Windows media library player completes, but the library is not in the music folder.

When I open Media Player, all my music is available to play.  However, when I open music folder in my documents, the songs do not exist.  Therefore, it is difficult to manage music.  A single note.  I have iTunes on my computer.  The iTunes of the file in the music folder exisits, but only contains about half of the songs.  I wonder if it is corrupt.

  • Drive Windows Media (.wmv file) stored in the Temp folder

When I download a wmv file, I gives me the opportunity to open the file with Windows Media Player or save the file.  Lately, I've been open files in the player, assuming that, once they play, they are stored in my 'Temp' folder and empty when I delete the folder.  I was also unpin the link in the drop down WMP.  So it was quite a surprise when my hard drive available space began to decline at an alarming rate. When I went to my folder 'Users', it was 43GB and the single folder with any real content was music with 17 GB file. Do a search for wmv files have no results, so I can only assume that there are 26 GB of 'Phantom' wmv files take place, but without any specific place in the folder "users". Given that the "Users" folder is recreated at startup, I deleted all the content, the following prompts to keep files essential and lean record for its actual content to 17.5 GB.  Now I just save the file, manage downloads and delete the files when they are needed.  Is this standard protocol used for the Media Player or is it possible to change the settings of the player?  Thanks for the help.

First of all - the C:\Users folder should not be deleted like this - several functions of the operating system back up here and you will cause a corruption of just trying to delete it all like that.

Second - temporary storage of videos open depends on what browser you use. If you are using Internet Explorer, they are stored under C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache

    Chrome stores somewhere else.

To safely clean the files, use the built-in cleaning system program.  Press Windows + R to display the run box, type cleanmgr and click OK to start the cleaning Manager.

  • Error Windows Media Center full disk, but the disk is not full?

Watching TV Live I get a 'Disk full' error after 10-15 minutes of watching (HD if it matters) telling me to delete recorded programs or assign another drive. I havenotregistered program and my assigned drive has 50 GB of free space with 40 allocated in the WMC settings for recording/tv live (although I have no record).

I want to wrong thinking that 40gigs of free space should be much to just watch live TV?  It should not just delete the buffer to rewind etc once it fills up?

PS once I get this message if I closed and reopened WMC, he worked for another 10-15 minutes, then gives the same error.

Edit - don't know why, but this ended in forum music and sound

I had the same problem and found that not a single one of these solutions has solved my problem.

I solved it by making a backup copy of the recorded TV (c:\users\public\public TV recordings) directory and then delete this directory. When you open Media Center, it seems to recreate the directory hidden in the directory recorded TV (\temprec), which is used for the live TV buffer, freeing all the corruption that may have already.

    Hi Daryl Graybill,

Once the video files are copied, you try the following instructions to add the files in the Windows media player library.

File > manage libraries > photos

Here, you can select default location record.

  • Why my media library is not visible on other machines in my home group or my PS3?

    Hello

I am relatively tech savvy but I have a problem with getting my network to recognize my media library on one of my Windows 7 PC.

I am wanting to use Windows Media Player 12 to do this, I ran TVersity successfully, but I prefer to use the ability to stock of the operating system.

I'm pretty sure I got this before work:
Network and sharing Center-> choose homegroup and options-> sharing stream my pictures, music and video (active)

On a remote machine, I can see the libraries when I use Windows Explorer-> homegroup
I can see the music, videos and photos, I also see 'My music' and 'Pictures' folders (not sure why the last two is split out into their own sections)
When I open Windows Media Player, but I don't see anything under "other libraries".

If I open Windows Media Player on the local computer I see other libraries of slots "other libraries". I don't however see individual files to "My Music" or "my pictures."

    I tried:
    The firewall reset
Netstat - year - b, I see wmpnetwork Sam listening on 2869 and some svchost.exe on UDP 1900 so I'm sure that the process is running.

I was wondering if it was a permissions thing, but I tried so many different things, I thought I was opening the question up to the community. I found that somehow 'My Music' and 'My pictures' were not shared with the homegroup, but I changed that.

Also, (and I guess that naturally has the situation) I don't see the PC as a DLNA server on my PS3.

    Thanks for the tips!
    Tom

I went with the method described above. I also added a (.bat file) task in the Task Scheduler with "run with highest privileges" to the net sh stop/start services in the correct order as above after a 90 second sleep - is not ideal, but it works!

  • Any library not no projection in the music folder

After connecting my rocket to the pc the entire library would show in the music folder.  Now, there are only a few of them.  I checked and everything is still on the "rocket". Also just realized it is show only those after I did the firmware update.  They are also the only ones who display album art.  Would like to see them all in the windows folder b/c I want to change a few of them, suggestions.

Files (songs) placed on the reader in a USB (MTP or MSC) mode are not visible on the computer while the player is connected to the other mode.

Firmware updates often re - set the default device (PSG). If you previously songs put on (before the f/w update) mode MSC and the player got switched made on MTP of the update, which would explain why you don't see these songs now, but when you say - connect your player, they are in the menus.

The answer is simple? Restore your USB MSC mode (SETTINGS > SYSTEM SETTINGS > USB MODE). Now your old songs will be visible, but the songs that you put on recently (after the f/w update) will not.

The longer answer? Choose a method that suits you. Connect your player to the other mode. Delete all the songs. Disconnect the drive, wait for the updating of the database and switch to your preferred mode of USB. Connect to your computer and reload again all these same songs. Now everything is displayed on your computer (unless it is somehow the player gets switched again).

Here's a Primer the mode MTP and MSC to help you decide which is best for you.

Oh yes, just to confuse you even more, there is also an AUTO adjustment. The default value for most of the time PSG. I advise to choose one or the other, and doesn't depend on the AUTOMATIC configuration.

  • Qosmio F10 - Media library does not start

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10. My media library does not start.
I get the message the application did not work properly. OK to close the application

Someone please advice me what to do.
    Thanks in advance.

I agree with Akuma. At the end you must install new OS. As already wrote Akuma, back up all your important data and use recovery for any new OS install media.

It is a radical method, but most effective. ;)

Problem with Windows XP Movie Maker. You try to view saved WMV format results in arrested image creation, but the music continues. Tried to re-record and solve the problem, no luck. Can properly view in Movie Maker as a project, but not the final version in WMV format.

    Some experiments to try.

    (1) create a small project with just a few pictures and see if it will play.

    (2) use .bmp photos to create the project instead of .jpg photos.

    (3) remove all transitions and resave the project as .wmv and see it it helps.

    (4) If your music .mp3 file... try to use .wma or .wav. John Inzer - MS - MVP - digital media experience
