  Try to adjust the volume of an audio clip in the audio / music. And add music from the disc hard if you added songs to a DVD.

  I did a movie and released a dvd. Then, I moved my files from movie on an external hard drive to store files and free up space on my computer. So I went back to try a pull up the project and got every X / white clips. So now, I rebooted my computer with the video files I removed on the external hard drive and it still shows empty clips.

  The red Xs indicate that Movie Maker cannot find the original source files.
  If the files are still available... just right click on the red Xs and go to the
  current location of the files source and you may be able to restore the

  I assume you are using Vista Movie Maker 6 and not Live Movie Maker?

  It is a problem that I've not seen before... the recorded length must be equal
  at times combined clips on the timeline. I guess it's possible
  If you've done a lot of editing/trimming clips... something was corrupted.

  I was wondering... If you import the .wma file saved in Movie Maker and drag
  it to the timeline... it shows the clip as being the length of 12 minutes? If it isn't...
  Perhaps you could he split and right click Delete unwanted 6 minutes and
  then re-save.

  Divide... drag the playback at the end of the music and the type indicator... CTRL + L
  .. .to split the file then right-click of the unwanted part and click on delete.

  Tip: Unlike clips video... audio clips can be dragged to the timeline, so don't forget
  they are dragged all the way to the left to prevent air from dead at the beginning or
  between the clips.

  It may be worth trying to go to... Tools / Options / compatibility... tab and the left click
  the "All default settings" button before the Save.

  And... If the clips audio source are not the. WMA format... it could be a useful
  try to convert them to WMA before you import into Movie Maker.

  I'm making a movie for my best friend for her birthday. I'm trying to use some of our favorite songs as background music. I'm going to and upload music and it is important, but when I put it in the movie and I play it, no music plays. I know that the film plays because my images in the film show the way they are supposed to. The volume on my computer is in place, and I went through all the audio levels and volume. I went upstairs, hit the clip and have a level of hihgh audio in the editing mode, I hit chronology and went to sound levels, and it is up. I even checked the properties of the songs I am trying to use, and they present themselves as a .mp3. When I went on google and other things to see what could be the problem, a page said that even if the music is in .mp3 form and other forms that work with Windows Movie Maker, they can simply not work. However, some of the songs I am using, I have used in other films I've done, and they do not work yet. So I don't understand what the problem is, and I've checked everything.   If you get the sound from your pc in other programs, the problem is not hardware. Did you of updates or Windows updates or any software installed since the last time that your audio worked? Usually, if the audio doesn't work, is it a device driver conflict. Make sure you have the updated driver for your sound card from the manufacturer's website. Also, check your device manager to see if the audio device appears normal (no yellow exclamation point). You can try to perform a check of the filesystem (CFS) to see if there are any corrupt files that Windows can correct:

  To determine if the problem you are experiencing is caused by one or more system files that are used by Windows Vista, run the System File Checker tool. The System File Checker tool analyzes the system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.

  Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

  On some of the DVD player, you will not be able to play DVD + RW discs.  You will need to use DVD + r (read DVD) drive and check if it works.

  There is more than probably a compatibility problem wiith
  the file format music.

  Try to convert the music file to the. WMA format

  I had this same problem. Assuming that the music is your use of WMM in iTunes, follow this:

  1. open iTunes

  2. click on Edit--> preferences

  3. click on import settings

  4. in the drop-down arrow next to the import to help:, select WAV encoder

  5. press the OK button

  6. now click on the songs you want to use in WMM

  7. click on advanced and click on create the WAV Version.

  8. now, when you return to WMM, click on import Audio or music and go to your iTunes folder. Versions WAV songs you create must be there and when you import, you should have no trouble in :D
