Windows Live Mail keeps asking for password
I have Windows 7 and LiveMail 2011. My email was working fine this morning and now all of a sudden it kept asking for my password. I contacted Verizon. I changed the password and it works very well on Verizon webmail, but I can not yet send email from LiveMail.
Here's what he said:
The connection to the server has failed.
Subject 'test '.
Server: 'smtp.verizon.net '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Secure (SSL): Yes
Socket error: 10060
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
After the case with three officers and deal with 6 hours, the last officer concluded that the problem was on THEIR side! Turns out that I could not yet send an email from Verizon webmail either.
I don't know what they were doing on their side, but I can finally send emails!
Mail keeps asking for my password since download el capitan. I have not changed the password and it is not a gmail account. I have not installed iCloud. Someone at - it ideas?
Please mention what password.
My iMac mail keeps asking for the password for one of my email addresses.
The address is... @hotmail.co.uk, when I enter the password it doesn't recognize it and declare it invalid.
Moments later, the mail is delivered.
A month ago I had the same problem which at any mail arriving. I tried many things and finally put in place a new internet/mail account in preferences. So, after having removed the old settings and reinsert the it worked, until today.
I have 2 other addresses of e-mail which are not affected by this bug.
This happened only since I changed to El Capitan.
Your email provider may reject your password for several reasons, including:
- You do not use your current e-mail password. If you updated the password on another device, make sure you use the same password on this device.
- Your email provider needs you to update or reset your password for security reasons. For example, if you have turned on googles two step of checking your Gmail account in Mail now requires the appropriate password app.
- Your disabled email provider or suspension of your account. Your provider of e-mail for help.
I have an iPhone 7 and an Air 2 iPad with iOS 10. I have a set of account Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook on both. The two will ask randomly I get my password for the accounts. Passwords are there and are correct. I click Cancel on the message and accounts still work (that can saved / receive messages). I've never had this problem on my iPad until I updated to iOS 10. Does anyone else have this problem?
Yes, I am facing the same problem with the iphone on ios 10 6. The phone keeps asking passwords for email update, but I click on 'Cancel' and the email still works. Hope that they will take care of their next update
That makes me MAD! Windows Mail - checking the user name and password &!It makes me crazy.
For the last few days my Windows Mail keeps asking for my username and password and even if they are correct it still doesn't and comes repeatedly asks me for the info again and again. I deleted the account mail twice now and re added it but it still does not work. I can send emails but not receive. I have McAfee but I aiinstalle only this yesterday so that isn't the problem. the error message is:-
Account: 'mail.talktalk.net', server: 'mail.talktalk.net', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR Authentication failed.', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92
Please help I need to retrieve my emails! Thanks, Sarah
McAfee is a huge problem with Windows Mail. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 if you want to use, wait until you get the job of Winmail.
Check if you can connect webmail and that works very well and it's not a problem on the end of the server messaging or because of misspelled powers. Then delete your account in WinMail, compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and make sure that you have disabled the e-mail analysis then add your account to mail back again and see if it works.
Windows live mail keeps freezing. When I open the task manager a notice telling me it does not. This happens whenever I read the mail and may occur several times during each session. I sometimes close direct mail and reopen it to solve the problem. Any ideas?
Post Windows Live questions in the appropriate forum found here:
my windows mail keeps asking for a user name and password. I am entering these two and it still will not allow me on the program. I tried to delete the account and start again, he still asks for the user and the password. any suggestions?
It gives me the error 0x800CCC90 codes, 0x800CCC91 and 0x800CCC92 he also says the username/password invalid nameHave you taken all the measures that I suggested above?McAfee antivirus is among the three troublemakers albums for Windows Mail.It sometimes takes a while before the symptoms begin to appear.First of all, turn off e-mail McAfee analysis, even if it is rarely sufficient. Then delete that email account (because it has been damaged by McAfee),.Restart Windows Mail, and then recreate the account. If the problem persists, the only way you can prove or disprove thatMcAfee is the culprit is to uninstall it, and then using their debris removal tool:If you decide to replace McAfee, we recommend a free antivirusthe program that is no longer compatible with Windows Mail.Rather than move to another antivirus, another option is to upgradefor Windows Live Mail (WLM), which better resists the harmful effectstoo intrusive anti-virus products:Even with WLM, you must turn off email scanning in the antivirus, for the reasons explained here:Gary van, Microsoft MVP (Mail)"ddavid01" wrote in the new message: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy... *Thanks I have macafee. Windows Live Mail (Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) with Windows 7 Professional SP1) is once more throw up repeated requests for user name and password for my btinternet account. I have not changed my password for this account and you can always use it to access my BT Yahoo mail online.
I tried to go into the details of this account in Windows Live Mail, but it has not solved the problem.
I repeatedly get the error message is:
Can't send or receive messages for the Btinternet account (a.skrimshire123). An incorrect password was entered. The next time that you send or receive messages, you will be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.
Server error: 0x800CCC90
Server response:-ERR [AUTH] (#MBR1236)
Server: 'mail.btinternet.com '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC92
Secure (SSL): No.
Thank you very much for the quick response! but in fact, after my simply going back to try again the problem seems to have resolved itself, without apparent reason, and send/receive in Live Mail now works perfectly! So I suspect rather a glitch of BT - they seem to have them at the moment, perhaps due to the passage above BT-Yahoo mail BT pending
However, I bookmarked these links for the future, because they could be very useful as the switch to BT on the product - even if your second link, following the plu "Configuring email BT on an e-mail client" link and enter my email as requested on the 'Help with your email' page, I found that my address @btinternet.com has been rejected twice as not being not not a BT address! So I think it's quite revealing of BT State efficiency for the moment...
Anyway thanks a lot for your answer.

When I open Windows Live Mail a pop up appears asking me to sign in to Windows Live Mail. I don't want to do and would like to stop the appearance of the application. I'm perfectly happy using Live Mail for my mail, but don't want or don't need any interaction with other Windows Live services. How can I stop this request appearing as it's quite boring?
To use Windows Live Mail and this Web site, you need a Windows Live ID, and looking for the password ID to get your email address. The information and click "save my password". You can remove an account, if you do not want to get the emails of her by clicking on the blue box which opens a few choices. Choose options > accounts, find the account and delete it. Use another program such as Mozilla Thunderbird and set up accounts if you want Live Mail does not support the account you want to use.
I hope this helps!
I use Windows Live Mail along with Windows 7. I use it to check my email on GMail. The original email with GMail address was changed to another email address. (I deleted the one with GMail). I changed the properties of the e-mail account so that it matches the properties of the new email address. (This includes address and password and user name) I made the changes and click on the apply"" button. However, the changes you don't want to go back to the old account after I turned the computer off, then back on, or even if I use the computer for a period of time and try to check e-mail after this period. What is the solution to this so that the changes are permanent and do not change?
Do you have any programs running that could prevent unexpected changes taking place? This includes any sort on security or program claiming to carry out the system of care.
Windows Live Mail is set to work offline, and then move all messages in folders account to records created by the user in the storage files. When you do not know that there are no messages in folders under the account you want to keep, right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select delete account.
Close Windows Live Mail and wait a few minutes while the program does its household index messages that you just moved. Open the task (Ctrl-Shift-Escape) Manager and wait for wlmail.exe no longer appears in the list under the processes tab.
Restart Windows Live Mail and verify that you always work offline (the button on the home Ribbon tab should read online). Press Ctrl-Shift-T to start the Add your e-mail accounts Wizard and add the account back again. To be on the safe side, before you go online for the test account, right click on its name in the folders pane, and then select Properties. Give it a different name that you just removed.
Go online and if necessary, click send/receive to begin a download. If you used the default settings, the account records must be downloaded and finally filled with the messages on the server.
Windows turn officially this week.
Sometimes, Windows Live Mail does NOT accept my password. And I know it's good.
Sometimes, it works. When it doesn't, I have to drop what I'm doing and re-book my computer to make it work.

I had this problem since upgrading to iOS iOS 10 9. I have 3 accounts hotmail on the iphone, once I get the password it will work properly for a period of time (usually one day) and then ask for passwords with a message indicating an error has occurred and iOS needs approval from hotmail again.
I noticed that this often happens when I wake up in the morning and I haven't used the iPhone for a few hours. This problem never arose on iOS 9. I've recently updated the iPhone 6 7 and the problem persists.
Is this a bug of iOS 10? I also tried to delete all my accounts and adding them again without success. My accounts do not use a two-step verification.
I am currently using iOS on iPhone 10.0.2 7
Hotmail is notoriously buggy. For years. Have you tried their forum for iOS 10 compatibility issues? There may be suggestions from there.
