Windows Media Player error when you try to read the file: error downloading codec
Yesterday, I got no sound and video, today I have sound but no video. What is happening with this?
I updated my drivers and now the video does not work. I use Windows Media Player c. 9.00.00.4510. When I click on read the file, in the black bar at the bottom ready it flashes very fast "error downloading codec". Before I updated the drivers, I got the video with no sound. Where this codec disappeared to? How can I get that back?
I have updates for the 9 Series Player and I'm happy with it. If I move up to 10 or 11, codecs and drivers will work with it automatically or will I have the same problem?

I get a message "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem" when I browse me videos.
When I browse my library of videos in Windows Media Player 11 on Windows XP SP3, I got a message "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close." The message does not appear immediately, but after about 5 seconds browsing my library of videos. The details of the error are:
AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: ModName 11.0.5721.5145: deinterlace.ax
ModVer: 1.0.1.0 Offset: 00001cbaAny help would be greatly appreciated.
Someone just tell me how to solve the problem. Apparently, some corrupt videos caused Windows Media Player to plant as soon as thumbnails of the videos have been read. I quickly changed to a non-thumbnail view, so the error would not appear (it appears only when you try to load the photos), then deleted corrupted videos. Thanks for the help, if.

Hi Joseph,
What is the file format of the file you are trying to download?
This problem normally occurs when the Media player could not play the file downloaded or not supported.
Method 1:
Step 1: Here is the list of the formats supported by Windows Media player file:
Information on the types of media files that supports Windows Media Player:

When I want to burn a CD in Windows Media Player, it shows "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk". What's wrong? How to fix?
I tried several times to remove the selection to burn and create a new a new but it keep "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to delivery" appears what should I do? What problem is it?Hello
1. what file format you are trying to burn?
2. have you made changes on the computer recently?
3. What is the security software installed on the computer?
If it's something you downloaded, it may be copy protected by DRM, in which case you may not burn it to a CD or DVD.
Here are a few things to try:
1. make sure that the disc is clean.
2. try a different brand of blank discs.
3. stop all other programs that are running.
4. make sure that the hard drive does not use disk compression.
I suggest that you follow these steps and check if they help to solve the problem.
Method 1:
Try to use the Troubleshoot utility to see if that solves the problem.
a. open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel.
(b) in the search box, type "convenience store" and then click Troubleshooting.
c. click on show all and then click the Windows Media Player settings.
Method 2:
Select a recording speed (write) more slow for the CD burner.
Change settings for burning a CD or DVD in Windows Media Player
Method 3:
If you have any third-party burning software, I suggest you temporarily Uninstall it and then try to burn the disc using Windows Media Player.
Note: Reinstall the software after the trial.
Method 4:
Temporarily disable all programs that could activate themselves, while burning is in progress, such as screensavers or anti-virus programs.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-softwareNote: Run the computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; Be sure to activate security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after identifying the problem.
I hope this helps.

Hi everyone, auggy,
I really hope you can help me with a problem I have on a single workstation at my office. It is an accumulation of 32-bit Windows 7 running MS Office 2010 Standard. It differs from other generations in our office because it is used by the head of the team of our accounts, and so it has a number of custom pieces of software that she only needs access (payroll software, etc.).
All the basic features of the computers seem to be well, except the two following, and I would really like to help get to the bottom of it.
(1) process explorer error when you try to browse the files and folders of BES.
I can call Windows Explorer absolutely perfect and be sailing away on his machine, and then suddenly the process explore will die, with the following error: -.

I can start windows Explorer, and it will happen again--it's a repetitive event.
(2) Internet Explorer AppHangB1 when you try to attach files to download
I think that these two errors may actually be related, like IE (and Chrome as well by the way, this be why I think that the two issues are related) works fine, until I just any type of site where I need to download a file. This happened in the light, as our Chief of accounts needs to download a flat file in a room online banking software. What's going to happen (and, again, this can be repeated as needed) is: -.
(a) you need to click on which will generally be a "Browse" button
(b) a traditional dialog box opens, but instead which allows you to navigate to the location and select the folder you want, he immediately greys out as if the process explore is falling.
(c) shortly after, the following error is returned: -.
Description:

Hi auggy, Andy,.
Well... in a way, I am very disappointed, but we will respond to it.
Andy, I checked and iCloud, Control Panel has not been installed on its terminal, but thank you very much for suggesting it :)
auggi, when I got back on my colleague's PC, I thought I would test to see if the feature didn't always before considering saving data dumps etc, and it worked fine!
I left it overnight with instructions for the lady who uses the PC to test this morning and see if it's all workers, and it is still, it seems that the fix does not immediately solve the problem of browser, but there later - maybe after a second reboot or something... very strange!
In all case, this matter can now be considered closed, so all that remains for me to say thank you very much for your help, you are amazing :)
All the best, very, very,.

Problems of conversion of PDF to MS Word document. I managed to convert 4 files and now the subsequent files generate a "Conversion failed" error when you try to convert the file. I have a big manuscript and I separated each chapter to help the conversion; as I said, the first 4 pieces without problem, then the conversion failure. I tried to convert the document integer and same result. Specifically, I bought the feature export to Word. Please help. I had initially export the Word Perfect PDF document and attempting to pass PDF to MS Word.
Hi sdr2014,
I'm sorry to hear that your conversion process is at a standstill. It seems that the problem is not specific to a single file, you have been unable to convert anything, since the first four chapters of a correct conversion.
So, let's try this:
If you want to convert via the ExportPDF site, please sign out, clear the browser cache, and then reconnect. If you use the drive, please choose Help > updates to ensure that you have installed the latest version.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best,
Sara

When you try to read a disk in the 'A' drive from Windows Explorer, I get a Popup with a white 'X' in a red circle and a message that "A:\ is not Accessible" "Incorrect function" and an OK button at the bottom. It happens to any disk, formatted or not, with the files or empty. I replaced the disk drive - no help.
I don't know if it's a windows setting went crazy or a motherboard problem. My BIOS seems correct. If I do a 'fill' of window hardware in administrative tools he tells me that I have data on the disk.
I have XP - SP3.
Any ideas-
go to a command prompt and type "sfc/scannow" (without the quotes) and let it run... see if this is helpful at all.
Hope do you feel better soon.
