  I have been using the calendar gadget on my desktop for a few years now.  I have Windows Vista and update of IE 9.  My clock gadget and the weather always both work, but now my calendar does not work.  It does not display the date... it is just empty.  I tried the fix was recommended and even restarted my computer, but none worked.  Help!

  Step 1: you can try to restore the gadget.

  To do:
  a. right click on the sidebar on the right side of your screen.
  b. go to properties.
  c. at the bottom of the window you will find a tab to restore Gadgets installed with Windows, click it.

  This will restore it to the default setting. It has to become your Gadget weather work.

  
  Step 2:

  a. click on start-> all programs-> Accessories-> right-click "Command Prompt" and select "run as Administrator".
  b. type these commands one by one:

  Regsvr32 atl.dll
  Regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\sbdrop.dll".
  Regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\wlsrvc.dll".

  I was doing a box of pop - up everyday or invites me to update my MSN Explorer browser.  I used to ignore and close Finally, I clicked Yes to upgrade.  Now I can not access the Windows Gadgets by right clicking and then clicking on "gadgets".  I also had a clock Gadgets Windows on my screen which disappeared since I did the upgrade to MSN Explorer.

  1. what happens when you right-click on the desktop and clicks on gadget? The option is missing?
  In the meantime, follow these steps.
  Step 1:
  a. click on start

  b. click Control Panel

  c. appearance and personalization

  d and click 'restore the desktop gadgets installed with Windows.

   

  This will bring up the window of the Gadgets from office with a message indicating "administrator installed gadgets and all the windows have been restored.
  Step 2:
   
  Perform a System Restore to the point that it worked fine. Next time you get a command prompt to install MSN explore update/upgrade, I would suggest that you check the option that says "don't show".

• Windows gadgets Google Desktop 7 has stopped working

  MS announced long ago that Gadgets were going to disappear.  They said it was a security issue.  I think it's related to IE11.  The only gadget that always seems to work is the analog clock.

  CPU meter icon that shows the CPU usage and load will appear ugly/blurry when you increase the size of the font in the middle.
   
  The problem may have arose the possible reasons:
   
  1. all by increasing the size of the font, the user can enabled the option of Let me choose a level of scaling for my monitors.
   
  2 and the option to change the size of the text was disabled due to the previous option being checked.
   
  As the gadget supports only two sizes and because of the options as there are bad for you.
   

  I suggest you make changes only with the change only the text size.

  It's good to hear. I have collected a number of more complex solutions proposed for this problem with the Google desktop gadgets and grouped into a command line (.) CMD batch file) that can run on any Windows 7 user with access to the administrative credentials (e.g. username and password).

  If you want to try an automated process to repair your Google desktop gadgets, first create a restore point. I ran more than 30 times the script batch file on 3 different computers to Windows 7 with no ill effects, but I can't be responsible for your.

  The file is on my SkyDrive. If you want to use it to repair your gadgets, Google desktop, or simply look at the batch file to your organization, click here. A complete list of the actions of the command used is available at the bottom of this post.

  This may be caused by corruption of the gadgets. You can try to restore gadgets.

  To do:

  1. right click on the gadget.

  2. go in properties.

  3. at the bottom of the window you will find a tab to restore Gadgets installed with Windows, click it.

  This will restore it to the default setting. This should get your time and work of Gadget RSS.

  Method 3:

  If it does not restore gadgets, you can use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow the link below.

  I suggest you follow the steps mentioned to re - install Windows gadgets

  • To reinstall Windows Gadget platform, go to Panel > programs > features on or off Windows activate
  • In the Windows features, check the Platform Gadget Windows and click OK to start the installation.

    

  • After installation, restart your PC

  I fixed it myself by removing the cache for all the gadgets and then reinstall said Gadget

  For any other person having this problem, here's how I did it.

  • Close the Gadget
  • Navigate to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Cache
  • Remove all files & folders here
  • Re-install the Gadget
  • Problem solved (at least for me!)

  Additional notes
  If you need to uninstall the Gadget completely, you can re - install all of the Gadgets that come with Windows by following these steps

  • Click Start
  • Restore type in Gadget
  • Select Restore Gadgets installed with Windows Office
  • This will put back all the Windows by default Gadgets
