Whenever I use my computer, the Windows Media Center screen opens constantly throughout any program, how can I stop this? I have istsalled game AllShare on my mobile device and the computer. It seems that I started having these problems at the same time, I installed it, but I could be wrong, because I was working on several things. Help, please!
you say that when you open any program, Media Center opens instead OR areyou say you can open programs, but Media Center appears in theseprograms. These are two different issues. Videos that previously played by Windows Media Center (which came installed on my laptop) suddenly stopped appearing in Windows Media Center records, although some videos (very few) are always show and play exact same files on my hard drive as videos which stopped working.
I don't know that I did something to cause this, although maybe I did, inadvertently, or certain updates or new facilities caused program.
Please help, I use Windows Media Center as my main videos media player. Windows Media Center is not connected to a TV, just use it as a media player on my laptop.
He also noted - I recently moved several files from my hard drive to an external drive, if it will be of any significance.
Thank you.
you go into media center tasks and add new locations tostorage/libraries? some external drives can be a problem, too.best bet is a system restore. You can CANCEL a system restore if it does not work.BarbMVP - Windows/entertainment and connected homePlease mark as answer if that answers your question -
Windows Media Center can't find DVD disc when inserted.

Media Center can't find DVD disc when inserted
shows driver to be good and up-to-date
Play any CD or DVD or recognized by the system?
DVD players are a common failure point in computers.
If yours is a desktop PC:
A replacement can be purchased for about $20 and is easy to install. Remove all power. Button Hold ON in during 7 seconds. Open the case. 2 screws hold the disc instead of delete, then remove the two wires from the back. Make slide the other in its place and reverse the procedure.
If yours is the laptop:
It is part of the OEM. Therefore, it is much more expensive. Probably in the vicinity of $100. You can instead buy an external DVD drive for about $25, which is connected by USB. It has the advantage of being portable and universally adaptable to any other PC.

Why windows media Center can't find my music files?
All my music is stored on a drive separate expansion and Windows Media Center has this drive configured as the search for the music folder but it is not picking up all the tracks in folders. EG - on a single CD folder it shows only 3 of 14 titles available. I tried to re - select the folder of extensible file again, but it still captures all the tracks?
Hi SandraRatcliffe,
(1) since when are you facing this problem?
(2) remember to make changes?
I suggest you to remove the Windows Media Center data store. To do this, follow the steps mentioned below
(a) exit any running instance of Windows Media Center.
(b) delete the file from media Center DataStore.db. By default, this file is located in the following location:
(c) %SYSTEMDRIVE%\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mediaCenterDataStore.db
To remove the file, follow these steps:
(d) click on start, then run.
(e) in the Open box, type run and then click OK
(f) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
(g) in the Open box, type % systemdrive%\programdata\microsoft\ehome, and then click OK.
(h) in the Details pane, right-click media center datastore.db and then click on remove.
(i) click Yes to confirm that you want to move the Mediacenterdatastore.db file to the trash.
(j) to start Windows Media Center, and then check.

Windows Media Center problem of input S-video
I have a HP m9350f running Vista 64-bit Home Premium. It has a Hauppauge HVR-1800 TV tuner inside. This card features a remote control with IR receiver is highlighted at the front of the minitower chassis. The tuner and remote work fine through WMC with a 'digital antenna "as the source of signal to the card.
However, I'm trying to set up WMC also accept a S-video (or composite video) and audio of a combo Samsung DVD/VCR, VR-357. WMC hesitate to second source because it can't find/see "IR control cable" on the remote control, so I can never finish the implementation.
I've seen some old posts that address this problem, but nothing that seems to apply to the HVR-1800. What is someone is aware of all hotfixes to WMC or some other workaround for this stumbling block "IR control cable"?
The VR-357 has no RF output, so I can not simply designate as an "analog" with just the Ch antenna 3/4. My next step is to go buy an old VCR to get Ch 3/4 output and this source from the TV card as an analog antenna, but that seems to be crazy having something to do with all this modern equipment!
Thanks in advance to anyone who has nothing to offer.

Windows Media Center can't find digital signals
Why microsoft is located on their products
I have the media center of vista and I can not get digital signal; I searched for 3 hours trying to find updates or what ever may help and what I find is a stupid idea and eventually find a Ko but it is not for my product!
Microsoft then why no update for media center don't why no help substantal for media center. Why do you persist in telling lies on the products (vista, media center) when they just are garbage?
I have the media center of vista and I can not get digital signal...
I don't know if this reflects the problems you are having, but I had a similar problem with Windows 7 Media Center and my Tuner of TV Hauppauge WinTV HVR950Q. I know that I have entered digital HD but Media Center it would not recognize despite repeated attempts and various configuration changes. Finally, in total exasperation I changed my position of my real Canadian position at one South of the 49th parallel (e.g. American). My digital signal was instantly recognized within the TV configuration.Someone needs to inform Microsoft that the Canada in digital TV effect and actually had digital broadcast metropolitan centres required by law since August 31, 2011. Maybe the program should be renamed media library.

Windows Media Center will not play my video/DVD
I tried to play a video/DVD on my laptop and got this error:
"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.
I went to the Device Manager in the control panel and everything was listed as up-to-date and working properly. What should I do?
Hello
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Answers.
It is obvious that the DVD is protected against copying. Therefore, you cannot copy the contents of the disc. But to read the DVD, you need a suitable decoder. If it is missing/corrupt/out of date, you may need to install the most recent.
Have you installed the readers of third party DVD like PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc.. ? If so, it should work.

You can try to change the setup of a transmission antenna and then follow the instructions on the link given by Cody to add the string (if she is not found automatically).
