"Windows Media Player cannot burn the files to CD" error while burning a CD
My Windows Media Player says "Windows Media Player cannot burn the files to the CD. Check that the disc is clean and not damaged. If necessary, select a slower recording speed or try a different brand of blank discs. I have burned several CD from Windows Media Player in the last year. I used different brands of CD, since I first saw this message, but it continues to give the same message. Whenever the burner starts to burn, I get this message. What is the problem?
Thank you for answering my question. I understood the question. In the burning options, there is a tab file types. For some reason the appropriate boxes are not selected. The burning process has led me to believe that I had a problem of burner or CD, while he was in fact the options. Thank you once again.

Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait until the current task is complete. If necessary, check that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. ???
I just burn a CD with no problem at all. Using the same type of CD, brand new, I tried to burn another CD and got this error message:
Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait until the current task is complete. If necessary, check that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver.
I close all programs running, restarted my computer, changed on the devices tab, the speed of burning... everything I know to do and all the things I've read in these forums, no luck... still get the exact same message. No idea why my CD-writer has decided to stop working for me?

Original title: CD corrupts and burn it
When I go to burn a cd with the music on this topic in windows media player, it starts very well. When it gets to 70-80% it stops and a window opens with this message.
"Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait until the current task is complete. If necessary, check that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. »
There is nothing burn but these files. I made sure there was nothing waiting to be burned. I closed all the other windows. I lowered the speed at which it burns. Nothing works I've looked up online. WMP is updated too.
I can burn files very well. Photos and documents, I have a problem with. It cannot therefore the CD burner (not completely, anyway). I can listen to the songs on the CD where it suddenly stops.
If anyone has had this problem, a solution would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

If necessary, check that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. "I just burn a cd of two days using a blank of the same pack then, what's the problem? I installed itunes. Could be the problem?
Hi AnnaMiller,
You can try reducing the burn speed to see if that solves the problem.
1 open Windows Media Player
2. click on the burn tab
3. click on the burn icon options (windows with the box on the right)
4. Select burn more options...
5. click on the burn tab
6. in the general section, change the burn speed.
7. click on apply
8. click on OK
If this does not resolve the problem, make sure you have the latest drivers for your DVD drive. You can locate the drivers on the Technical Support Web site of the manufacturer of your computer.
1. download the driver from the manufacturer's website and save it to your desktop so that it is easy to locate.
2. click on Start
3. right click on computer
4. Select Manage
5. Select Device Manager
6. develop CD-ROM/DVD-ROM readers
7. right click on your device
8. Select Properties
9. Select the driver tab
10. click on set to update driver
11. Select Browse my computer for driver software
12. click on Browse > Desktop > and then select the file that you saved
13. click OK
14. click Next
You can also run the Media Player troubleshooting utility to reset the media player to its default settings.
1. click on Start
2. click on Control Panel
3. Select Troubleshooting
4. Select programs
5. Select the Windows Media Player settings
6. click Next
7. Select apply this hotfix
8. follow the remaining instructions.

I'm trying to burn an audio cd using a playlist and the Windows Media Player built-in burning capability. I already went through the standard elements, changing CDs, shift etc. The problem persists.
When I try to burn an audio cd from a playlist I get the following message "windows media player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk"
I uninstalled Windows Media Player 11 and it is reverted to the version 9, version 9, I can burn audio CDs without problem and they play.
OK, I GOT AN UPDATE, these WMA files are sitting on a shared folder on a server. Windows media player 9 is able to burn them without a problem. Windows Media Player 11 cannot until I have copy the files to the local disk.
Until Windows Media Player 11 changes forcing him not to work?
Hi SupportTech2010,
Method 1
Check if the problem persists in mode safe mode with network mode and post back with the details.
A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222
Method 2
If the problem does not persist in mode safe mode with networking mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.
I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See section to learn more about how to clean boot.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
- Click Start , and then click run.
- Type msconfig , and then click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears. - Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.
- When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.
Method 3
If the previous step fails, then I suggest that you create a network drive in Windows and check if it helps.

If you guys tell me to check and make sure that the CD burner is connected; been there, done that.
If you guys tell me to uninstall the device, then reinstall; He does that
If you guys tell me to try new disks; summer it does this as well.
I lowered the burn speed ect.I did everything possible. I can burn a disc once or a little then next I get this error.
I still have to burn the disc from system restore and I fear for fear of getting this error. I think I have the external writer since bad things is a good idea to test things before putting.
