Windows live essentials found in the Add/Remove program

Hi guys,.

My windows live messenger has stopped working suddenly... it was fine 2 days ago. So I decided to re - install windows live essentials. Unfortunately, it still does not, and things became worse. I heard forums have offered to install an older version and let windows update to the latest version.

I tried to remove them again in Add/Remove program. but they aren't there. The problem is that when I want to install an older version, it says I have a newer version. and when I want to delete the most recent version. I can't find it anywhere...

help needed ASAP!

Thank you

It's usually easy to fix, but if you removed all the dll and inf files, you can have a bunch of other problems that you have not yet discovered.

If you mean when you try to use Add/Remove Windows components you see a message like this:

Install was not able to load the master file.
The application could not be initialized.

This happens because this file is missing:

    c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf

There is no copy backup of this file on your system and run the System File Checker will not replace the missing file (sorry, that Microsoft committed Support Engineer 'experts').

You will need to get a real copy of your XP bootable installation CD or from a reliable source.

There's a copy on my SkyDrive, you can download - here's how:

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, put a copy of the file in this folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\Inf

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file named sysoc when the name of the file should really be called sysoc.inf (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You must then copy and paste the downloaded folder appropriate on your system.

  • Withdrawal of obsolete lists in the Add/Remove program list?

I'm working on the clean-up of an older system running Windows XP Pro. The system has two hard drives... whose the second crashed and burned in a fatal way. Software that has been installed on the second drive hard disappeared and is not installed on the replacement drive. The problem this presents, although perhaps minor but annoying, however, is that programs that were on the second disc appear on the Add/Remove Programs list, accessed via the Control Panel, even if they are no longer really exist on the system. Is there a good way to clean the list add/remove program entries for programs that have been lost and never be recovered due to a failure of hard drive like that? Also, are there any other proceedures recommended to clean all traces of system programs that have been lost in this way? Try to remove the traces of these programs using the Add/Remove list does not of course because the entries in the list of reference locations and files that no longer exist.

    Thank you.

Download ccleaner from piriform. Click Tools > uninstall. Highlight the entries that appear, but is really installed. Then choose Delete. Reformatting is an extreme measure for a simple issue resloved. Regarding running the ccleaner registry cleaning tool, that I personally used for several years without a single incident. This does not apply to all the registry tools however.

    CCleaner - home

It is also a trustworthy tool.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program

    1. Open programs and features by clicking on the button start , by clicking on the Control Panel, click programs, and then click programs and features.

    2. Select a program and then click on uninstall. Some programs include the ability to modify or repair the program in addition to uninstall. but many simply offer the option uninstall. To change a program, click on change or repair. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • Generic icon in the Add/Remove Programs list

Hello to you all, useful forum fans!

I have a nice custom icon that I built in my specs of the executable version, but when I use an installer to install my program, the icon in the Add/Remove Programs list is the software generic one (with the box open and CD).  How can I get my custom icon to use in the list as well?  I'm using LabVIEW 8.5.1 (and wishing my company should pay for 2010! ).

    Thanks for your help,

  • Remove programs that don't let you do it from the Add/Remove programs in XP screen

I am running Windows XP.  A week or two ago while logging into my account, the program Sonic Record now kept wanting to connect to update.  However, when Sonic Update Manager was trying to "collect data" it gave an error that the network does not work (I'm not on a network).  Anyway, I got feed with this and tried to remove the program under the screen XP Add/Remove programs.  The program is there, but when you click it, it will not bring up the screen so you can remove it.  And I went to programs on the C:\ drive and deleted the folder of the program did a reboot.  No luck.  The Sonic program always tries to use the Manager to update.  Also, I tried to reload the program using the disc that came with the computer when I bought it.  I get a message saying essentially that I need to remove the current program first.  However, the program Sonic record has already been deleted.

What I do next and how remove a program in Add/Remove Program screen, after clicking on the program, it won't bring the option to remove?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you very much.

Try to remove with this tool.

How can I put add/remove programs in alphabetical order, they are all caught up I restored my computer to an earlier time and Add/Remove programs came mixed

I don't understand what you want.

There is no add/remove programs in Windows 7.

The equivalent is programs and features.

The default value is organized alphabetically.

If you click the column header marked name must change the sorting in alphabetical order.

  • Install software (games, etc.) doesn't show is not in the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. Vista Home Basic, 32-bit.

Vista Home Basic, 32-bit. Install software (games, etc.) does not not in Control Panel Add/Remove programs or CCleaner RevoUninstaller. They use all to. I don't know what has changed. Nothing new has been installed. How can I remove the software I want to uninstall? Thanks for your help.

    Hi il898,

This can also occur if the installation files are broken or missing for the program which may be reason for the program does not appear in uninstall a program from the list.

I suggest that you run the program to install the program again and check if you get an option to uninstall the program and try to uninstall the program.
If it still does not uninstall the program, and then try to reinstall the program and uninstall afterwards.

    I hope this helps!

  • the "Add/Remove Program" section in Control Panel does not when I try to delete a program

    I use XP

Since we don't know anything about your system, here are some general thoughts:

Click Start, run, and in the box, enter these commands one at a time (or copy and paste the commands into the box run), and then click the OK button after each command:

    regsvr32 appwiz.cpl
    (DllRegisterServer in successful appwiz.cpl)

    regsvr32 mshtml.dll
(depending on your configuration, you can get an error... proceed)

    regsvr32 "c:\program Files\Fichiers communs\System\Ole DB\Oledb32.dll.
(including the quotation marks...  DllRegisterServer in successful ole32.dll)

    See how things look now.
