Windows live sign security for family problems

Today, I installed Windows Live parental controls on my Windows 7 computer.  Whenever I tried to connect I not was able to do. I tried connecting to my "Hotmail" account and was able to do it without any difficulty. Whenever I am try to connect, I get this error message. "We cannot connect because the network is not available. Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet and try again. "It also gives the error code is

80048848. I checked several times and I'm definitely connected to the internet. Someone please help with this?

Hi MaryBright,

Thanks for posting. I understand that you are having problems with parental controls. I want to clarify if the error you receive is through the Family Safety Web site or in the client of parental control. If the Web site, have you tried using another browser or computer? In the case on the client, I would like to fix parental control as an initial diagnosis. Here's how:

1. press Windows + R, type AppWiz.cpl, and click OK.

2. Select Windows Essentials 2012/Windows Live Essentials, click Uninstall/change.

3. click on fix all Windows Essentials programs.

We will wait for your answer.

Kind regards

Richard

I received numerous emails saying that they come from Windows Live Hotmail, asking for personal information, including my password, date of birth, etc. The messages say that they update of files and I need to send this information, or my account or my account will be deleted. Do you really send these emails, or is this some kind of scam? Computer experts I spoke say that these messages would be never sent any reliable organization and will never respond to these requests for information. What do you know about this?

    Hi SharonMiller,

They would never ask you for your personal information, so you can assume that it is a scam. Please see do fall not into fake support.

  • How can I remove the Windows Live Sign In requirement for my windows live mail?

Something changed in my installation of Windows Vista HP and I am now faced with a sign to connect to Windows Live 'request' every time I try to access my windows live mail.  (From the desktop icon).  I can click on through that connection and I will be headed to my live mail account (without entering any information of personal password) so I have no idea what use this sign is actually - but it's PRETTY! boring.  All he seems to do is add more clicks for me to be able to do what I had previously been able to.   BING was not very helpful to help me find a way to turn off this annoying 'feature'.   I tried to use the program on Windows Essentials items removal (all except the direct mail) but this did not help.  Where can I fo to disable this pop-up window?  (And of course, I don't want to lose my current e-mail settings or messages!)

The sign is in Windows Live (contacts, calendar, photo upload) services.
Contacts and calendar will be synchronized with the calendar and the active contacts.  When
do not sign, stored locally, calendar and contacts not synchronized will be
    used.
In 2009 WLMail, Alt + T, Options, connection tab, stop signing in.
WLMail 2011, Alt + F, Options, e-mail, connection tab, stop signing in.

  • Windows Live Safety Scanner for Windows 7 using MS Internet Explorer 9

Hi, I recently moved from my trusty XP to a new with Windows 7. I used to regularly use the Windows Live OneCare safety scanner - usually just clean - especially to clean the registry. I used to find after receiving updates Microsoft, the registry needs to be cleaned. I would like to do similar now. The first time I tried it, it worked well and took me to the site for Vista & Win 7 whereonly a complete analysis is available. I went with this and ensure that enough werer there are 100 registry errors to be fixed. Since then, I've been unable to use it. A message appears on the bottom of my screen saying. When I click on the button to install the scanner, wait please sign lights up a message appears saying "Internet Explorer blocked a control Active X, so this page will not display correctly." Then blue, he says "what is the risk. There is not the possibility to allow the Active X control. We once I went into Windows and the security option and clicked on each ActiveX little to ask. At that time, he was installing the scanner. However, when I clicked on that he returned to tell the scanner to install. It seemed to go into a loop.  Can someone help me on how to solve this problem?

    Hi, I thought to http://onecare.live.com/site/en-gb/default.htm?keyword=scannerhome

In fact I got it to work this morning. It reported record 119 errors and corrects all but 15. What I had to do, was to go to Internet Options, Security, which, down to amd 0 also unchecked ProtectedZone. The scanner then ran successfully.

Thanks for your help. Resolved question.
