Windows media encoder

Using Windows Media Encoder 9.00.00.2980 on 2002 XP w / SP3.

Problem: Taking WME long (5 minutes or longer) to close after a video is actually taken into account. The nature of what we are filming this makes 5 + minutes of time spent waiting for the program to close a real problem.

If we make a stop in the program (usually by restarting the computer;) Yes, I know, not the best solution) usually, the video is recorded in a visible state, but without the possibility of fast-forward/reverse fast, etc.

If we wait long enough WME WILL stop eventually.  However, as mentioned in waiting isn't always an option.

The suggestions on how someone of either

  • reduce or eliminate the delay after capture by closing
  • Difficulty of the video that have not the ability to FF/RW

Thanks for your suggestions...

It seems that Windows media Encoder and photo IE10 Viewer are the root of the problem, and it is about the whole MS Platform in desktop for what anyone associated media.  As easy as it is to use another browser or image viewer I find I like the windows photo viewer ability to preview multiple images and IE10 and 11 are more now then fix everything that exists.

The issue is having to restart or log out and back in just pass leak VRAM that can go up to 1400 MB and count. What said GPU - Z and ESTR.  The memory of the system seems to be in check most of the time.  Get off my GPU memory Windows.

I mean leak even with the left running only windows desktop and essential tasks to keep it that way.  I have games that will never saturate 1.5 GB of video memory on my setup. • Series of 32-bit update Windows Media Encoder 9 of security for Windows Vista is not installed!

    Hello

Above my security update will not be installed.  It starts to install at the beginning but then it crashes just for hours.  He tried several times but no luck.  I am running Windows Vista and I'm updating all my other updates.

    Any suggestions?

Try to download and install it manually by downloading on your desktop and install it. Insert the number to get the good update and choose the one corresponding to your version of Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Also read and execute the steps ofhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058.

If this does not help, please transfer your question in Forum Windows Update:http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads where updates experts will be happy to help you.  Please post with the information requested here:what to post in the Windows Update forum

  • Qosmio G30-163: encoder Windows media does not recognize video devices

I can't get the Windows media encoder to recognize my video camera connected to the S-video (Qosmio G30-163) port.

I have a similar problem with Web conferencing pro application Marratech (it crashes after 15-20 seconds if I try to use it-during the time the application is inactive - in configuration I see the photo/video test).

If I use InterVideo® WinDVD Creator 2 Platinum software packaged for video capture it works fine.

    Hello

In my opinion there would be something wrong with the compatibility of the MCE and s-video. Have you tried to run the MCE updates?
If the s-video connection works with InterVideo WinDVD Creator, then I guess there is no hardware malfunction (s-video port).

How about the video and the port? Have you checked if it works?
This port allows you to import video data from analog video camera.

I tried to run in compatibility mode for xp sp2

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi DJ_KingSize,

This problem occurs because some legacy applications use files or components that were developed prior to Windows Vista. The names of these audio components may be different in Windows Vista. If the calling application uses the hard-coded file names, the new files and components could not be found.

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods to change the audio settings for a device.

Method 1: Use the order Volume of Windows

To use the Volume of Windows command to change the audio settings for a device, follow these steps:

    1. right click on the speaker in the notification area icon and then click recording devices or reading.

    2. double-click on the device for which you want to adjust the settings. For example, double-click on Microphone.

    3. click on the levels tab.

    4. move the cursor upwards or downwards to set the desired volume level, and then click OK

Method 2: Use the control panel

For control panel allows you to change the audio settings for a device, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click hardware and sound and then click sound.

    2. click on the playback or recording.

    3. double-click on the device for which you want to adjust the settings. For example, double-click on Microphone.

    4. click on the levels tab.

    5. move the cursor upwards or downwards to set the desired volume level, and then click OK.

  • issue tear the player 11 Windows Media - tracks have the end of the previous song.

I seem to have bad ripper CD - when I select all the tracks and then click Start rip. They rip ok and have the correct names etc. However when I play the tracks a few of them have a minutes from the end of the previous track before then playing the song. Its done this to many CD and CD - r, to move I have Ripper each track on a CD individually which is really painful. How can I fix it, thank you.

    Hi HLouise,

What is in my mind is the check-out settings. Make sure you only select the option to 5 seconds between songs.

Alternatively, you can try to reload the encoder from the link below.

You can download the Windows Media Encoder from here:
