Windows Mail keeps asking for a password

I tried to adjust my Windows mail to allow me to send emails from my work laptop at home, since the modification of the settings Windows Mail won't get new emails or send emails without password. None of my passwords are allowed. This is the error no:

Account: 'pop.oneandone.co.uk', server: 'pop.oneandone.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR failed authentication ', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

Any suggestions please? /

Hello Awel,

What Anti Virus client do you use? You have analysis emails incoming and outgoing option set? If so, then change your options do not scan and see if that makes a difference.

Please answer back with an update so that we know if your problem is resolved or if you still need help.

Sincerely,

McAfee is a huge problem with Windows Mail.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 if you want to use, wait until you get the job of Winmail.

Check if you can connect webmail and that works very well and it's not a problem on the end of the server messaging or because of misspelled powers.  Then delete your account in WinMail, compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and make sure that you have disabled the e-mail analysis then add your account to mail back again and see if it works.

  • Windows security keeps asking for network password.

I have a seagate nas110 external Hardrive connected to my computer. Whenever I have try and access the files it contains, a box pops up saying Windows Security and ask for a username and password. I do not have these, I don't think that I've never implemented in this way. How can I disable this? Or what can I do to change the information.

    Hi BRDave,

    1. you are the administrator of the computer?
    2. This is the dialog box User Account Control (UAC) that invites you to enter the user name and password?
    3. what trust you go?

Try these steps and check the result.
Step 1: Provide access to the disk permissions hard by logging into the user account administrator
    a. Click Start, click computer.
    b. right-click on the drive that refers to the external hard drive, and then click Properties.
    c. click on the Security tab, select Administrator under "user or group names."
    d. under permissions, allow full control and click ok to apply the changes.
    e. open the drive and try to access the files.

Step 2: Change UAC settings and check the result

McAfee antivirus is among the three troublemakers albums for Windows Mail.
It sometimes takes a while before the symptoms begin to appear.
First of all, turn off e-mail McAfee analysis, even if it is rarely sufficient.
Then delete that email account (because it has been damaged by McAfee),.
Restart Windows Mail, and then recreate the account.

If the problem persists, the only way you can prove or disprove that
McAfee is the culprit is to uninstall it, and then using their debris removal tool:
If you decide to replace McAfee, we recommend a free antivirus
the program that is no longer compatible with Windows Mail.

Rather than move to another antivirus, another option is to upgrade
for Windows Live Mail (WLM), which better resists the harmful effects
    too intrusive anti-virus products:

Even with WLM, you must turn off email scanning in the antivirus,
    for the reasons explained here:

  • Windows Mail suddenly asking for the password and then argues that it is incorrect

    Hello.

I have my Microsoft Windows Mail related to my TalkTalk email address, and this has worked well for years. There always was a case of just clicking in the start menu E-mail - login has been automatic. Until a few days ago...

Now, when I click to open Windows Mail, I get a box of security Windows popping up, asking me to "connecting to mail.talktalk.net". I get my user name and password as requested (and which I've confirmed are correct) and login box reappears just - emptied - asking me to repeat the process.

When I cancel the logon box, I get the error: "account: 'mail.talktalk.net', server: 'mail.talktalk.net', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR user name is required ', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC91.

When I continue my Windows Mail, I find that I can send emails, but have not received anything since the beginning of this problem.

Okay, I did a search for this problem, and it seems that although these error codes have something to do with my user name and password is not wrong. I checked all that, however, (Tools > accounts > properties > servers) and all the details seem correct and unchanged.

I tried to connect to my e-mail account on the TalkTalk site, and it works very well - and confirms that I received emails in the last days. Try to do it via Windows Mail fair results in this area of connection from upward (she didn't use to) and he accepts not not my correct coordinates.

    Help please!

    Hmmm!

I have a talktalk email account which has fallen into disuse, so I could do some tests.

I can connect to the webmail of TalkTalk OK so I don't know the email address and password.

I have configured Windows Mail with the correct information as stipulated on their help pages and get (almost) the same error as you, the only difference being the final code, which for me is20x800CCC9, so maybe you did a "typo"?

I just watched the service status page...

    http://www.TalkTalk.co.uk/service-status/

.. .and I see this open question...

28/05/2013 10:35 Open - Some clients may be unable to send and receive emails through email clients. E-mail is affected. Our engineers are aware of the problem and are currently studying Current

So maybe you just need to sit still and look at the status page?

    Hello

I am happy that it works.

It is perhaps that this has nothing to do with your system, but a 'problem' in the e-mail server of the provider.

Your email provider may reject your password for several reasons, including:

    • You do not use your current e-mail password. If you updated the password on another device, make sure you use the same password on this device.
    • Your email provider needs you to update or reset your password for security reasons. For example, if you have turned on googles two step of checking your Gmail account in Mail now requires the appropriate password app.
    • Your disabled email provider or suspension of your account. Your provider of e-mail for help.

I have Windows 7 and LiveMail 2011.   My email was working fine this morning and now all of a sudden it kept asking for my password. I contacted Verizon. I changed the password and it works very well on Verizon webmail, but I can not yet send email from LiveMail.

    Here's what he said:
The connection to the server has failed.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you.
