I'm missing codecs for windows media player 11.0.6002.18311 any way I can reinstall it or get download missing codecs?
Finally, I fixed my problem of codec. It turns out that it is the 6.9.2.26 codec DIVX version. I uninstalled all DIVX software and re-installed 6.8.5 and now everything works. Windows Media Player 11 now play AVI encoded with mjpg, as well as Adobe first Elements 4 camera. In addition, first elements will now load a DX50 encoded AVI, who had stopped working as well.

Windows Media Center does not work when on a remote desktop session
I have just Setup Remote Desktop on my local server and connected my laptop... whew that was a task in itself!
Server - Windows 7 Ultimate w/Media Center installed
Laptop - Windows 8 Pro w/Media Center installed
I am able to run the Windows Media PLAYER on the remote desktop, and it seems to work fine after that I added the libraries to it.
BUT
When I run Windows Media CENTER I get a message that "Windows Media Center has stopped working... Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. "The message goes away and that's it.
Anyone got any ideas on how I can get the WMC to operate on remote desktop?
Not very well why this would be considered as a matter of "ITPro.
It's probably debatable that MS really intended for MC to be used via RDP, I'm not sure they believed that the feature has been used very well at all judging by what they were doing in Windows 8
However, there are two possibilities on the cause of this. An update of the RDP client can be the culprit, but it is not always a good idea to block any update.
You can also the following reg key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\Rdp-Tcp
added needs of the user group have included in its read access permissions. You can also use the run as Administrator option when you start Media Center.

Windows Media Player and external drives
I agree with Carbonite for backups. Carbonite recently told me that my external drive (g) was disconnected during the backup. I bought a new drive (E :) and Carbonite restore files that were used to be on G: to E:. It took two days. Now Media player sees any of my music files. Carbonite has been of no help saying that they are not familiar with Windows Media Player. My OS is Windows 7. What should I do?
Hello
If you say that your music files are now on a different drive, you will need to tell WMP to go pick them up.
1. open WMP.
2. go in:
Organize-> manage-> music libraries
You should now have an open box where you can manage locations WMP gathers his information. Of.

Turning on the PC with a wireless receiver (Microsoft model 1119) plugged to any USB port causes Windows Vista does not load. Turn off the PC, unplug the receiver, put the machine, loads without problem. Once windows is loaded, reconnect the receiver wireless Microsoft and less than a minute, the keyboard and the Microsoft wireless mouse works perfectly. Device Manager does not take into account conflict of devices.
Hello
Thank you for keeping us posted.
Check if the hard disk has been set as the first boot device in the boot coastal in Input/Ouput order Basic (BIOS). Otherwise, you can set the hard drive as the first boot device and check.
Consult the manual of the manufacturer, to do the same thing.
Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from configuration can resolved BIOS/CMOS settings. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows all of a sudden not connect into any USB port
Original title: Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows issue.
Hi, I bought this back in 2008 and it has been flawless since today... I tried to use it and the controller is unable to connect to the receiver.
There is no light on the receiver, even when I plug it into a different USB port there is still nothing... I even tried another computer. I assume the receiver is nakered?. Can anyone shed some light on this?
If the receiver is so broken, can I buy this receiver on its own and that it will be compatible with my wireless controller Xbox 360 instead of having to buy another expensive controller...
Thank you very much.

I have a library of music taken from my CD as wav files. WMP12 play these files correctly. I have a player blue ray who is capable of playing wav files, but will not play wav files created from WMP12. The blue ray player will play wav files ripped with Exact Audio Copy. What is different about the created files WMP?
Are you sure you're their extraction in the form of wav files and have not chosen to extract in the form of mp3 or wma by mistake?
See you soon,.
