  Hi, I recently moved from my trusty XP to a new with Windows 7. I used to regularly use the Windows Live OneCare safety scanner - usually just clean - especially to clean the registry. I used to find after receiving updates Microsoft, the registry needs to be cleaned. I would like to do similar now. The first time I tried it, it worked well and took me to the site for Vista & Win 7 whereonly a complete analysis is available. I went with this and ensure that enough werer there are 100 registry errors to be fixed. Since then, I've been unable to use it. A message appears on the bottom of my screen saying. When I click on the button to install the scanner, wait please sign lights up a message appears saying "Internet Explorer blocked a control Active X, so this page will not display correctly." Then blue, he says "what is the risk. There is not the possibility to allow the Active X control. We once I went into Windows and the security option and clicked on each ActiveX little to ask. At that time, he was installing the scanner. However, when I clicked on that he returned to tell the scanner to install. It seemed to go into a loop.  Can someone help me on how to solve this problem?

  In fact I got it to work this morning. It reported record 119 errors and corrects all but 15. What I had to do, was to go to Internet Options, Security, which, down to amd 0 also unchecked ProtectedZone. The scanner then ran successfully.

• What happened to Windows Live Clean Up scan (registry cleaner)? It was very useful (for me at least)

  This registry cleaner from Microsoft has been the only tool that I could trust because most of the time (unlike other cleaning products), he finds entries that were truly wrong.   I have a Windows Live account and I have created several others to implement parental controls of Windows, but I could not.  With all the accounts that I created, I continue to encounter one or two messages error with or the other account.  It is said that "this service is not available at this time" and other States that the account is not registered as a Parent.  I read the comments to discussion threads where advice is given on how to fix known issues associated with these error messages, and none of them work for me.  When I connect to Windows Live with an account, any account, they look alike, and it is never an option to add a child with the exception of the link subsumed under permissions.  When I click permissions and click to add an account, all that I see is the ability to add social media accounts in my Windows Live account.  I tried almost every permutation I can think to solve this problem.  Provide advice.  Thank you.

  One possible way to solve this problem is to refresh the web filtering settings for your child by turning and then by following the steps below:

  1. connect to https://fss.live.com using your Parent account.
  2. click on change settings under the user name of your child.
  3. request for Web filtering, check the Disable web content filtering , and then Save.
  4 tick to enable web filtering you can adjust the slider to different settings.
  5. Save.

  After completing the steps above, remember to refresh the client of parental control to update changes made via the Family Safety website. To update the client, click the icon with the 2 arrows found in the upper right.

  In addition, if you use select custom to allow and block Web site category please make sure that the domain of the Web site is included (.com, .net, or .org). Let us know what happens then.

  Thanks for posting your request. I understand that you want to uninstall your parental control without affecting other programs Windows Essentials. You can do this by following these:

  1. press Windows + R, which came AppWiz.cpl, and then click OK.

  2. Select Windows Essentials 2012/Windows Live Essentials, click Uninstall/change - or - delete.

  3. click on remove one or more Windows Essentials programs.

  4. check the security for the family.

  5. click on uninstall.

  I'm trying to uninstall Windows Live Family Safety because it causes problems with Internet Explorer freezing whenever I try to use the icon tools or try to open a new tab.  Various positions said it was a problem with the parental control, because the errors are display in the log of events from my computer.   The latest version of family safety 2012 (Build 16.4.3503.728) is now available for Windows 7. With the latest version of your child will ask you twice; first 15 minutes before curfew and another is 1 minute before to be disconnected. This will give him enough time to do the stuffs that he/she must do before having disconnected. The warning will appear in the part where the parental control system tray icon.

  Very important note: Once you install family safety 2012, other Microsoft Essentials programs will be updated for 2012 and will replace Windows Live Mesh with SkyDrive.

  If you want to keep Windows Live Mesh, you can choose to use this version of work of Windows Live Essentials 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308). The curfew works the same way as the 2012 version that invites the child before being disconnected. In addition, before the update to 2012, if you are a frequent user of Movie Maker, make sure you meet the requirements to avoid any problems when you run the version of Movie Maker 2012.

  Family safety has made recent changes to its functions and functionlity. The latest version of the parental control now uses the standard user accounts (logon Windows) as a child in the safety of the family. To learn more about the changes in the management of Contact, please see the link below:

  If you have already created a standard user and you want to manage under parental control, then follow these steps:

  1. run the parental control on a Windows account with administrator privileges. If this is your first time running the parental control, you need to sign in using your Microsoft Account.

  2. after login, select the standard Windows account that you want to monitor as a child by checking the box to the right of the name of the account, and then click Next after.

  3 on the right, you will see members parental control with a list of drop down option. Click the menu drop-down, and then select Add standard account name.

  4. click on record. Wait until the installation is done.

  5. Once done, you should see the name of the account under Windows monitored accounts.
