Windows Live Mail - unexpected errors

My installation of Windows Live Mail has at least several messages in its list (as in the Inbox and another folder, I checked) that aren't really there.  They are not in the data store, when I try to view or to delete them I get an "unknown error".   (I forgot the exact error, but I don't want to risk an accident if it occurs.)

I can say Windows Live Mail to recreate its views based on what is really in the files?  Where is it?

The program hangs when it tries to compress the files (likely because he hit the messages that do not really exist), who usually finds himself now completely destroy my current accounts and leave him with only one or two things, almost like a basic installation.

It's very annoying.

  • Windows live mail send error "the server does not support an SSL connection. Server error 250.

Original title: Windows live mail error send

Cannot send mail to Windows Live Mail.  Error message... The server does not support an SSL connection. Server error 250. Server - * address email is removed from the privacy *. Windows Live Mail error ID - 0x800CCC7D. SMTP Protocol.  Port 25.

It's better, thank you. This message is not from the BT Server; It comes from your Avast antivirus which is intercepting your mail. You would be well advised to turn off the Avast Mail shield; It does not add any additional security if you don't by attention elsewhere, and can cause problems.

I see that it is the record of mail in bulk that because of the problems in this case. Connect to the Web e-mail account and clear the items junk and deleted records.

BT is recommended to use SSL, but your original question indicated that SSL was not taken in charge for SMTP on port 25. I think we'd better go on all your settings. Recommendations of BT are on this page: BT email: what are the settings for outgoing and incoming mail servers?, but they only work if you disable Avast scanning mail.

Right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties.

    • Under the servers tab, make sure that my server requires authentication is selected.
Select connect with authentication in clear text.
    • On the Advanced tab, select this server requires a secure connection (SSL) for both servers.
Make sure that the incoming (IMAP) port is 993 and port for outgoing (SMTP) is 465.

When you've made all these changes, close Windows Live mail and wait five minutes for the program do its cleaning and save the modified settings. Then, restart the computer and make sure that the Mail of Avast shield is always off.

Launch Windows Live Mail, then dial a new test message and send it to yourself. Post a new message in your response.

  • Windows Live Mail 2011 error message

Whenever I try to send an email from my computer at home I get this error message: the message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was ' * address email is removed from the privacy *'.

Subject ' Emailing: received payment of personal and real property taxes 2015 paid online December 31'

Server response: 501 5.5.2 MAIL FROM syntax error
    Server: 'mail.so.centurytel.net '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC78
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25
    Secure (SSL): No.

I can receive messages without problem.  I also sent messages to my Iphone using this email address.  My husband and I use the same server, and there is no problem in sending messages to his computer.  This happened about a year.  I did not more changes to my computer right there.  He simply stopped to let me send messages.  Any advice on how to fix it?

Given that the server who complains is your centurytel.net you need to communicate with them.  We would have no idea of what are their parameters.  There may be a problem with WLM settings, but still, we do not know what they use.

  • Problems of emails, download Windows Live Mail 0x800CCC0F error code.

Out of the blue I started having problems with downloading emails over and over again. At the end of each download I get the following error message...

Unable to send or receive messages for the steven - BT Yahoo! Mail account. Your server suddenly put an end to the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

    Server: 'mail.btinternet.com '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0F
    Protocol: POP3
    Port: 110
    Secure (SSL): No.

I use Windows Live mail to access an account of talktalk and a BT Yahoo. On behalf of Talktalk is not affected, it is BT's Yahoo account which is corrupt.
I had this configuration for several years with no problems.
    Thank you.

I don't think that the download is finished.

    1. Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program.
    2. Uncheck the option to check for messages every X minutes.

See if the download is finished now. If this is the case, leave analysis off e-mails, but check again the other option. If you still have questions, ask the experts here. More in this forum which I belong do not use Windows Live Mail.

One of the internet labels: do not compose the message in capital letters to entirely. It is considered as shouting and rude. It is also, may be not for you, very difficult to read.

The connection to the server has been abandoned by the software on your computer. If you had given the full error message, we have been able to make suggestions. You can click on an error message to select it, and then use a right click to copy and paste it in your response here.

The drafts folder contains only the messages that you are not yet ready to send. Messages that cannot be sent - for example due to an error like the one you cited - will be in the Outbox in the folders for your account in the folders pane.
