Windows Live messenger 2011 does not not after starting the program
Yesterday I upgaded to Windows live essentials 2011. Since then, every time I start messenger, it me signed to and then remained "is not responding.
I have Windows 7 pro 64-bit system.
Although I unchecked him "automatically detect connection settings" & checked the "Use Software Rendering instead of GPU Rendering" checkbox and then restarted Internet Explorer and I used GPU for energy rather than high-performance GPU, Windows Live Messenger 2011 is unresponsive after starting.
If I check or not to check the box 'Use Software Rendering instead of GPU Rendering', and I use the GPU performance, Windows Live Messenger 2011 works OK then.
I also use Windows 7 64 bit system with HD display and switchable graphics configuration.
To choose the GPU performance:
1. right click on your desktop.
2. choose "configure Switchable Graphics":

3. choose ' GPU performance.

4. sign in to Windows Live Messenger 2011.

Photos in Windows Live Photo Gallery does not?
I use the photo gallery Windows for years. When I updated to Windows 7 recently, I upgraded to Windows Live Photo Gallery and everything has been fine until recently - all of a sudden, when I open it, there are a ton of pictures that don't charge - they are solid gray rectabgles or rectangle of generic icon 'island '. When I double click on it, my image opens, but I have to be able to see all my photos in the Gallery - is - anyone know why this is happening?
Hi Tatifl,(a) don't you make changes to your computer before the onset of the problem?
(b) what kind of image files you are trying to open?
(c) that you get the error messages?
(d) what is the size of the file you are viewing?Put the computer in a clean boot State and check if the problem persists.Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.b. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.c. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)d. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.e. click OK and then click on restart.Note: Reset the computer to start as usualWhen you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.b. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart. How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows 7/VistaFor Windows Live Photo Gallery, visit the following link and follow the steps mentioned in the link for Windows Vista.Windows Live Photo Gallery is not responding or does not startIf this is not enough for Windows Live Photo Gallery, contact Windows Live forums to get help by visiting the following link:Aziz Nadeem - Microsoft Support -
I tried to download windows live messenger after a new new copy of windows xp.
I received the following error message (wlsetup is not a valid win32 application), I realized the the version I'm trying to install is only supported by windows 7 or windows vista. So I tried to download windows live install for xp, but I received the following error message (use windows update to download the latest version of windows install, then try again.) Your version of windows install is obsolete. MSI audit: 0 x 80280002). Now I'm stuck!
I couldn't find a soluton in the forums of Windows live.
Any help would be appreciated.Windows install is what is used to install programs. Have you checked if there is an update as they said and you have the latest Service Pack?
You can answer these questions then try this:
1. go to this site - http://ninite.com/
2. scroll down a bit to mail and put a check mark on Messenger (2009).
3. scroll to the bottom of the page, and then click Get Installer.
4 run. -
I'm having a problem with Windows Live Messenger. Can I have my status available but I appear offline to my contacts. Can someone tell me what it is? If I check the status of the connection under tools it says: you are directly connected to .NET Messenger Service. You are connected to the Internet through a NAT symmetrical non-UPnP (Administrator). If I test my connection it says everything is fine.

Just to understand it
I had to change smapi.dll
Current version on the computer: 15.4.3538.513
I searched the Internet and found an another smapi.dll versioned 14.0.8117.416
Replaced original smapi.dll in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Windows Live\Mail\ and everything started working. not sure if this is a bug in the most recent version of the dll, but it works with the older ones.
Hope that will help someone.

Any help you guys can provide would be appreciated, I'm running out of ideas and need to get this work thanks again for your help.
