Why Windows Media Player in W7 duplicate audio files apparently without input from me
It's pretty simple. I have a PC with i5 processor and run W7 home edition. For some reason, unbeknownst to me WMP duplicates now so ripped audio files from a CD. Sometimes it is incompatible with only about 90% of the titles in doubles and it doesn't happen immediately. After that the days of non-use, I open WMP to find a disc that I thought had apparently escaped, magically duplicate. Indeed strange events. I can't comment on downloads on the net that I do not use this source. Anyone can shed light on the issue?
Rod Armstrong
Hi Rod,
1 are - that these duplicates reflect while ripping CDs with Windows Media Player?
2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?
First, check if there are different entries for the same media on your computer. If a song or a file is saved two times he can show you a duplicate because they are located in two different places.
Method 1: I would recommend you to rebuild the database of Windows Media Player and see if the problem is resolved.
Here's how:
To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
a. exit Windows Media Player.
b. click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Playerand then click OK.
c. Select all files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.
Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
d. restart Windows Media Player.
Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
Method 2: If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files.
To do this, follow these steps:
a. exit Windows Media Player.
b. click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.
c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click delete on the file menu.
d. restart Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Player-can not read audio files
Situation of Media Player Codec XPsp3!
I'm having a terrible time with the opening of the files and exts. in the media. I get the error that I don't have the appropriate codecs, but these files are very common (IE; Download mp3 multimedia guide) I click on more information to my problem but was sent on a wild goose chase it seems! Any suggestions? ANY help is appreciated... Even soothing words! Thanks in advance (I HOPE?)
It is with Windows Media Player? What version?
What has the * exact * error message text shows that WMP? If you have any codec pack (such as K-Lite), I suggest that you uninstall these once again.

Windows Media Player-how add audio files to the existing selection
Editing of existing playlist in Player 12 - great pain
In previous versions of media player, I could drag a song to a windows explore Panel directly in a playlist. so adding media was a nod to a playlist. Now, you must open it in the game Panel, add media, and you MUST CREATE a NEW NAME FOR THE list of READING which is ABSURD! In other words you can not change the playlist, click SAVE, and the playlist that you work is registered. You should always create a NEW name. What I do is add a '1' to the old name, create the NEW name, and then I have to go back and remove the old list. Once again. It is ridiculously heavy. Can Microsoft fix this? Everyone is significant pain is?
Original name? If you change an unregistered playlist, then it doesn't have a name yet. It is quite normal that you must enter a name when you click on save the list for the first time. The next time you save, you will not have to enter a name more (because then it's not playlist not registered).

When I want to burn a CD in Windows Media Player, it shows "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk". What's wrong? How to fix?
I tried several times to remove the selection to burn and create a new a new but it keep "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to delivery" appears what should I do? What problem is it?Hello
1. what file format you are trying to burn?
2. have you made changes on the computer recently?
3. What is the security software installed on the computer?
If it's something you downloaded, it may be copy protected by DRM, in which case you may not burn it to a CD or DVD.
Here are a few things to try:
1. make sure that the disc is clean.
2. try a different brand of blank discs.
3. stop all other programs that are running.
4. make sure that the hard drive does not use disk compression.
I suggest that you follow these steps and check if they help to solve the problem.
Method 1:
Try to use the Troubleshoot utility to see if that solves the problem.
a. open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel.
(b) in the search box, type "convenience store" and then click Troubleshooting.
c. click on show all and then click the Windows Media Player settings.
Method 2:
Select a recording speed (write) more slow for the CD burner.
Change settings for burning a CD or DVD in Windows Media Player
Method 3:
If you have any third-party burning software, I suggest you temporarily Uninstall it and then try to burn the disc using Windows Media Player.
Note: Reinstall the software after the trial.
Method 4:
Temporarily disable all programs that could activate themselves, while burning is in progress, such as screensavers or anti-virus programs.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-softwareNote: Run the computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; Be sure to activate security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after identifying the problem.
I hope this helps.

Windows Media Player-how do I print a CD label for the audio playlist
Windows media player how
How to print a CD label for the playlist that I burned? I was not able to find a way to do it. I do not painfully a label using MS word. There should be a way to copy it and print it.
You can export the play list to Word with the exporter of Info Media plug-ins, which is part of the WMP9 series Winter Fun Pack 2003: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/wm_winterfun.mspx (do not worry about the label 'WMP9 Series', the plugin still works fine in newer versions).
To export the playlist, select the playlists in the left sidebar of WMP, right-click the playlist and select send to - Media Info exporter .

Windows Media Player won't rip CD more. I put it in MP3 format. I get the COOD1OD2 error message, and by virtue of the clarification it indicates that the error message is COODOFBO which says that the setting of the CD in Device Manager do not match parameter of cd in the drive. I use to be able to rip the CD months ago. I just upgraded to WMP 11 because the sansa clip has not been recognized and updated WMP. How can I fix this.
Thank you
