Got the "upgrade kit" update to Windows 7 for 64-bit to a 64-bit Vista OS. Has made the Upgrade Advisor, enlists Dell first, me Deauthorize Itunes - done, uninstall my printer - in fact, Dell Tools uninstall - made, said, all good, run Windows 7 - has done and, now, I'm on a restart loop. I called Dell, complete scam: they want $269.00 to "software". Read all articles about MS and Dell work together to bring '7' to the end user and the end user obtained just watered.  How to exit this loop of reboot? Widows 7 ran completely and looked at things would happen, then I received the following message: "Windows cannot complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, run the Setup again. "PC - i7, 8 GB, 1 GB vid, AVG paid version and cannot go back to my Vista OS!  Tried using restore... no good.

You will probably be able to break out by pressing the top and bottom keys management during the first part of the black screen reboot.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 of 2007 which came with Vista and has been updated 2 years later at 7 w. I had to reinstall 7 W... 3 or 4 times since 2010. I guess that my machine can't handle W7 very well.

My current problem started with a BSOD problem. After trying some suggestions Internet on how to solve this BSOD problem that did not work, including repair of Windows, I did a data back up mode without failure and then decide to reinstall Windows 7 from the MS CD. My level of understanding is limited, but as noted, I've done this before with success. What I didn't understand is there seems to be another unsolved problem which does not allow the complete reinstallation of windows.

I did a clean install, then a formatting and in both cases, W7 could not complete the installation. It progresses to the final stage of "complete installation" and then there is a second error message 1 that I can't read... "" a problem has been detected... close... "."  It seems to be a reboot loop.

I have since read that the original BSOD problem and the 'detected problem' could also well be linked to the display driver. And this driver it must be disabled before performing a Windows installation. But I'm not able to access Safe Mode or the control panel to turn it off. If this driver is the problem, is there another way to turn it off?

Or are there any other suggestions on how to complete the installation of the operating system?

    Hmmm...

    NVIDIA drivers are definitely outdated.

If the system just stops (literally goes off), I suppose a marginal connection inside, an out-of-date driver or a heat problem.

You can carefully and without requiring too much force, remove one reinstall all you cable and connection inside including your RAM and all other devices installed just do one thing at the time, so you don't mix.  One thing at a time... Unplug it and plug it in again.

If she runs in Mode safe, your it would mean that the system uses the default XP video drivers (that is why everything is so GREAT in Mode safe).

When you start normally and will charge drivers NVIDIA, things will run more hot.  Will increase the time on the CPU and video card.  Make sure that all your fans are running, and the system is properly ventilated and ventilated.

If the CPU or processor on the video card is a problem of heat it just stop - no warning, no newspaper, no nothing.  Cool that turned off for awhile and it could work again for a bit.

I use the NVIDIA site and let scan them online take a look at your video system and see what he suggests for drivers and consider their analysis if they offer a new driver.

It is recommended to run the scan NVIDIA with Internet Explorer.

It seems that you are unable to format DVD, you get an error that it is unable to complete the format.

You format the drive by using the "active file system?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps that you can try to solve this problem.

Method 1: Run the following fix - it.

Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media.

  • Windows 7 recovery media is unable to complete the installation

I have had a total hard drive on my HP Pavilion DV6-3108EA failure and got the relevant HP recovery media and install a spare drive compatible plug - in this case, it's a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 500 GB solid state of direct replacement for the deceased Samsung 500 GB disk drive. Drive diagnostic confirms that the replacement drive is fully functional without error.

The recovery kit comes with 3 DVDs. tightening of the bolts 1 and 2 are the Windows 7 recovery media and #3 is the recovery of applications and drivers. 1 recovery attempt has done OK, loaded all three DVD but eventually stuck at a screen "loading devices (40%). ", which would not go further even after a night's sleep. Therefore, power off, and...

Attempt 2 is better. I jumped 3 DVD and the construction seems to be almost complete but finally stopped with hearwarming message that "Windows cannot complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer restart the installation"frustrating, I think you'll agree.

Out of curiosity I tried ctrl-alt-del what task manager open nicely and from there I was able to do many things including use setup to reconnect to my wireless router, enter the number of license Win 7 OK and activate windows, get the right keyboard configuration and launch a copy of IE8 with which I am still typing this message.

It seems so I have a PC almost fully functional except that Windows could not complete the installation and if I click the OK button in the offending dialog box, it restarts and returns to the same dialog box. Very frustrating. Oh and there is no button start / menu start so clearly there are always things to be completed.

The recovery media is "System Recovery Kit for portable Pavilion or Presario" (COL35379_631054_031) for which I paid £35,12 and expect to deliver the goods. But it doesn't work. Also remarkable is that the recovery media did not build a D: partition of recovery disk, contrary to what he says. Can anyone help?

It's frustrating. Fortunately, I can also access this forum and this email addressfrom my Android Tablet and check there return from time to time. Really appreciate your ideas and help here.

Either by the way, on a different thread, I read the assertion that HP requires to change a chip on the motherboard when you change a drive. This disc is loaded with tools and Windows software and saving the configuration changes as my wireless network details I don't buy that one. Thanks for reading this far.

Hoping for wise leaders to help me move forward.

    With regard to Al

So close and yet so far.

But I would like to clear one thing up to HP support were excellent - good focus on my ideas of the problem and a commitment to see it through.  No worries about to buy me the hot spare elsewhere.  Problem still not solved, but I'm more forward with other ideas to pursue.  I was told to reset the BIOS date to 2012 (don't know what difference that would make but there) and the construction has progressed much further this time.

More anon, but had to post a message praising the support that I received today.

    Result!

Fixing the date of the BIOS to 2012 has allowed the recovery to go much further, but still have up to a point where he had failed.  So, why?

Silly me!  Should have read the instructions on the screen and their follow-up religiously.  Eventually, the restore process (which takes a lot of time) begins to re - install applications and other things.  The message on the screen at the beginning of this process very clearly said that it will automatically reboot several times.  However, being a little too eager to get there, I finally saw a message that said that such and such an application requires a restart to complete the installation and stupidly I clicked the button restart now.  Who killed for the rest of the installation.  Finally I have sussed out - and kept following reconstruction my itchy fingers away from the mouse to the manuscript to rebuild whole had been terminated, making his own restarts suff and hey hop... a PC entirely restored with a nice new Samsung SSD drive.

As an aside, if you plan to replace your hard drive (defective or not) with a Samsung SSD tested loading the Wizard software that comes with it to optimize the OS to SSD hardware.  It optimizes the things like the prefetcher and Super-fetch to the machine and the drive to work more effectively together - very impressive.

Kudos to HP who were great support.  I know that some people say thay have bad experiences.  Mine here in the United Kingdom was outstanding.  The guy listened, asked good questions, gave good advice and has been a pleasure to work with - what would you like... oh yes, his advice worked!

Thanks to HP real home to my little crisis.

A lot of work to do now to recover data, backups (yes I) and re - install a large number of tools that I use, but all disks are there and it's just a matter of time now.

    All the best

    Al

  • Unable to complete the installation of windows vista, error message "Windows cannot configure one or more system components to install Windows, restart the computer, and restart the installation.

    tan7655,
If I read this correctly, you have a portable computer that do not have an operating system on it.  You try to install Vista and get the error.
You've restarted the Vista installation?  So then you get the same error? If you have tried to install more than once and continue to receive this error, check that the laptop is capable of Vista?  You may need to check with the manufacturer of the laptop to see if it is able to support Vista. INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Hi, I am using the windows 7 Home premium with Sony Vaio netbook.  This message appears when I've been windows installation since it is newly purchased, "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, run the Setup again"when I click ok, and then the computer restarts automatically and then come back to this message. I reboot several times but the result was always the same. Home premium to Windows 7 has been with the netbook already, so I don't have the Disc... can someone help me solve this problem? Thank you very much

My colleague has had a similar problem when she came back to the States with a new Vaio from Sony, I didn't just run recovery and reinstall Windows and its worked good since. She even gave me a hug for fixing.

The problem seems to be the OOBE which would suggest its more hardware than windows, but I understand your nature, you want to be right about everything.

    Hello

First, I would not use the store...

The installation media is available here, and you will only need to download once...

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

    Just run to win 8...

Disable or uninstall preference any of 3rd party security program...

Disable any type of automatic backup program that may run...

If it still doesn't work, try unplugging your internet connection...

Also... You can remove the content from the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and make a filesystem on disk cleanup before trying again with new media...
