Hi herbyderbydo,
1A what difficulties have you tried Microsoft?
2. does come with any specific channel?
This problem occurs if the process of updating Windows Media Center (Mcupdate.exe) cannot access the Windows Media Center data store.
You'll need to rebuild the Windows media center data store and check if it works.
Run the tool fixit here automatically to rebuild the data store.
You can also try manually as follows:
1. |
Exit any running instance of Windows Media Center. |
||||||||||
2. |
Delete the file mediaCenterDataStore.db. By default, this file is located in the following location: %SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mediaCenterDataStore.DB To remove the file, follow these steps:
|
||||||||||
3. |
Start Windows Media Center. If the previous step fails, check the event viewer to determine the cause of the problem and post here What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer) http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer Let us plug in which is also used by the channel causing the media center stopped by right clicking on the channel. |
I hope this helps!

Hey
bellais
Run the sfc/scannow command.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions
If that does not fix it repost in the Sub forum

Windows Media Player has stopped working, as well as the sharing of multimedia files
My husband told me that he has always had difficulty to play the DVD on WMP. I discovered that it would not play because there was a problem with the audio. I couldn't find the solution to this problem. However, we were able to play, burn and rip CDs until what we downloaded Windows SP2 for Vista Home Basic (32 bit), two days ago. Since then, we have not been able to open the app, and the WMP network sharing Service. I tried to run the Setup program, but it is said that there is a newer version of WMP and it will not replace or repair. I wanted to see if I could find a solution to this problem without having to resort to reinstalling Vista or restore to an earlier point. I also noticed that when the WMP application has been updated July 15 to the new version below, there were times this video Web sites would not play and we would have to restart the computer so that we can read them. You can try the options under the view menu to change the available on the computer visualizations. When you play the files in 'Now Playing mode', make a right click anywhere within the interface on Windows Media player and go to visualization. "Windows Media Player has stopped working" when trying to open Media Player
original title: HELP! WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER HAS STOPPED WORKING
Help! -Whenever I tried to open my Windows media player... I get a message that my Windows media player has stopped working... I think the problem is because I had deleted some videos that were inside the window media player... so, how can I solve this problem? Help, please! THX ~
I also had some success with a similar problem by making a backup of the sub folder, then remove it so that media player re-creates its database
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media PlayerIn particular, when you moved or deleted an item in your library and Media player has not picked up the change and displays an entry of spleen, or a duplicate. -
Hello
I have a XC of Aspire Acer-605, i5 with Windows 8 (bought 4 weeks ago)
When I open Windows Media Player 12, if I play music or not, in less than a minute, a box appears that says:
"Windows Media Player has stopped working: a problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly." Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The only option then is to click on "close the program".
When I try to listen to music on CyberLink Power Media Player 12. I have the pop box saying:
"Play.exe stopped working: Please send us this report to help us solve the problem and improve this software."
The option only two then are "CANCEL" or to type my email and the problem then click on 'send report '. I did the second and nothing heard back.
XBOX media player works, but I don't want to use it.
I already scanned with McFee virus and it found nothing. I recently remove a virus from my computer. The problems may have started after that.
Can you help me to solve my problem?
After days and days of the trial, an online chat with a technician Microsoft (which was useless) I finally found a suggestion that worked... I had to create a new user account with administrative privileges. Media worked perfectly in this new account! I then spent ages downloading the files from my old account before deleting completely. It took a long time and has been a real pain, but at least it works now :-). Good luck to all. I hope this works for you xx

Module of persistence and Windows Media Player has stopped working Vista
I get a message when I reboot the persistence module has stopped working. Windows Media Player has also stopped working.
Hi Greg,.
Since when are you facing this problem?
Method 1: Run the fixit available in the article below
When I try to use Windows Media Player 11, the program does not start, or some UI elements are blank
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/925704Method 2: If a Protection of resources Windows (WRP) file is missing or is damaged, Windows may not behave as expected. Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:
How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Method 3: Select the boot and then check if the problem persists
Follow step 1 in the link below,
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Error: Windows Media Player has stopped working

When I run WMP, it opens and then I get a saying of his stopped working.

The failing application path: C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe
The failed module path: C:\Windows\system32\wmp.dllI uninstalled the multimedia functions (under the contrl Panel > prgrams and features) and reinstalled - no fixed not
I stop Streaming Windows Media Network Service and deleted all the files under the directory of the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media - new player did nothing.
I ran SFC and although he finds something it does not solve the issue.
I am now at a loss for what is the problem. Nothing has changed on my system for ages (beyond the Windows updates) so I think it's a corrupted file, but I do not know now how to solve this problem. Help someone? Books in the library and existing content once but I cannot add new records to the music, photos or film libraries as it says there is a problem.
FYI - using Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit)
I have not ran the regsvr32 cmd as administrator, so no luck there and I do not use WMP plugins of any kind. To be honest, I don't use WMP as the machine is purely a media library if 99% of the time that I can access via the MC7 10 ft UI.
In any case - gave up on it and completely reinstalled from scratch this weekend and its working fine again. I just hope that the problem does not happen.
