GB memory DDR3 Ram, ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics card PCIe with 1 GB of memory, Cox Cable Internet connection with a Motorola cable modem,. & DLink Wireless N Router, 15 MBS

connection. I TB Sata hard drive, a RW Super Multi DVD/CD drive. Sometimes the game will work very well for half an hour or more before it crashes, but most of the

time it hangs after only 4 or 5 minutes. I learned to Quicksave my game about every 3 or 4 minutes so that I can make progress. So far, I've played the game for hours 946, which meens it crashed several thousand times so far. As I said before, I've tried everything suggested to solve the problem. Nothing works so far. I'm retired so I have a lot of room on my hands, & I like the game, except for accidents. Any suggestions? Give up, this is NOT an option.

Update on the problem of crash: I now 1060 + hours of game play and still have not solved the problem of crash. Normally, I run that my computer with no auto update turned on what so ever, not even Windows auto update. I thought that this could be the cause of the Windows error log entry that says "TESV.exe has stopped interacting with Windows and stopped. So I enabled Windows automatic update - no change at all. The game always crashes all the minutes. I noticed that most of the occre crashes just like, or just after that I walk around with my charictor @ change of direction all of a sudden or rapid movement in one direction for a while or for a very long distance. One last thing, I sometimes use "God Mode Cheat Code" to get out of a very difficult situation in the game. The use of cheats in the console will cause outages? If yes how can I disable the protection 'Punk buster type' game modes that could have the default set. I have several Mods installed but I had crashes before I never installed one of the Mods. I have over 50 Mods installed either. I completely run out of ideas and patience with the way to solve this problem. It is, of course, put a damper on my enjoyment of the game. If I was not so bull headed, I would have given to the top a long time ago. I really like the game but cannot aford to buy many more mice or keyboards, to replace the ones I ruined right after a game crash. I splashed several mice out of my wall of the apartment when my temper got the best of me. I think it's better than bottling up anger and having a heart attack. lol just kidding. 2 mouse and 1KO have bit the dust so far but my 2 female roommates are starting to think I'm a little crazy. They ask why I continue to play the game, and I tell them 'because I love so much." New suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Gary D. Hoover

If you look at the forums of Bethesda, the thread "Skyrim plant" is 74 pages, now (http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1270631-crashes-during-gameplay/page__st__2190), and no one finds a universal solution for this widespread problem.

Your computer's specifications are more than OK, it's the game itself that is causing the issues. Some argue lock TESV.exe (executable of the game) to steam is the cause, and revert to the version 1.1 (where TESV.exe can be launched without the steam launcher) stopped the breaks down. Others find that the change in the sound settings helped (24-bit, 44100 Hz). Others, even once, noticed that the 1.3 update (the update of 4GB memory patch) stopped accidents or aggravated their. The use of mods can also be a negative factor. Etc.etc.

It would help if you had an error log any. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon that spontaneous TCTC happen without leaving any trace, but you can type "perfmon /rel" in the search (without quotes) bar to open the reliability monitor where accidents can be declared as events with a cross within a red circle. For example: one of the users of the forums above could provide a log of errors with "BEX" and "Code of Exception: c0000409 '-c' is a mistake that could be avoided by temporarily disabling DEP, DEP data (enabled by default on 64-bit CPU).

Regardless of the exact reason in your case: what I can say as a player of all YOUR (I - V) games on different hardware, is that Bethesda has implemented a RCG (random crash generator) in all their game engines. It's so random that you can play a game for 200 hours and nothing happens, it works perfectly. And when you reinstall the next time or start a new game, it crashes so often to be unplayable.
