  • Windows Mail & Windows Live Mail does not start, could not open the message store

Windows Mail & Windows Live Mail will not start. In both cases, I get an error message "Windows Mail could not be started. The application could not open the windows mail message store. Your Windows Mail mailbox data is currently used by another program, such as a virus scanner. Close the program or wait so he could complete its operation, then open Windows Mail again. • Windows Live Mail could not be started. 0 x 80041161. question of server 2008 in Vista (similar OS) forum

Can't solve this one.  8 user accounts on Server 2008 std 64 bit TS, using the Protocol of the DRC. Load Windows Live, composing Mail only for all users. Properly configured the e-mail accounts for all users except one.  On this account while trying to open the Live Mail, we get:

"Windows Live Mail could not be started.  It cannot be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you're not out of memory. 0 x 80041161."

All accounts connect via thin clients with user, no HD local licenses. How it is possible for a single user? How to remove all traces of this user's e-mail account and try again? 7 other user accounts were active mail.  A possible cause would be my use of a registry cleaner (perhaps not a good idea because it was not necessary for a specific reason).  Otherwise, nothing unusual, all other services Terminal Server and programs work.  Impossible to find a link to how to erase our all that is giving only this user account for Live Mail error message.  Tried to take Windows Live and not reinstalled, pass.  All users have standard access, raise that this user admin didn't change error.  Appreciate the ideas.

The new hard drive is using large areas, who do not recognize the databases used by Windows Live Mail, Windows Search, Windows Update and Event Viewer - to name a few. You may be able to correct the flaw of uninstallation or reinstallation of any manager of storage you have. HP computers come with an Intel Storage Manager, for example. Windows Live Mail does not open. Contacted the help people who told me to uninstall Windows Live and start over, but my computer won't uninstall it? Back to the use of Windows Mail, but now some of my emails are not received by some of their recipients even if they seem to send and there is no error message. It is not a server problem, as everything goes through, if I send directly from their site. Help please.

  • Windows Live Mail does not present as an option for default programs or in the Start Menu.

Something happened this week. I can't identify enough exactly when so I can't say with certainty whether or not it is the new update of 2011.

I use Windows Live Mail (desktop application) for the mail. It is installed and since I built the machine first. I've recently updated for 2011 through Windows Update. In the Start Menu, the default e-mail link no longer works. If I go to customize, I have the options of Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, and Outlook. If I select Windows Live Mail, it launches a web browser to go to live.com and use Hotmail (which I don't use).

Now, if I choose Windows Mail, and then re - open Windows Live Mail manually, I can set it by default. In this case, when I go back into the Start Menu, the link is there but empty and you get a message that "the selected item is not available. It might have been moved, renamed, or deleted. You want to remove from the list? "I can't get around that. Under "Default programs" in the Control Panel, Windows Live Mail is not yet there. It's as if she is not yet installed, and whatever the shortcut points to (wherever it may be) is apparently nothing. In the registry, under HKLM/Software/customers/Mail, there is no key for 'DLLPath' and "LocalizedString" as there are other programs.

I must point out that repair installation does not help and neither does file and reinstalling.

I managed to solve the problem.  I received an email from another user and I'm sorry to say, I do not remember what were the instructions in the email.  The answer to (y) our problem used to exist on the web, until Microsoft has removed the old answers live site, or something like that.

IIRC, I believe that it was fixing the misdirected registry keys.

  • Windows Live Mail does not open. Immediately said 'Windows Live Mail has stopped working' no error code.

original title: Live Mail does not open

Not everything goes very well for months in fact no problem since I installed that, then all of a sudden Windows Live mail does not open. He's trying, 'Start-up', but then a box will appear which says "Windows Live Mail has stopped working" and then goes on to say that we are looking for a solution, nothing. "A problem with the program to open correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"then nothing. No code, no help, zero.

  • After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

For a successful export, follow these directions:

    1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
    2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
    3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
    4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
    5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

    * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
    * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.
