Windows Media Center - I get an error message indicating that Windows Media Center will not open
Hello
Quite simply, I get an error message indicating that Windows Media Center will not open. I tried the following: a system restore to a date where library worked with no success. I have run the System File Checker (sfc/runnow} wich ligate without flaws. Finally, I deleted the file mediacenterdatastore which has also no effect. The last thing I want to do is reinstall my operating system, once again, so has anyone out there have any more ways to fix this error... Help! Thanks in advance
Robert,Thanks for reporting the good news. Hello
1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
2. what happens once the computer is restarted, it automatically restarts or are you to force the computer to shut down?
If so, then start the computer in safe mode and disable the option run program at startup.
Method 1: Disable the option run program at startup
a. on the screen start, navigate to tasks, click settings, click general, click Startup and window behavior and then uncheck the Windows Media Center start at Windows startup.
b. click Save to save your changes.

You can also face this problem if your Windows Media Player database is damaged, you can delete the database of Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:
(a) output Windows Media Player.
(b) click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
(c), select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note: you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
(d) restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
If the above does not solve your problem then clear cache of database of Windows Media Player files. To do this, follow these steps:
(a) output Windows Media Player.
(b) click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.
(c) select the folder Media Player and then click on Delete on the file menu.
(d) restart Windows Media Player.
Hope this helps

WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER KEEPS OPENING
Everytime I open my computer keeps opening the WMC. I googled the problem and tried all support responses to this problem. That is to say going in and deselecting WMC started etc.. I also tried to come back in a month to a date before the problem started. He works for the next time I open the computer, but then the next day, back to the opening on its own. I checked and my spyware and security is up to date. Help, please. And please don't give me the same answers I have already tried. Please be precise too. In simple terms.

Windows Media Center not opening
Every time I open Windows Media Center, it says windows checks for a solution for this problem. Then it closes. Media Center does not open.
Hello jodoloy,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.
I uninstall and then reinstall Windows Media Center, to see if that helps to clear all corruption.
Uninstall and reinstall the Windows Media Center:
Step 1.
Uninstalling in Windows Media Center:
1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
3. search for multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Center.
4 restart the computer
Step 2.
Reinstall the Windows Media Center:
1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of Windows Media Center.
4 restart the computer. Now you are able to open Media Center? If this isn't the case, then go to the event viewer and look for the application event log. See if there are errors for Media Center and then then list them here.
Please answer back with an update and let us know the result of your problem.
Sincerely,
Marilyn

Windows Media Center will not record shows?
I just brought a new model of the series Gateway ZRX 6971, with touch screen
I have upgraded to Windows 8 Pro
Get the free download for Windows Media Center
Previously recorded shows that has been saved so I still had Windows 7 has played without problems in Windows 8
However, it won't save poster now because I have "insufficient disk space".
But I have over 900 GB of free space!
I tried to tweak the settings in the settings options and even tried to disable recording of HD!
Still no luck! Help!
See my post "Windows 8 - record TV with Windows Media Center problem"
The answer to my problem is in the penultimate position...
I managed to solve it now by running a recovery job in the computer management application.
In case anyone else has this problem, here's what I did:
1. close Windows Media Center
2. open the computer management application and navigate to the bottom of the tree in the left panel by selecting system tools-> Task Scheduler-> Task Scheduler Library-> Microsoft-> Windows-> Media Center
3. at the top, the central panel find the "MediaCenterRecoveryTask" task, which should have a status of "Ready". Right-click on the task and select run (status changes to "Running")
4 wait for the task to do his stuff (the status does not change) then right click on the task again and select end (State dates back to "Ready")
5. open Windows Media Center, which will realize that there is a problem and that it is necessary to rerun the configuration
After the execution of the task above and completing a successful installer of Windows Media Center, I found I could record once more tv!
Guess I'll never know exactly what was wrong, but I'll settle for having working again!
Hope that works for you

Windows Media Center will not be updated to allow the Blu Ray
Hello
I have an Acer laptop that supports Blu Ray disc, but when I go to play with Windows Media Center there is a pop up that says that "an essential element must be updated", but whenever I click "update", it tells me that my internet connection is not working it may not update. I checked and there is nothing wrong with my internet connection and library still refuses to update. Is there a way to force it to update? Or another program that will support the Blu Ray?Thank youKerrynThere is no native support in Windows for the Blu - Ray, including Media Center. Youneed a third-party Blu Ray player. What Blue Ray software supplied with yourcomputer? It works as a standalone program?BarbMVP - Windows/entertainment and connected homePlease mark as answer if that answers your question -
Windows Media Center will not receive a TV signal
My Windows Media Center worked very well and I was receiving many channels of television to the present. This morning I had to uninstall my 2009 trend micro software and then install the software of micro trend 2010. All this went well and it had no effect on Windows Media Center. I then tried to watch TV and I get an error message saying: TV stations must be offline or check the attenna. I get channels on my regular TV so TV stations broadcast. I disconnected my attenna and plugged into a different attenna. Still nothing. I tried to reconfigure WMC for a tv signal and I get a message saying that nothing can be found. I try manually configure and I get a message saying that a Hauppauge WIN TV 885 is available but is not selected. So I guess there is a problem with the Tuner? Everything worked fine yesterday.
Hi trialbyfire,.
You can read the following article and check if it helps:

Using WMC with antenna and Uverse Internet connection. These days Guide in Windows Media Center has been warning me about the guide with less than 3 days on his calendar. Now I see that the schedule tomorrow. It asks if I want to update the guide, I say OK and it says it is complete, but the guide never gets updated.
